In 2023 Tanmay Khandelwal of TwoX Capital Management blew out the competition in the Money Manger Division ($1M+) of the US Investing Championship with a return of 129%!
In this video Tanmay discusses his approach to find the companies that have the highest probability to become true market leaders in the Indian markets. Since his typical holding period is over 5 months he puts larger emphasis on her strict fundamental requirements.
Tanmay explains why he believes the Indian markets are the best to invest in with the current economic and industrial improvements recently. A massive addressable market with less market participants allow for those investors that put in the work truly understanding the businesses they invest in to out perform.
Tanmay and his brother Aryan have put together the B.E.S.T. trading strategy (Big, Earnings, Strength, and Trustworthy Management) that he covers in great detail later on in the video.
He concludes by encouraging viewers to embrace failure and use it as a learning tool stating that traders who rush the process of attaining trading knowledge are more likely to fail.

These guys are incredible. Competence to decipher management/company's potential/profit growth assumptions at such a young age, near perfect entries ( some before march 23 when they entered the competition) and exits, guts to commit a crore rupees in new small cap companies and ability to hold positions through earnings and drawdowns. If they just follow their criteria strictly their batting average will be near 100%. Simply Mind-blowing👌

I liked how he is lowering possible drawdown by buying 50% position then the other 50% at 5% and trailing his 8% stop loss to the second 50%.

Amazing man, I'm also from indore
It doesn't seem fair to compare returns in the Indian market, which has had a huge bull market for over a year, to that of the US market which has been sideways and sometimes seen drawdowns due to fed rate hikes, QT, Inflation.
It's not a level playing field tbh.
Furthermore this is his first year, and he started off at the best possible time. His only drawdown was in Oct, when the broader index in India also saw a drawdown.
His returns have definitely beaten the market, but they are very highly correlated, and he hasn't yet been tested in bad times.
Nevertheless, Tanmay seems to have a good grasp of what he is doing, and i bet he'll keep growing from here.

Lol . No.. Afzal Lokhandwala is a fraudster. He has filed a negative tax return for stocks in 2022. Not sure how he faked (+447%) in USIC in 2022. For the year 2023 , they say (+500%). He must have submitted a fake report this year also. Anything possible in India. you get anything fabricated
but april to dec'23 was a big bull run in india and till march it was bear phase, so returns generated only coz of market bull run

I ACCORD WITH YOU , THE LOGIC BEHIND BUYING STOCKS WAS LIKE A KID , WENT TO A SHOP ,LIKED A CANDY IN SHOP , GOT GOOD INTUITION AND BOUGHT IT. good to see how great trades looks in hindsight , looks simple but difficult in real time to execute and hold through Ups and downs, presenter mouse pointer was not visible, it is strange he kept full position even after stock made a LL below 50DMA and not talked about RS given that he is following teachings of ONeil and Minirvini. Being very careful around Earning and Booked profit in strength saved him.
Man I wish this stuff was around when I was a kid!
I remember having to call a broker if I wanted to invest in the market and the only way I watched my investments was via newspaper.

I'm only 3:54 in, and I can already tell this young man is special.
He's sharp
His numbers are not reconciling. In one of the portfolio statistics he mentioned that they have 3 unbooked trades then in next slide he is showing 4. Mentioned that they started from March but later shown that they had 11 positive months.
He said he had 28 unbooked trades. 24 Winners, 4 losers. He did not enter the contest until march.

All was perfect with this boy until I saw that the stocks he traded were Indian lol. The Indian market is kinda pennystock relative to the US, their moves are more predictable (aka more hints with volume), and their percentage increases are higher in average compared to the US Markets. Anyway the boy is applied.

I think an interesting question to pose to everyone on your show would be: "Now that you are making millions, how are you giving back to society?" I think some traders would immediately list all the charities and ways they're giving back, while others would immediately squirm uncomfortably because they squander it all on selfish luxuries. The stock market is unique in that you can make millions while providing no services of any kind. So if the means don't benefit society, it's important that the results do.
