I think people just don’t give enough credit to how good the drop is. I rode oblivion at Alton towers and the drop completely caught me off guard with how good it was. I think we are actually in the golden age of the dives, as we have got 4 dives in 3 years, as well as the potential first giga dive on the way
As alton towers as my HP, oblivion is a really unique dive coaster. Despite being the first, there's something special about staring down into that deep tunnel since oblivion's drop is actually about 180ft.
another thing is dive coaster always go into an immlamenn right after the first drop, but since, great america is my home park I can't wait to ride Wrath of Rakshasa since it will be my first dive coaster I do hope that B&M and over texas does something better then going into an immalmenn after the drop
Having ridden Yukon Striker at my home of Canada’s Wonderland lots of times, I love the ride experience and there is so much potential for future models. I’d love to see a dive coaster with a massive batwing (or bowtie) element in place of the Immelmann. Heck, even a cobra roll or a sea serpent roll would work as well.
I’ve never had a chance to ride one yet so I want to experience one soon I’ll probably be the one in fiesta Texas, but I am loving the fact that we’re getting one at my home park Six Flags over Texas 4:36
I rode valraven the year it opened and thought it was meh. Rode it again this past season and was surprised by it. A lot more floater than I remember there being. Rode it two more times before the season was over and now I want to try riding other dives. I sit back row only if I can. It makes it feel like it helps.
One Or a Few Words Layout Shortness everyone rides them for the one Trick Pony Feature even though I like that dangling over the first Drop as well as the Steep Climb on the Lift Hill but the Rest of the Layout ends too soon even On Iron Menace This Year at Dorney Which is an Hour From Where I live in New Jersey it Pulled Great Forces but the layout Did Feel Short but definitely not as short As Sheikra or Griffon the OG’s Of American Dive Coasters
Wrath will be very popular at SFGAm. Most park goers are NOT enthusiasts. A high capacity ride is needed in a very popular busy park. I’m personally looking forward to it.
Dives have been one trick ponies due to immediately going into break runs after just one element. The only people complaining are enthusiast, parks nor manufacturers care about that less than 1 percent demographic. 2026 will be Cedar Fairs first coasters for Six Flags parks (Great Adventure and Over Texas.) thankfully SFOT has been advanced to a priority tier park again. Dive coaster is not be my first choice but this is the perfect edition for SFOT since dive machines are visually appealing to general public over most other designs and that attendance will push corporate to keep SFOT on a consistent schedule as SFGAdv for large coaster editions. Not to mention, SFOT is long overdue for a B&M and a multi-inversion looper. This model checks all the boxes and gives enthusiast a 300+ foot drop. SFOT unlike SFFT, SFGam, SFOG, and SFDK doesn’t have a 200ft height clearance making it the perfect park to host it. If anything, it will likely be a better ride than Titan, a vertical 300ft + drop that includes an airtime hill is all that’s needed to outdo Titan. On another note, I think CF wants to trump Six Flags efforts not just for profits but out of ego by installing superior rides than SF ever did.
Dive coasters aren’t going anywhere. They are capacity machines, reliable for the most part and they are crowd pleasers. The GP love them!!!! Sometimes I think we enthusiast need to think more realistically when it comes to the attractions most parks will choose. We are a very small percentage of the attendance at any park.
I must be one of the weird ones i rather have a good short one then something that doesn't do much except having length. Have done quite a few differnt ones and while its not my favorite model they are all fun so i don't mind them being there. Look at orion at kings, i sort of like every dive coaster i ve done better then that one. Don't get me wrong i don't think Orion is a bad coaster but it just doesn't do it for me.
Because most of the time they don’t really do much and the only selling point is the drop and the rest of the layout is really lackluster also oblivion doesn’t count it just doesn’t
Yes I do believe we are getting a giga because savage mister (who if you don't know he's another six flags over Texas enthusiast) has a video from about a week or two ago that he has proof from an employee who leaked some blueprints on a Facebook page and it said something along The lines of 300+ ft dive coaster where la vibora once stood and El Diablo of course
Haha that's why I have a love hate relationship with Batman the ride. It is such a a good ride but the roughness and headbanging makes it so much worse that it needs to be
As an enthousiast with over a thousand creds i can tell you we aren't all like that. I don't really give a rats ass about the stats for me is do i like this ride yes? Then its a good coaster. Also i rather ride then stand in line so if a line is short for whats for me a fun coaster. I rather reride that one. But another thing is the look and feel of a park or atraction. Does it have a pleasant and relaxed immersive athmosphere then standing inline isn't that bad. Cause like you said its about having fun. Stats are just a nice thing of seizone to bla bla about when you can't ride anyway. And its something that we DO like to do when we can't ride or are discussing differnt coasters with each other, but thats nerds talking to nerds basicly and thats usualy also fun for us to.
Wrath of raksasha was a really dumb move that's not going to be the best coaster in the park and this park is screaming for an amazing ride. A new vekoma an intamin anything but that. It's sad that old men make these decisions
I'll be real, I'm also not a fan of them, but at the same time we needed that extra capacity, our last 2 coaster have been bad with capacity and the park needed a capacity machine
@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois Been there this year for the first time and you are correct after an hour and half after opening the park is to busy for its ride capacity. So a couple of slightly worse capacity machine are a better option for the park. I know i would rather ride a decent coaster then stand in inline for an excellent one. And these things are usualy decent coasters. They should seriously consider removing some of the less capacity coaters and replacing them. What where the thinking to put a ride in like Maxx force. Don't get me wrong i like the thing but it looked to me that it was a bit lacking in capacity. Also that woody in the back of the park if it ain't a really old one that can go. Whats up with it only running one train and just half a day. You can easely place 2 smaller coasters there. A Bermuda blitz (lech coaster) from vecoma and a smaller launch coaster or something as compact as Taron.

Oblivion might be the best drop on a dive bc of the tunnel while most dives just happen to have the drop (also baron at efteling looks great)
As alton towers as my HP, oblivion is a really unique dive coaster. Despite being the first, there's something special about staring down into that deep tunnel since oblivion's drop is actually about 180ft.
The restraints do it for me no airtime at all

Same maybe a huge batwing type element or extra inversions
@@JBThrills or a zero g roll after the first drop into a dive loop right after

So lucky to have Canada’s wonderland as your HP bro 🔥
Yukon is a good coaster, not just for a b&m dive. The drop is insane and it’s actually quite intense, plus the zero g winder is really good!
I’ve never had a chance to ride one yet so I want to experience one soon I’ll probably be the one in fiesta Texas, but I am loving the fact that we’re getting one at my home park Six Flags over Texas 4:36
Yeah I've never ridden a dive coaster either but id love to visit fiesta TX someday or just wait till 2026 for over TX to get one 😂

I love dive coasters and a really excited for the new one coming to over Texas. I feel that it would be a great fit for sfot.
Especially if the Dive coaster is over 300ft in SFOT

I have only experienced Valravn. I love it but I think the ride is very short

I think the best part of Valravn is the third inversion. the hang time feels insane to me
Hangtime is such a fun feeling
Dives are fun. But the older restraints are superior. It’s gonna be a sad day when Sheikra and Griffon get vests..

Completely agree short punchy rides are better than long drawn out ones

I definitely know savage, and the employee sent me photos too. It’s pretty much confirmed
Ok awesome 😎🔥
Sidewinder is leaving
Enthusiasts are obsessed with airtime and extreme forces. Sheer fun isn’t good enough
Ngl the more i think about it Im one of those sheer fun enthusiasts. I barely hate rides unless they’re rough

It's really only the enthusiasts that don't like them because they seem like a gimmick. The general public loves dives
could it be cause there are too many?
New vid🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 (first)
I dont hate them, i just think theyre boring.
Because they are nearly all the same.
