yeah but Hot Topic was made for the "freaks", the people who want to wear alternative things and listen to alternative music and be different. If it was only for popular things then you wouldn't see the metal and rock and punk bands there.
Well in a way it is good that they sell 1D, Bieber and artists like that is because it helps them make more money and there's less of a chance of them losing money since they sell that type of stuff there as well. Also some of the people who listen to alternative,rock,post-hardcore, e.t.c. listen to some pop music including myself but mainly rock and genres like that. But I see where you guys are coming from.
I love Andy and Hot Topic so much. He is completely right by saying people have problems with younger kids wanting to dress that way and listen to that music. My parents are really stereotypical about bands and stuff so i am not allowed to get band shirts and it drives me insane. They always say to be yourself...but when you try they don't accept you. Hot Topic is a place where I feel like I belong and that I can be myself...and love that. So thank you...

I love Hot Topic for the reason he mentioned about being a place for alternative kids outside of big cities. But, also I’ve noticed the employees there are really nice! I’ve talked to them about everything from where I got my boots (she was sad they didn’t sell boots like that at hot topic anymore) to Marilyn Manson to fandom stuff! They’re always super nice to me and (while it may be fake) they always seem genuinely happy to be there.
