Absolutely fantastic album!

When Myles is singing about his father, he's talking about his stepfather having passed away during this album's creation. His biological father had died when he was a teenager and the circumstances surrounding that caused him to shun religion. Of course he loved his biological father, but he ended up having a very close and meaningful relationship with his stepfather, something he has said on numerous occasions about how much he loved and appreciated the man for being such a great dad to him and husband to his mom. The man was a pastor but that didn't stop the two of them from having a wonderful relationship. I get a little choked up whenever I hear those lines. So moving.
There simply is no bad AB track. They'd have to be one of the most consistently excellent bands around.
I used to say I couldn’t find a bad AB song, but then they released Walk The Sky, which in my opinion is FAR AND AWAY THEIR WORST (which isn’t saying much because I loved every album up until that one) I will also admit The Last Hero was my least favorite album before WTS came out. I wouldn’t say TLH was necessarily “bad” but it just didn’t hit me like their first 4 albums did!!
These guys are all around my age. I’ll be 53 this week. They still rock so hard!! Going to see them in may again in Greensboro nc. They are, by far, the best rock band on the planet!!
Yep, I wish I could afford to see them at that show as well. I’ve been a FANATICAL DEVOTEE of Mark Tremonti since I first heard him on October 22nd,
1997 when I heard Creed on the local radio station in Boston where I grew up. I absolutely love the man’s work. Myles is also a favorite of mine especially because his lyrics just hit me differently. I couldn’t figure out why especially AB III and then about 6-7 years ago I found out that like myself, he’s an Atheist. I’ve lived down here in N.C. since I was stationed here in ‘09 after being in Alaska for 3 years and Turkey as well. I saw them one time back during the first year of “Carolina Rebellion” but now being a fully disabled combat veteran living on an extremely fixed and rather low income (in comparison to what I’d be making if I could still physically work) I simply can’t afford it!! I do LOVE AB, and Tremonti (the band and of course Mark himself) in fact they’re probably my second or third favorite band of all time behind Metallica and maybe Lamb Of God.

This is one of their better albums, and I'm not sure why people dislike it so much. I last saw AB 2 shows before COVID ended their tour. Will be seeing them in March 🥰🤟 Can't wait!!
I don’t think alterbridge fans dislike this album? They just generally preferred the ‘moodier’ three previous albums… I love this album The Last Hero! It is chock filled with absolute bangers! Its my 4 th favorite after the three immediately preceding it. Its better than One Day Remains and Walk the Sky. Similar to their latest Pawns and Kings to me, but I’d still put this slightly ahead? AB don’t make bad records💪
The Last Hero is my favorite album. Some fans disliked it because they felt it was too political.

Myles father passed away when he was 4, he is very close to his step-father. I think this is reflected in this part of the lyrics:

@ThWolfHunterZ-Myles wrote this song for his dying mother-in law. She was suppose to have 2 more weeks but died sooner. She did not get to hear the finished song. These 2 parts below was Myles speaking in his wife's voice of what she (wife) would say to her mom and dad:

For this to be a least favorite speaks to how obscenely awesome they are and how high their standards are.
