    I have a bit of scrap wood. Figured I might use it for something. Bird houses will be made with some of it. Maybe some bird feeders as well. I have someone wants bird houses but just for decorations mostly. My dad made bird houses years ago before he died. I'll think of him while building them. Enjoyed your video.

      A good use of scrap wood I think. Good luck with yours. My dad also makes Birdhouses sometimes. He has made some strange shapes and sizes over the years. Thank you.

    Hi Phil, to make it more bird friendly, it’s a good idea to fasten small twigs on the inside of the front cover. This gives the fledglings something to grip when trying to leave the nesting box.

      Yea the first box is for a variety of birds. The sparrow box is specifically for sparrows.

    I Phil having to a open box for robins will the magpies rob the nest with an open box that’s what I’m concerned about?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That could happen so it's best to hide them deep inside a hedge to give them plenty of cover.

      Do the birds find these boxes when you put them deep down into the tree/ hedge?

    question? why do sparrows need a wall between each other's nesps? do they trigger each other v

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's a bit like humans. They live close together but have their own space to prevent fighting. That's my theory anyway.

    How come every thing I watch has metric measurements instead of regular inches and feet I've never had metrics and don't understand it or see in its use

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Europe tends to use metric measurements. When I was at school the UK decided to drop teaching imperial and taught metric. So I learnt both which is confusing because I switch from one to the other all the time.

    • @ksenss2513
      @ksenss2513 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Only countries to use imperial are the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar. Everybody else uses metric. If you want measurements to be imperial, best watch U.S. content. Everybody else is just as confused by imperial as you are by metric. (With the exception of older people from countries that switched late).

    Thank you. What is that metal thing on top and where can it be bought?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, the metal is a scrap piece of aluminium to cover the join of the roof sides. You can buy L shaped lengths of metal at DIY stores.

    IMO uve gotta make them cleanable or hosable. like u did the blackbob box
    it maybe spreads canker if not. canaker is a horrible desease (NOT EFFECTIING HOOMANS)
    and not sure about processed wood saftey in terms of off-gassing formaldyhyde.
    God speed anyway

    no perch on a birdhouse!

      No perch.....less chance of predators using it to perch on and put their head in.
