I like how the DynDOLOD authors added the zip function to TextGen_Output and DynDOLOD_Output so you can just drag them into MO2 and install them .... nice little QoL touch
Yea, couple little updates since the last time I used it were nice. And sheson creating the new nexus page for the alpha, so I could make my video easier to follow than where everything was hosted previously, was cool, too.

For those that have CTDs after a seemingly successful DynDOLOD installation: Remember that there are many Mods out there that are incompatible with DynDOLOD because of missing meshes or wrong mesh/texture paths. Disable mods that have LOD objects (e.g. city/flora mods), then re-run DynDOLOD to fix.

And I come back again and you walk me through it again. Thanks a bunch for this, truly, I hope you're doing well; I've seen some community posts recently and I just want to wish you the absolute best in life, you Bob Ross of Modding tutorials
Thank you so much for what you do, your videos are fantastic. As someone with ADHD I really appreciate the small visual cues you add in to draw attention to what you are referencing; it's a small addition but it really has meaning for those who need those little extra bits of attention-getting direction. I've gotten back into Skyrim after some years and knew that starting over my modding journey from scratch was going to be a challenge. Thanks to your method of making guides it is a little less frustrating and you've more than earned every like and sub. Also, you have a stellar voice. 10/10 would listen to you read the back of a damn cereal box.
Never have I watched a video explaining DynDOLOD as clear as this! At first I was afraid DynDOLOD would hurt my FPS but after experimenting I found it better to use DynDOLOD than not.
Ok...how have I never come across you before?! You are an absolute angel, Sir! Seriously, so very helpful. And your voice and tone is just perfect. Thank you for your time
You sir, are a PRINCE! Middle aged gamer here and in spite of my being fairly tech savvy I found jumping back into the complexities of Bethesda's modding world a bit overwhelming. Your guides are the most direct and helpful I've yet encountered. Thank you!!!
This guy is a treasure. I've probably been doing most of this stuff for as long as him, but in a much less organized or effective way, and the clarity and positivity of these videos cane be immensely helpful for my scatterbrained self, even when I supposedly know exactly what I'm doing and have done it before.
Honestly such a coincidence that this video comes out just as I'm beginning to teach a friend to mod Skyrim- your previous DynDOLOD video was the video that got me comfortable using third party programs to tighten up and perfect my load order (after years of being intimidated by vague and sometimes condescending modding help resources), and hopefully this video can be the jumping off point for my friend to also see the value in these tools, and how simple they can be once you have someone explain it to you well
Dyndolod doesn't really blow my skirt up. It's fussy and finicky, and I can scarcely tell the difference when it's running. That being said, this is the guy to help install it for you. Kudos! And thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for this video! I moved my Skyrim install to a new PC, and had multiple issues regenerating my LOD. This video was like a soothing, reassuring voice at the end of the tunnel. Regeneration successful!
I almost quit halfway through my current Skyrim mod setup after trying to wrap my head around all these different tools, but your videos are so helpful and easy to follow it has breathed new life into me. Thanks so much!
here we go again with DynDOLOD watching my favourite modding guides! you're the best man! I was looking for that advanced guide you mention in the video but I guess you never got to it :(
Good sir, please make a guide like this for xlodgen. It makes my head hurt to read through all those different guides and I don't even understand half the things they say in them or how to follow the steps. This is the best guide I've seen, and if there was one like this it would change the world for me. Anyone I ask says that xlodgen is one of the least userfriendly mod.
You are an actual hero. Modding Skyrim has given me a thousand yard stare I swear to God. I wish I would've found your channel a few weeks ago lol. You know there are people on youtube that are making you join their patreon for these kind of Modding How to Guides for Skyrim? Thanks for this, subbed.
@@gamerpoets Does it matter where I put Dyndolod in my MO2 mod manager? Does it need to be the last mod I download or the last? Or can it be just randomly placed in there?
Dyn needs to consider everything in your load order that has lod. So you want to do it, mostly, last to avoid having to redo it when you add or remove mods that have lod
@gamerpoets Thank you! You should do a series where you download a mod list that you will play and we could follow along with you as you install them. I have a good system, but it's tricky putting a list together on the current build. So many skyrim mods require so many others and those requirements have their own list of required mods, it's a labyrinthine task to get one working atm.
Thank you so much for this video! And i’ve just recently saw your community post, i hope you get approved for your surgery and all goes well! Sending good vibes your way and once again thank you for these tutorials. You truly are a blessing to this community. Cheers 🖤

@@gamerpoets It's because your videos aren't just installation videos. They are comedy, entertainment and they make me smile and laugh. I love your videos. Thank you for making them.
Lol so true I was browsing for something else and stopped here
Yes the new drug “Gamerpoet” is sweeping the nation, I blame TV! It’s getting all our youth addicted. ITS A GATEWAY DRUG TO Mehrunes Dagon cults! But fear not! If you want to join the temple of Talos in your local area YOU CAN BE SAVED! PRAISE TALOS!
@@bertecrabtree they are an experience, not just tutorials!
I've run into tons of issues through my DynDOLOD installation. It's been a massive pain in the ass, but this video helped, ESPECIALLY for undoing my steps and starting it over. Thank you very much!
your voice is amazing. getting my modding toturials from you is a treat.
Thank you, sir = ) I appreciate the kindness.
Man I love gamerpoet, no bs no adverstisement and no long drawn out explaination. You're here hes explaining and things are moving fast, as well easily organized and nooby friendly.
They just updated all the DynDOLOD files and I had to go through this all over again. I don’t know what I would do without this video, I’ve never given a super thanks before, thank you so much ❤
Thank you very much :)
I am usually terrible at running any and all modding tools like this one, but your tutorials are so clear that I never feel lost or like I missed a step. Thank you for what you do.
We are all terrible at this stuff until we aren't:)
Killing it as always Poets! Love you man, thank you for all the wonderful work and being such a bright mark on this community. Your voice is silky and your heart one of the biggest i've seen.
Appreciate ya man :)
This is by far the easiest tutorial to follow for this. You make everything seem so easy, even for a noob! I always breathe a sigh of relief when I see you have uploaded a tutorial for something I need to install. Thank you for your videos!
For the longest time I've been terrified of using DyndoLOD. It's safe to say that that is no longer the case. You truly are a gem to the modding community Michael. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into helping us out
I still am I made it about 2 and 1/2 minutes in and he is like "Download this" but I can't find that file anywhere
I'm 23, but I wish I'll have your voice when I grow up...
That aside, THANKS A LOT. Generating LODs seemed like hell itself to do with so many steps and stuff to download (I kinda broke my game the first and only time I've tried doing so, about a year and half ago...) but I'm sooo thankful with how easy and accesible you made this vid. Again, thanks a lot!
Why is Skyrim modding community such a banger
well, this came at EXACTLY the right time, as I have been staring at some nearly-incomprehensible DynDOLOD instructions for the last day or two, wondering "what the hell does ANY of this even mean?!?"...TY GamerPoets.
Hope it helps = )
@@gamerpoets Always Does! :)
😅
They say that games makes you a violent person. They are right, especially when you can't get your mod running correctly. That's why i'm really thankful for tutorial videos like this. We really appreciate your work fellow Dovahkiin sir.
Literally the BEST format for tutorials ever. As concise and accurate as possible. You are a god
3.0 has made the whole process deliciously easy. The hybrid trees look fine and the performance is excellent. Still not sure what this business with grass LOD and caching is but that ought to be covered in your advanced guide, right?
it will be = ) AE requires an annoying step for grass and it would have been too much for a basic video.
@@gamerpoets I believe there are now also steps to get Seasons working with Grass LOD (and thus also no grass in objects). I havent looked into how involved it is as i am in the middle of a playthrough and i dont know if you plan on covering such things in the advanced video as well but it might be worth considering depending on what it entails? Just a suggestion
Seasons will get its own video :)
@@gamerpoets fair enough that makes sense thanks for the info :) Edit: I ll be looking forward to that one actually as maybe it ll contain a less tedious way of making blacklists and there is a more efficient way to make them than when i did haha Certainly would be nice for future playthroughs
@@gamerpoets Seasons is magic. I'm currently nodding and just had to stop to look at the ice in the Dragon's Reach pool. Clashes with the waterlilies though :)
You're an absolute blessing to this community, as a returning modder skyrim feels like a breeze to walk through listening to you, absolute gigachad energy love you for that.
Skyrim modding has been a consistent positive experience in my life and you are a huge part of that. Followed your older tutorials and follow these too. Cheers to you!
Hey! Thank you 😀 . Glad to have been helpful
This has got to be the best tutorial video I've seen. No random filler talk, informative, easy to follow along, support for both Vortex and MO2... Thank you!
Glad you liked it = )
For anyone having trouble getting TexGen to run with the GOG version of the game, you have to add a couple commands to it through Vortex (where he originally tells you to leave it blank 4:00). Be careful, some of the paths use SPECIAL edition and some ANNIVERSARY edition. I found a couple different paths, but these are the ones that worked for me, hope they help.
-m:"c:\Users\[USER NAME]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\"
-p:"c:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG"
-d:"c:\GOG Games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data"
how do you add multiple command lines
I LOVE YOU, I HAD A THIRD INSTALLATION OF SKYRIM ON MY PC AND I COULD NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM, WITH YOUR ARGUMENT LINES I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SOLVE IT, I USE MO2 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
@@namegone8035 Just put them in one after another, with a simple space between them. Hope that helps!
@@Mymadafacas Oh good! Glad I could help! 😄
You sir are sent from the heavens
Definitely well worth the wait, and I am looking forward to the more advance tutorial in the future. Superb quality once again.
😊 🙏
@@gamerpoets Also looking forward to the advanced video. Thank you for all your help. This is the best modding channel on youtube by a long shot IMO.
Thanks for these tutorials. The stuff that comes with dyndolod is like 1980's Japanese stereo instructions. It's not actually that complicated, they just make it sound like a physics PHD.
your guides/tutorials are so professional and helpful, thank you very much for your efforts :)
During pandemic I had all the time in the world to create my perfect modlist. Your instructions saved me. Now more than 2 years, I am returning to Skyrim again and you save me another time. Thank you so much for arranging these videos lol they are very easy to understand for those not as educated in the modding area! We really appreciate the time and effort you must have invested in the production of this one.
Amazing video helped so much. But do you know why i cant zip and exit after running texgen? i have 7zip as well
This guide is what all guides should strive to be. Thank you for holding my hand as we get DynDOLOD running on my pc! You've earned my like and subscription.
The textgenoutput.zip file isn't showing up in the textgenoutput folder. When i open the textgenoutput folder there's only a texture folder. What should I do?
im a big idiot aswell, it looked like a folder but if you look closely you can see that it's actually a zip folder
this happened to me, i downloaded the wrong version of the main dynDOLOD (the manual download one/ the first download) try going to the link provided in the video description and make sure u download DynDOLOD 3.00
Dude you were the one that helped me install Dyndolod on Legendary Edition and your accent has stuck with me for all of these years. I'm so happy I found you again in the age of Anniversary Edition and Vortex. I'm ready to improve my game again.
I appreciate you coming back = )
so on the dyndolod 3 page, there is a dyndolod dll ng version while on this guide is using the dyndolod dll se version. which one i should use?
If you're on SE only the se stuff
Are... are you the Samwise of the Skyrim modding community?
How have I never seen this channel before in 10+ years of modding Skyrim?
Why is this so good?!
Why are you sweet and telling me to breathe and relax and that I got this??! Like? 🥺
In all seriousness: this tutorial is magnificent and thank you very very much for your hard work. It is so appreciated!
There's some good in this world and it's worth fighting for 😉
Thank you very much
Honestly the most clear, to the point and well edited videos for skyrim modding, anyone could follow along and do this with you! Thank you for the help
The sweetest tutorial i've ever seen! You make the modding like write a poem. Thank you and wish you the best!
Folks like you literally keep the modding community alive. Modding can be super intimidating and easy to understand, nonjudgemental tutorials like this help a LOT to draw more people in who may have otherwise given up out of frustration. You helped me finally understand texgen today, thank you so much
Part of why I like your videos is you speak into the camera with firm confidence...you got that tone and animated motions with your hands like you know wtf you're doing, and you'll say and do everything in your vid WITH CONFIDENCE
I have never tried Dyndolod because it always seemed so complicated. Thank you for breaking it down and making it easy to understand.
That little sing along at the end put a genuine smile on my face for the first time in a long while, thank you.
It did its job = )
i came to learn about LODs... didnt know there was a gentle Spacemarine doing the narrating.. THE EMPEROR APPROVES OF YOUR VOICE BROTHER!
Because of YOUR video guides on MO2 and other tools, I was able to install DynDOLOD 3.0 ultra trees with no help. They look fantastic!
Your videos are clean, concise and most of all, they teach us how to be good modders. Thank you for creating informative content.
Bob Ross painting instructions was the first thing that came to my mind a few minutes into watching this video!
If only all my lecturers in school are as chilled and clear as you!
Your smile calmed my frustration at not being able to do it myself for several hours. Thank you.
My goodness thank you for this. Nothing against the mod maker but their instructions were...not very clear. This video was super helpful.
Just wanted to come back and say that this video continues to help me through the process; every time I want to redo my load order, i go "Oh no, that means messing with the scary intimidating thing that is DYNDOLOD.... wait; I have gamer poets!" And I come back again and you walk me through it again. Thanks a bunch for this, truly, I hope you're doing well; I've seen some community posts recently and I just want to wish you the absolute best in life, you Bob Ross of Modding tutorials
Absolutely superb.
Clear and concise instructions delivered at a measured pace with zero fluff.
Thanks, man x
Thank you so much for what you do, your videos are fantastic. As someone with ADHD I really appreciate the small visual cues you add in to draw attention to what you are referencing; it's a small addition but it really has meaning for those who need those little extra bits of attention-getting direction. I've gotten back into Skyrim after some years and knew that starting over my modding journey from scratch was going to be a challenge. Thanks to your method of making guides it is a little less frustrating and you've more than earned every like and sub.
Also, you have a stellar voice. 10/10 would listen to you read the back of a damn cereal box.
Finally used Dyndolod after about 4 years of modding thanks to this video! Awesome job!
I just tried to install this before bed last night with absolutely no success. Excellent timing GamerPoets! Keep the excellent videos coming!
Couple more dyn videos on the works, too. :)
I would have never figured this out on my own. Thank you so much
Never have I watched a video explaining DynDOLOD as clear as this!
At first I was afraid DynDOLOD would hurt my FPS but after experimenting I found it better to use DynDOLOD than not.
I wanted to give up, but this video helped so much. I've been modding since 2014 and haven't dared venture into the DynDoLOD world yet.
Polite. Concise. Clear. So easy to follow, I could follow it using a different mod manager than the one used in the video.
Thanks for making this!
This is honestly the best hands down video on how to run DynDOLO, just simple and easy to follow.
Happy you found it helpful = )
Ok...how have I never come across you before?! You are an absolute angel, Sir! Seriously, so very helpful. And your voice and tone is just perfect. Thank you for your time
I'm glad you liked the video = )
You sir, are a PRINCE! Middle aged gamer here and in spite of my being fairly tech savvy I found jumping back into the complexities of Bethesda's modding world a bit overwhelming. Your guides are the most direct and helpful I've yet encountered. Thank you!!!
This channel is CRIMINALLY underrated, i was actually shocked at his sub numbers.
I wish I could like this video twice with how helpful it was
love the way you speak. Such great videos, my main man i always look for your tutorials first for anything i need. Just had to say thanks.
This guy is a treasure. I've probably been doing most of this stuff for as long as him, but in a much less organized or effective way, and the clarity and positivity of these videos cane be immensely helpful for my scatterbrained self, even when I supposedly know exactly what I'm doing and have done it before.
Honestly such a coincidence that this video comes out just as I'm beginning to teach a friend to mod Skyrim- your previous DynDOLOD video was the video that got me comfortable using third party programs to tighten up and perfect my load order (after years of being intimidated by vague and sometimes condescending modding help resources), and hopefully this video can be the jumping off point for my friend to also see the value in these tools, and how simple they can be once you have someone explain it to you well
This is lovely for total begginers, and even somewhat experienced modders can just use this as a reminder. Nice one.
Well... no idea why I was so terrified to install this. You made it so easy! Thank you!
Welcome:)
I almost quit halfway through my current Skyrim mod setup after trying to wrap my head around all these different tools, but your videos are so helpful and easy to follow it has breathed new life into me. Thanks so much!
Thank you my friend, for the first time I'm standing in front of whiterun looking at some beautiful mountains. Clear and well put
happy it helped = )
What a great tutorial! I was confused by the documentation for DynDOLOD and this made it all perfectly clear! Thank you so much for making this.
One remark for VR users, these days it's actually a bit easier to do, because there are specific VR versions of every plugin.
I'd never heard that song at the end before, but it was really touching tbh. Hope you wrote more to it
here we go again with DynDOLOD watching my favourite modding guides! you're the best man!
I could listen to this man narrate books and podcasts all day
You are an actual hero. Modding Skyrim has given me a thousand yard stare I swear to God. I wish I would've found your channel a few weeks ago lol. You know there are people on youtube that are making you join their patreon for these kind of Modding How to Guides for Skyrim?
Thanks for this, subbed.
Information shouldn't be paywalled. :)
Welcome.
I don't use other peoples mod lists = )
It will likely be a long time before I mod Skyrim again for myself.
3:06 when he says I'm moving along wonderfully like!! Thank you :DD!! This is hard!!
Man, that song bugged me at first, but then I thought I could give it a chance. It made me laugh, so that's good enough for me. Glad you included it.
Thank you so much for this video! And i’ve just recently saw your community post, i hope you get approved for your surgery and all goes well! Sending good vibes your way and once again thank you for these tutorials. You truly are a blessing to this community. Cheers 🖤
Appreciate it = )
Cannot overstate how much I love your voice and how much easier you make something scary like this
😊 🙏
2:51 if you are using Oldrim just FYI the Dyndolod DLL & Scripts are a single download now.
