    I neglected my teeth for a while and the waterpik acted as a whole new experience if you’re debating getting a waterpik I would say go do it it makes cleaning your teeth so much more easier and less of a hassle a great way to break in a healthy habit I debated it and glad I purchased it it’s great and has different setting And attachments for all your needs

      Funnily enough, every time I go for my 6 month cleaning my dental hygienist says I have the cleanest mouth she's ever seen and she says it's especially shocking considering I'm in braces. She barely picks at my teeth, one time I asked her to actually try just to make sure she wasn't being lazy and could even feel it myself, I don't have any buildup! She still checks really quick but mostly I just go in for a polish every 6 months. Honestly really do think if you're using it every day, it is like you've just left with a fresh cleaning lol.

    I used these when I was a kid (many year ago). Worked but non adjustable pressure, (too high). Tried again about 10 years ago. Works great, bought adjustable pressure and I use mid setting. My teeth are really tight and it was always difficult to floss, so this was good option. Also, I use the water pick (on lowest setting) to irrigate/rinse my tonsils. I have pits in tonsils that trap food. Works great for cleaning that too. We have a battery operated also. Works good if you don't run it too long.

    What I do is floss first, then I brush. When I’m done brushing, while the toothpaste is still in my mouth I use the waterflosser and run it through all the rows of my teeth - top, bottom, front, back & even behind my teeth. THEN, I brush my tongue and I switch out the waterpik piece with a tongue scraper. While the toothpaste is still on my tongue after I’m done brushing it I take the plastic tongue scraper from the waterpik and clean my tongue off like that. THEN lmao I take a metal tongue scraper and scrap any excess bacteria/germs. THEN I use listerine total care 😁😁 I have a little mirror that I check it with & I don’t ever have plaque, tartar or cavities & my gums never bleed... idk why people say it only takes a few minutes to floss?? They might not be flossing the right way then because it takes me almost 20 minutes

    Starting to using a water pick was life changing for me. For the first time I sincerely feel that after using it (at least three times a day) a CSI team couldn't find out what I ate last. Like seriously NO trace of any food or plaque on my teeth. It leaves my teeth clean as could be. I have a routine of gum brushes first, then water pick, then floss, then brush and then tongue scrape and then gargle. So... I may have become OCD... but I have clean damned teeth and good breath!!!!

    I both floss AND use a water pick, I got one that was very affordable by Bestope. The model I purchased was recommended by my dentist because there were so many brands and types I needed some guidance. It has five power settings and several attachments. My only regret is that I didn't start using this years ago. Mine even has a tongue cleaner and a sinus cleaning attachment. I use my water flosser every single day and it really has changed my life. It really is the best addiction you can have, it makes your teeth, gums, and entire mouth feel so great, fresh and clean, and it's wonderful to know that you're helping your gums be their very best. This is now a life long habit for me, and it cost less than $40, is rechargeable, and completely waterproof so I can use it in the shower.

    I decided to get a water flosser after finding out I have gum disease. I have been using it for five days now. The first two days using it was quite an unpleasant experience. It was a bit painful, even on the low pressure, and made my gums bleed like crazy in a few places. The water coming out of my mouth was bright red. The third day there was no bleeding at all in most places and only slight bleeding in a few places. It also feels less and less uncomfortable every day. I never had a problem with bleeding gums when using string floss so it seems like the water flosser hits some spaces that string floss doesn't reach. I'm going to continue using string floss for best results though. I view water flossing as an addition rather than a substitute.

    Water flossing before brushing is a good idea. "Spit no rinse" after brushing helps to keep Fluoride/Calcium/Xylitol/CPC/CHX/ misc. active ingredients on your teeth after brushing and helps to remineralise your enamel.

    • @DiamondhandsForever
      @DiamondhandsForever 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      99% of the fluoride adheres to the teeth within 1 minute of being applied anyway. that's why the dentist tells you to rinse after applying it during a cleaning. you've been going to bed with that dirty toothpaste still in your mouth? lol.

    • @lauren8627
      @lauren8627 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DiamondhandsForever Depends on the substantivity of the Fluoride applied. Gel is a waste of time, rinses are ripping you off. Varnish is by far the most scientifically effective mode of Fluoride application. I don't think "99% of the Fl will adhere" will ever be an accurate statement, as Fluoride uptake is affected by many factors. After being applied it just sits on the pellicle. And if the patient has a dry mouth it will do stuff all because you need saliva flow and calcium to improve demineralisation. I'll stick to my dirty toothpaste 😂.

    Good video. A cheaper method is to use thread and cotton. Take a piece of sewing machine thread, make a small loop, put a very small piece of cotton and tighten the loop. Hold the thread by both hands tightly and run the cotton piece between teeth. All material stuck between will be dislodged. The size of cotton ball will depend on the gap between teeth.

    Yoooo, so happy to hear it's actually supposed to be used in conjunction with the plain string floss, personally I love string floss, it's my favorite part of dental care NO DOUBT, it's so satisfying and really feels like scratching an itch in a spot that normally can't be accessed and IT FEELS SO GOOD, and it makes brushing feel so much better afterwards too for some reason! Lately, I've been trying to switch to the water flosser and it just didn't do that for me, my teeth still felt dirty and improperly cleaned where the string floss would've "scratched" that itch, maybe I'm just so used to using plain floss, maybe it actually is still dirty, either way, happy to know I not only CAN use them both without feeling like an idiot, I'm kinda SUPPOSED to do it like that... So yeh... It's time to go buy a brand new pack of string floss and scratch that dang itch!!! It's gonna feel sooo good! Thank you for providing this wonderful information.
    Do I like the feeling of string floss a little too much?... NAAHHHHH, I'm entirely normal! Huzzah!

    I had a Waterpik. Its battery was extremely poor. A small water filled rubber balloon, pressed upon, would do the same job. Learn how to rinse mouth vigorously, this removes tiny food debris.

      The easy and more effective way to floss, the Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser features advanced technology and a compact, contemporary design. And it is the first dental water flosser in its class accepted by the American Dental Association (ADA). It cleans deep between teeth and below the gumline where traditional brushing and flossing can't reach, using a unique combination of water pressure and pulsations.
