I have social anxiety and its been the worst thing Ive ever had to deal with, i don't have any friends (that's a whole different story) and i stay inside all day long watching youtube videos, singing, and listening to music. i wont even go to the store let alone a party. This song truely inspires me to do what i love (sing) and im gonna go after my dreams despite what people think of me, ill put on a brave face and keep chasing my dreams. I've never met anyone who really understands so the fact that my idol does makes me just so happy! I knew exactly what the song was about the first time i listen to it because i relate so much, and this made my whole life! thank you andy!
I also suffer from social anxiety. As well as depression. I was a little hesitant to listen to "we don't have to dance". The title sounded a little too pop-ish. The beat was okay, a little more towards pop. Then he started singing and heard the lyrics and fell in love with it.

I'm so proud of him and BVB's success so far. And truly this song does describe a lot that people like him and me and many other hate to face. I felt really moved by this really moved indeed.

Most of the comments here are about Andy and/or Patrick, but I just want to take a moment and say that...it's quite odd to know that Andy has social anxiety(something I struggle with at times). I just never expected that out of him, though it does explain why he's so introverted. Honestly, after every song I hear, whether it be from the band or Andy Black, it's easier to see past their fame and into who they really are, and I love how they've shared, essentially, their whole lives with a bunch of strangers. That takes guts to do, and I respect them so much for it.
On a another note, everyone else is fangirling, so I might as well.

I have such bad social anxiety. I mean, if I am invited to a friends house I stand at the door on the room, when I order my food at a restaurant I am a total mess. So this song helps me in a lot of ways, along with stay alive which just got on my phone 5 minutes ago. It reminds me of everything I'm worth for and I feel okay.
I can certainly relate to "We Don't Have To Dance", and in more ways than one. I mean, I don't know if I have social anxiety, but I hate talking to people. Parties are *never* fun, and I hate it when people look at me... This has given me a whole new respect for this song and it's creators. 😊
