    Also to add. The difference with the frames are as follows. Lifestyle Frame is not safety rated while the Performance Frame is. The Performance Frame is also going to be more of a wraparound. (From what the sales person told me)

    I wear prescription glasses, and while i know the ASRs have the ability to be prescription, my question to you is how are they with blocking wind from your eyes?

  • @saddle8bag
    @saddle8bag 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The magnet was pretty ingenious...for guys that ride bikes with steel tanks anyway. The shatter resistant lens is a great feature too. Two other things I look for in motorcycle sunnies are:
    1. No polarized lens. They make an LSD style kaleidoscope of the world when you close the helmet visor. Trippin and riding only works on Easyrider.
    2. Arms that are thin and sit high on the lens so when you look to the side, you don't get an eyeful of sunglasses arm.
    Do these avoid these issues?
    I never found the foam business particularly useful or comfortable. When my eyes are taking too much wind, down comes the visor. The padding makes the glasses sit further from my face and start creeping down my nose. Maybe the little rubber arms would help with that?

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should definitely try a pair on. I think you’ll like them. For the performance frame, it does help to have a big ol’ noggin’ though!

  • @tribrackfixtedtight5694
    @tribrackfixtedtight5694 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey John random question have a 1996 1200 sportster custom started leaking oil around pipes at jugs. ? Is. Is it major or minor repair? Thanks in advance. Love the videos keep up the great work.

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      oil around the pipes is usually a rocker box leak. Look above where you see the oil. best tip to find an oil leak, though, is to clean everything really well. then go for about a 30 mile ride. look over everything, find the leak. It's easier to figure out where it's coming from before its just all over the damn place!

And I want the power when I get on it..oh let's to beat a victory highballer with the 106...I have done the typical I take and exhaust with FP3 using the pre loaded tune..should I run auto tune ???

    • @TheHarleyTech

      Auto tune wouldn’t hurt. I’ll have to do some research for a cam. We do so many baggers (with different exhaust) I’m not sure about much else!

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may have cut that part out. I rode in my half helmet and they’re good. Not as good as a set with foams, but better than a smaller frame (obviously)

    Sorry off topic but would you recommend Thunderheader exhaust on a Low Rider S? Great video as always

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would probably perform very well, but thunder headers usually end up looking shitty long before the rest of the bike will. I like bassani pipes a lot. I think the finish is better and the performance is comparable. At the end of the day, though. It’s your bike. So pick the one that’s gonna make you drool all over it!

    Nice! I'm gettin a pair. Now, what would you think if I put bars like the ones on the bike you were riding on my 2016 Breakout? I think of my Breakout as a "Fat Man's Sportster". Sportsters are my favorite Harleys by far, but I'm too fat to ride one. I had to trade my 2015 48 in because I saw a video with my riding from behind and it looked ridiculous. So the Breakout is bigger and fatter and makes me look smaller....hehe!!!

      Haha, not the first time I’ve heard a big guy go for a 240 tire! I love apes, the breakout is generally a “long and low” bike, but who cares. Do what you want, check some pics out. Make that thing yours! Besides apes on breakouts are rare, it’ll be unique for sure!

    As always a great video. You should do some suspension vids. I'm sure I'm not the only bigger guy that with a Limited that probably needs better suspension for weight of the rider, passenger and gear. Is stock suspension enough? Should it be upgraded? I'm 6'2 295 pounds... put the other half and gear and we're over the limit. Besides ride quality what "bad things" happen when over the limit. What about going over service recommendations when on trips? How far is too far over. I'm really picky about maintenance intervals but my next trip I'll be over my 5K service. Is it ok? How bad is it if I'm nearly 1K over? Just some topics I thought you could cover.... Keep up the great work!

      Quality maintenance is time oriented, besides mileage. 3 months or 5,000 mi. is good. If you`re on a trip I wouldn`t worry about it on the road. just do it when you return home. I used to work at a truck leasing company and that`s how we maintained our vehicles. We went 30,000mi. on tractor oil changes. Some trucks did that in 2 weeks.

    Does it cause you to tear while riding? I believe foam-type glasses helps prevent that.

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, foam does prevent that, but no tears here!

      I did just see my first case of this the other day. 10k miles and it’s a little wobbly. We didn’t have the new bushing in stock yet, though. So I’ll post more when I know more.

    Hey man I have a 14 street bob that I just bought and I was riding it today and the engine did a couple of hard sputters and died and now it’ll start and run and then die. Any idea what it could be?

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      easiest thing to check is gas and battery terminal bolts. past that, the internet is hard to diagnose things. I have a list of about 10 things I'd check, but each thing is dependent on the other things to check. Did you buy it privately or from a dealer?

    • @itsfarriswheel4421
      @itsfarriswheel4421 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Maxwell I bought it private it has 4300 miles
