I wish every new bike came with a list of torque settings for each component. I usually have to search internet for recommended values. Interesting combo of Di2 and cable rim brakes.
One recommendation for tidier Di2. If you have the hole in the back of the handlebar like on those Pro Vibe's you can normally tuck the Junction box inside the stem and then run the cable back out and alongside the brake cable like you did in the video. The only downside of this is that you can't access the junction box for crash mode without taking your stem faceplate off!
We continue to watch because the service has a lot of passion and desire for it to work well, this permeates the screen to the viewers, it's very apparent
Hello Lee and Simon, thanks for this video which I enjoyed very much watching with my breakfast 😊 Hope you have a nice onward week and weekend! I will see you soon, greetings from Germany as always 🌞🍀😘
Super video and very unique Giant Liv envie,I've never seen brakes like that on a road bike-V-brakes,you can't beat good old Shimano dual pivots.💯👌🏻✌🏻🚴♂️
Noticed that the tyre had TR on the side, ( tubeless ready), but she had a tube fitted. Seems a bit strange. Great tyre though, I run the same tyre at 32mm
I learn something on almost every one of your videos! I never worked on a Di2 bike, so never saw that cable connector tool before. That shrink wrap idea I will adopt. Working on a Sora rear mech, I noticed the upper jockey wheel had lots of side play. About tp replace it, I had an identical one still in the original box. It had the same trait! I was wondering if sealed bearing upper jockey wheels are like this, and how they engineered that function if so?
Are you following the mapdec saga with inspecting shimano cranks?… can’t help but wish the industry would unite in its stance and send a message to shimano……these faulty cranks should NOT be inspected…. They should just be recalled and replaced no questions asked.
I’ve picked up a lot of tips from your videos, and one really paid off today I’ve added checking my tires for embedded “flints” to my pre-ride inspection, and today I found a small shard of glass. Thanks for all the tips and tricks p.s. what do you use as solution in your ultrasonic cleaner?
That’s good to read, we’re not loyal to this brand in anyway it’s just currently the degreaser we’re using but it’s the no nonsense degreaser by screwfix 🧡
@ Thanks Lee I mostly use mine to clean up chains before re-waxing and have been using a bit of dish detergent in water I have a citrus-based (environmentally friendly) degreaser that I think I’ll try (probably cut it 5:1 with water) Hi Simon!
The same component of various brands can have different torque specs. For example, you can't torque down the faceplate of an ExtraLite stem as much as an FSA's.
That’s great to hear thank you! We are not brand loyal to any one brand but currently use a no nonsense degreaser by screwfix and water it down heavily🧡
What oil are you using on the chain? I have been using Finishing Line wet, but just gone over to squirt. I was getting about 3500 miles to a chain with the wet lube. Hoping for a lot more with the squirt.
We use 365 lube by Oxford but that’s because we can get it from our suppliers not necessarily because we think it’s any better or worse than any other brand, it’s a cheap option which is important when we’re putting it on every single bike 🧡
Great video as always guys. One question if i may, i have the same same cyclo chain checker as you. Am i correct in thinking this is not suitable for 12 speed chains? One of my mtb bikes is 12 speed, can o not use this cyclo checker and if not, what do you recommend? Thanks
Yes it can be used on Shimano 12 speed chain (not 100% sure on sram) however its recommended to replace a Shimano 12 speed at 0.50% stretch and this gauge shows 0.75% but its very easy to estimate wear to 0.50% with it🧡
If you think about it, a chain for a road bike is around 110-115 links, so 1% is about the length of a whole link. Enough to eat at the teeth of the cassette and the chainrings.
I wonder, if when that family does laundry, once the washing is done, do they stop the washing machine and don't let the rinse cycle to start, they just take the clothes out to dry in the sun with the soap in it. Washign the car.......no need to rinse off......just dry. Washing the dishes? No need to rinse off.....just wipe the dishes.......
How about just doing away with unnecessary rubbish disc brakes. Are you riding a motor bike? Why would you need disc brakes. Caliper brakes were good enough for Eddy Merkxx but not good enough for some fatty weekend rider with his flashing lights.
I would love to read more about the appropriate torque setting for each part.
Here's an unwanted tip😅 On the rear wheel, I placed the cadence spoke magnet opposite to the tube valve, so as to balance out for rotation purposes!
Nice!🧡
Good eye!
At this amount of overthinking, you need to reposition your balls left to left right to right for gain balance :)
@@nurialco3303 😂😂😂😂😂
Epic service indeed. Another bike ready to do many many more miles! ❤
16:45 i didnt even consider this!
great video seeing everything in detail ,gives a much better idea of how much there is to be done.
Thanks for the support Dave 🧡
Super service and attention to detail, like the grease on the front chain rings. Quality job on the service and video 😎🇫🇮
Thanks very much Dean🧡
What a elegant bike! Exotic position of the front break!
I wish every new bike came with a list of torque settings for each component. I usually have to search internet for recommended values. Interesting combo of Di2 and cable rim brakes.
That would actually be very good I’m not sure why they don’t 🧡

Hope the owner was happy with your bang-up job, she's got a very very smart bike back. I really like those TRP direct mount brakes.
Thanks as always for the support 🧡
Cracking job gents 🎉
Thank you as always!🧡
Good morning Gents: detailed and considered work as always.....a great bike back to A1 condition 👍 have a good weekend gents!

Amazing looking bike
love you content as always!
Thanks again for coming back and joining us 🧡
I'm afraid I'm ocd enough to remove the bottle cages when I'm cleaning a bike ! Loving your work as always.
Best way 🧡
Nice trick with the shrink wrap!
I love to get the chance to use it🧡
Nice bike, ready to roll again.
Thanks Tinnis!🧡
all about the details :) nice work, cheers
Thanks very much!🧡
Love these rebuild videos but the front tire has its pattern in reverse... Nothing major everything else seems just perfect as always! Cheers!

You’ve gotta be kidding that people are riding with brakes rubbing that hard. Such noise would be killing me 😅
Nice job guy's 👍👍👍👍

Top job 👍

Yes that’s normal in my experience, I couldn’t tell you why but yes 🧡
Good job! Any reason why front tire has wrong rotation?
Yes we swapped it after filming but had a limited amount of light left for the day so did it after our filming time 🧡

Hi Simon!
It would be nice if you told us the torque values of the different components as you service the bikes...ta
The same component of various brands can have different torque specs. For example, you can't torque down the faceplate of an ExtraLite stem as much as an FSA's.
Hey! Long time fan! Question, what solution/product do you use in the ultrasonic cleaner?

You're likely doing it. But not showing often that the seatpost is taken out and regreased?
Rrrrriiiiimmmm Brakes!
Disk brakes stops to admire and gloat!
Americans out there… “Tie wrap” is a zip tie.
Hi can please ask you for the name of the very last song. I searched the LAKEY INSPIRED catalogue but had no luck.

Di2 with mechanical rim brakes. Feel that’s a strange combo
First time I hear about the Liv brand
YOu must have. It's Giant's ladies bike range
@@COYSMike Oh ok, thanks.
Bee LIV it or not, was suppose to be a ladies bike.
Do you have the balls to ride one?

@Bikespeeds excuse my thickness, how do you test 0.5% if the chain checker shows 0.75% and 1% or am I missing something? Thanks
It’s a case of eyeballing it, if it half dips into .75% that’s around .50% 🧡
@@Bikespeeds awesome thanks 👍
The front tyre still needs to be flipped though, even in the final shots. It's all about the details! 😇
It was flipped after🧡
