I've been a fan of MCR since 2005. Sooooo You can imagine how I reacted when they broke up. It amazes me that people are just now discovering how awesome they really were. I miss them so much.

Honestly I only started listening to them last year. I really like them now and am upset that I never listened to them before their split
Sadly back in 2005, I was 4 and was not able to listen to them. But now I listen to MCR, Gerard's new music and Franks new music and Mikey's new music as well! I wish I could time travel to see them live though!!
MCR has a DVD of them live for the Black Parade so I would suggest to check that out.

same :( I didn't have internet up until summer 2012, and I was still mainstream stuff too, so when I started listening to mcr they had already broken up.
I have always hated mainstream pop. My favorite bands of all time have almost always been FIR, BVB, MCR, P!ATD, and some classics such as Guns 'N' Roses, Fleetwood Mac, and the infamous AC/DC.
That's too bad, because MCR was basically my childhood and I'm 18 now. The very first song I heard from them was Helena and I remember being like 7 or 8, I think? I'm not sure but it was pretty awesome and captivating at the same time and I loved their work ever since.
I thought I was the only one. I missed the boat too doing the same. I'm so angry with myself. GRRR,YOUNGER ME WHY!?

I knew about MCR and heard a few of their songs while they were still popular. 1 year and a half after they broke up, I decided I'd listen to them to see what all the fuss was about.
Every day from then on I shed a single tear when I wake up in the morning. Every day that MCR is broken up is a day in which crying is completely justifiable.
I feel so sad that I only really got into My Chemical Romance full on 3 weeks ago and I most likely won't ever get to see them live. The biggest pain I felt from it is that The Black Parade means so much to me, and I wanted so badly to see a 10th anniversary show. Someone call Gerard Way and tell him how much the world still needs My Chemical Romance!!!

I didn't discover MCR until recently and every time I hear one of their songs or watch one of their interviews I want to kick myself for missing such talent for all those years. I wasted my time listening to Lady Gaga and Soulja Boy and other pop garbage on the radio. I was going through some really emotional and distressing times a few years ago and I really feel like if I had MCR at the time it would have helped me along the way and made the journey a bit easier. I am actually quite disappointed in myself. I missed the opportunity to see them live, listen to their interviews on air, they have gifted us with their music and I at least have that for now. They have helped me with what I've been going through recently I wish I was a fan sooner!!

MCR has made up about a good 4 years of my life now, and I'm forever grateful for their contributions to the world of music. I was devastated to hear about the end of the band, but it's comforting to know that they have helped save and inspired hundreds of thousands around the world. And that makes them pretty awesome, even if you may not like them or their music.
SupaSmartCellistGirl If you get a chance, even if they're not playing together, catch Frank Iero and the Cellobrations. We saw thing a few months ago in a small venue, they were fantastic. I hope Gerard comes back for another tour, we'll definitely catch him. MCR live was awesome and I think they'll all continue to do good things.

Even tho I grieve over their breakup. Fans haven't put together the clues. Every member still likes each other, they are still friends. Gerard and Mikey still play together. And their last song ever was titled "Fake Your Death". Plus no band like MCR would just suddenly breakup. I believe they will come back soon.
Also Andy's voice soothes me.

I became obsessed with them like in about August 2014 and then I found out that they broke up, I don't know why but I have an unique and strange emotional connection with this band. It's just awesome

I had heard about MCR years ago but I never looked them up, until August 2014 when I heard Na Na Na and I was like "yeah that sounds great I should listen to their other songs" and of course I cried when I found out that they broke up, but I do really feel an extremely strong emotional connection with this band... Their songs somehow describe my feelings and make me feel all kinds of emotions like no other band before. My favorite song is "I'm not okay" and when I listened to it for the first time, I swear to god my heart started to physically ache, like it literally felt like someone was holding my heart in his hand and squeezed it...

i love that andy puts so much into everything he says and really thinks about what he wants to say and what points he wants to make. not enough musicians do that, and the ones that do tend to be low key bands. so it's nice to see someone who's successful (like andy, bvb, ptv, sws, and om&m) putting so much thought into what they say before really saying anything.

I adore concept albums; in fact I really like the story behind Wretched And Divine, and knowing it was inspired by MCR, one of the bands who have had (and still have) a huge contribute on the different ideas of concept album on me (and I think on quite a lot of other people) it's very nice and makes me feel kinda proud of the fact that people keep being inspired to create something new by them and don't ignore a, in my opinion, important part of the music of the first decades of 2000
