Just throwing this out there; that type of jamming on that 45 in MGS5 is called a "stove pipe". Usually that happens when you're using under powered ammo, your gun is dirty or both. However take notice in the Snake Eater footage that Ocelots Makarov jammed WITHOUT him firing; which I'm lead to believe was a production over sight on not fully understanding gun jamming.
Loading Gears Yes as is implied in the footage...however what I'm saying is this; Young Ocelot loads his Makarov, racks the slide and tries to pull the trigger. When you hear the snapping sound of the gun we see a round lodged making a jam. What I'm pointing out is Ocelot's gun DID NOT FIRE before jamming. It JAMMED and could not fire. Believe me I have watched that scene more times than I can count and we see Ocelot point, try to shoot, jam...that's not how a jam happens. What I'm pointing out is that the Diamond Dogs gun was fired until it stove piped which is accurate to real life firing where the MGS3 footage is not.
There is a third very common cause of stove piping: limp worsting the firearm. When too much of the recoil is absorbed in the arm it interferes with the action. Stable shooting platform is what allows the action to fully cycle.
@@d4v1dth3k1ng I've long wondered about the technique Snake was talking about. So that's it? It's about limp-wristing which isn't a problem with revolvers but causes problems with semi-autos?
@@javierpatag3609 Yes. The recoil is vital in cycling the pistol if its automatic. If it moves too much, it'll dampen the recoil, and the gun will possibly jam. _Most_ of the time it doesn't occur like that, what happens is the upper receiver (the sliding part), doesn't fully seat, so the firing pin can't reach the cartridge. It can get bad enough (if, you know, you're showing off by swinging the pistol around) that you dislodge the cartridge.

MGS 5 was a pretty huge improvement for the MGS franchise that i can agree with, but it's story was actually one off the *BEST* parts about it. Though i can't say the story was somehow an "Improvement" for the franchise, It was definitely something unique and different than the normal over the top, bad anime style, and cartoonish bosses and characters like the others. The story actually took it self serious, with a lot off realism throughout, especially how the main characters were acting. Plus that not even counting that the story itself was really solid, with a lot off interesting themes, and ideals, which can only come from kojima. I do think alot off MGS fans miss judged the story, thinking that the game need to be bigger or better that what came before, because it was the last game. But that was never the point, if MGS 5 was "bigger and better" with the best boss fights in the series or had the longest cut scenes, than that would have taken away what made MGS 4 so special. Which is supposed to be the best one in the whole series, while MGS 5 was the ending off the Big Boss trilogy, which is right in the middle, and ends up setting up the solid snake trilogy almost perfectly. (if you understand it's story) Though the cut scene were shorter they were filled with a good amount off visual storytelling, which kojima thought his fans were mature enough to handle this style, but i guess Alot went over peoples heads or something, because people thought they were just dull. I like the voice in the background. It makes me think it's one of the other soldiers laughing at his partner.
Lol. Someone else commented that exact thing
how to ruin a good scene? insert obnoxious laughter every time
aw..
Kite rude
jonny j u are 1 year late
His laughing made the scene gold dude
He got the clip from a let’s play he has
Holy shit, how did I not catch this the first time around
Shit, MGS 3 kicks MGS 5's ass SO FUcKIN' HARD when it comes to storyline... what was Kojima thinking? One thing is having small references to past games which is always cool but repeating two scenes, one of them word by word, is a bit too much IMO
something something moby dick. something something symbolic
He wasn't.
He cared more for gameplay than the story which is better.
Howya Doin Too bad the gameplay gets boring really fast when all you do is mundane as hell missions all the time, and without an actual story or characters to carry it out it's even worse
sebastian feijoo Morons these days...(yes I am talking about you).
I thought the laughing was from the soldier as he brandished his weapon
That’s dope though
Him just laughing in the background is adorable >∆
"I was humiliated like this once. Now, you will be too!"
Nostalgia level over 9000
Even if the engravings doesn’t give you tactical advantage, it may give a sign of recognition that the gun was his/her weapon of choice
Stuff like this makes me happy
Then ocelot walks away with the soldiers gun. Leaving him there just holding his magazine
The real reason Ocelot kept his gun was because he was planning to auction it off as a collectors item.
I like how after this seen you get the gun.
i love how ocelot gives advice on shooting, THEN WALKS IN THE RANGE while people still have their guns pointed at him. Let alone the handling of the loaded pistol in the beginning.
Did you know in MGSV, Ocelot tells this man that engraving gives no tactical advantage whatsoever because ins MGS3, Ocelot learn his mistakes
im amaze how ocelot change much in just a few years
20 years
The guy got the exact same gun jam that Ocelot did back then.
When this scene happen for me, it was the scientist who made the robot arm, was firing the gun that jammed.
Ocelot rivalry with Snake bring him so much experience that builded inside him respect for big boss...That's what i like about his caracther. Because he actually leaned from his mistakes!
In the other hand, he got Johnny who get Diarrhea issues and becames a Gunslinger ex machina on MGS4. But no Snake to teach him something
Snake taught him to turn off safety
I wish they made that random NPC ocelot's prodigy or something with a future game having him tell some other NPC that they're pretty good.
the moment ocelot fell in love with the legend
no wonder Venom doesnt get flashbacks from that, he never was there
