THERE IS NOT A SINGLE NOTIFICATION ABOUT "NVSE" NOT BEING INSTALLED, NOT THAT SIMPLE. THIS THING JUST CRASHES EVERYTIME I TRY TO RUN A MOD. VORTEXT PART ONLY LASTING 20 SECONDS IS THE MOST INFURIATING THING, TUTORIALS IN GENERAL ABOUT INSTALLING MODS ARE THRASH, THIS ONE IS NOT THE EXCEPTION
So I have 5.1b4, and I'd like to update it to the newest version since some mods I'm interested in require it. I was wondering how to do that, as I couldn't find much that I understood online. It sounds like I just download it normally, and overwrite the old NVSE files, I'm just not entirely sure how to do that lol. Sadly there's no videos on the topic
Dude, just a perfect example on how to get to the point and be entertaining while doing so. I didnt want to play NV for a while because i was too lazy to mod is stable, but this just saved my day. Thank you!
Been a hot minute since I modded NV and was really missing my fave game. When I started digging into recent mods I saw many required the updated NVSE and was thrilled to see you had an updated guide, you rock!!!
You're hands-down the best TH-camr I've seen cover modding support. Clear, concise, and I do appreciate the "pause if you need it" and "take a deep breath" because this crap gets frustrating.
thank you so much! this guide still works 2 years later, I've always wanted to mod new vegas but I'm terrible with computer stuff so its nice that there's people like you on the internet that are helpful

Like everyone else I am going back to my childhood thanks to the show. This video is the best I have ever seen for how to install and double check something. I wish all of the shitty recorded on a flip phone tutorials had half the clarity your video has. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, I recently found out about your channel, and I love how precise and to the point you are. I've watch videos you've made that I've not really been interested in but have enjoyed because of your presentation!
Thanks for this! Man you should have a Twitch channel where you make these vids and share hilarious anecdotes about life while displaying your Adobe prowess!
The Epic Tales of the Great Grandmaster Guru Gamerpoets Mod Tutorial Video of the New Vegas Script Extender. A tale that was told thousands of years ago... er... today, just nearly an hour ago. It is a phenomenaaaaal experience and made me want to stop what I'm doing and play New Vegas now and mod it to high heaven. Thank you Great Grandmaster Guru.
Wow first time on vortex and so frekin easy!!! I used NMM before so I was used to downloading everything but this is so much better already having it there. Only thing id say to explain more for absolute beginners is when you say type what's on the screen for the nvse_config.ini is to type what's highlighted and that it may not appear exactly what you are showing. Like mine has some extra stuff before it that may confuse new modders. Like the defaultheapinitial is there but someone who has opened this for the first time may have trouble. [Memory] ; If NVHR (Heap Replacer) is installed, this setting does nothing. ; *Default internal value (if unspecified) = 200 ; *Written default = 400 ; *Maximum = 500 DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB = 400 ; *Default value = 64 ; *Maximum = 128 ScrapHeapSizeMB = 64
Thank you for making these! I am a caveman with technology so this helps me and motivates me to invest time into modding. I can honestly say that if it weren't for you i wouldn't mod my games. That said will you do a Load Order guide/template on what would be best for Fallout NV? Should i use the same kind of template i would use for FO4?
i’m lost, so i have nvse downloaded using vortex but it’s not showing up in my plug-ins page and when i open the game i get a pop up saying other mods aren’t detecting it
NVSE does not work, used the ` key and typed GetNVSEversion and all it says is "SysWindowCompileAndRun", line 1: Script command "getnvseversion" not found
Is the memory patch the same as the 4GB patch from your new vegas FPS and Stability video? I'm assuming yes, but I'm pretty new to modding and I'm really just making sure so my game runs smooth. Also, love these videos. They help me so much. Well earned sub on your part, friend.
My God man I mean I am still using NMM, why you ask, well I feel like you have to jump through hoops to get the other two to work, just an opinion, love your content always man.
if you cant find your .exe open your file explorer press view it will be towards the top left corner and check File Name Extensions it will pop up the .exe name afterwards
Thanks for the tuotiral, slightly out of date but still useful. I am guessing lauching from vortex and updating the ini is no longer required (ini has data, its not empty, and there is no launch button from vortex)?
@GamerPoets I do, not looking at my pc but i should I extract it then it will generate a new file correct? Edit: thank you for the quick reply! Just getting into modding and I feel lost as hell so your videos are very helpful
I literally followed every step properly man. When I try to launch nvse_loader it tries to launch, goes on a 1 second black screen then back to mo2. Strange part is that, it does not allow to press “run” any longer after one try, I have to restart the game. Only way I’m able to launch is with the fallout launcher and then, none of the nvse mods work!! Can someone help me please?
I just bought Fallout New Vegas but it keeps crashing when i tab out. I would like to mod it but i am so confused where to even start, i got this video recommended. What's the difference between these different approaches ? And how do i do apply these mods on the GOG version ?
After my first time launching NVSE from Mod Organiser 2 whenever I try to launch it it says that the INI is read only, and gives me 3 options: "Clear read-only tag" "Allow the write once" and "Skip this file". If I just hit X on the popup it launches the game, though straight to the game and not the menu that lets me alter settings you can't alter when on the main menu. Which of these options should I click on?

I had the same issue, but after installing NVSE and deploying I just launched new vegas normally and used the getNVSEVersion command in console and got a version number back, so it seems to be installed fine.
I tried it both the vortex way and the manual way and nothing is working and I have no idea why, did all the steps In the not working part and still nothing, mods say I don't have NVSE installed even though I do
okay I eventually got it working but then my MCaffe started deleting the nvse_steam_loader.dll and I have no idea why considering it wasn't delting it a day ago

The newest version of NVSE doesn't require you to change the ini file.
