Hey guys! Thanks for the positive response on the video so far, so glad to see your lovely comments, really hope this can help some of you :)
Just want to say a massive thank you (and credit) to Shaaba who helped film, and then edited this video! Couldn't have happened without her - go check out her channel here: th-cam.com/channels/jZ97eKgNwC4j-z_6LDjfIg.html

Hey, could you make a video titled "The person who sent you this is transgender" or something similar? It would be super helpful. There are loads of "the person who sent you this is gay/bi" videos on youtube, but none about being trans.
      Also love your videos :P.

Jammidodger I'm never gonna come out. My parents don't believe you can "change" your gender therefore I'm stuck being female :( I bind and all that when I'm alone but whatever it doesn't matter anyway.

Just a thought if yo peeps are transphobic or not accepting of you you can just be like:
"haha got ya it was a prank ha ha LOL"
"stupid auto correct i meant to say ___ "
"oh sorry, my friend ___ sent that, as a joke im not really calm down"
then proceed to call a therapist or counselor or something like that because that environment is damaging and triggering to your mental health potentially leading a bad self image.
hating yourself is disrespecting a trans person and thats not okay
      Edit: typos

I was scared as shit to come out to my dad. I called him on the phone, and I start this big talk, voice all shaky, and finally I just say it- I'm a guy, I'm trans. And then he literally says "well, duh." It was the best thing ever- apparently he'd guessed at it for quite a while and was waiting for me to tell him, or maybe for me to realize it myself, lol. He said the moment I called him saying I had "something big to tell him" he knew immediately I was going to come out to him as trans. Literally, that entire thing could never have possibly gone better than that.

My daughter made it official by sending me a meme and I will treasure that forever. From a parent's perspective I can confirm that there truly is no wrong way to tell us, that every way is the right way. I fully understand how difficult it is for all you transgender people out there, but we are here for you and we will love you unconditionally (and if you are unfortunate to have a so-called parent who doesn't, then hit me up and I will tell you how proud I am of you and I will listen to your stories, I promise

I told him last year in May on the way to work, and he looked at me for two seconds staring. and then he busted out in song, I'll make a man out of you from Mulan. one of the most anticlimactic moments of my life.

I came out to my Dad as a trans man today and it went so well and I feel so lucky and relieved. My Dad is a huge Star Wars fan, so I told him by saying that he has something in common with Tattooine. He has two sons. It took him a little bit, but he realized what I meant and all he asked was if this would make me happy. I said yes and he hugged me and said that that was all he cared about. I cried.

With me it was screaming at the top of my lungs since I was four. But alas now I done seemingly everything society wanted me to do but never to be. I was giving myself a much needed hair cut for this hot summer. My daughter comes into the bathroom unbeknown to me and watches me gleefully trimming to the scalp. From behind me. She piped up, said you definitely need to stop denying your a dude mom/dad how long are we going to limp on this? Your 57. Man up already. Yes indeed you are so right I haven’t got a whole life ahead of me. Time to stop seeming and just be. To have guided such wonderful humans in this dark world fills my heart with joy. That both my kids can see who I really am and encourage me. They are adults now with babies of their own and the youngest calls me poppa he hasn’t got the grand down yet. 18 months. This is the kind of people that should inherit the earth. Love knows nothing but kindness.

My friend came out to me in middle school by writing their new name (new to me) in my yearbook at the end of the school year. I almost didn't notice because they had signed it and it was almost illegible compared to the good summer wishes they wrote. I asked them what it said because I could at least tell that it was a different first letter. So they awkwardly explained that it was a different name. I was so honored that they felt comfortable and close enough with me to even tell me something like that because as far as I know, they came out to most other people by correcting their teachers on the first days of class the following September.

I was also nervous about telling my dad; he's a little more stubborn and close-minded than my mom. I wasn't afraid he'd be angry or anything, mostly I was just scared he wouldn't believe me. Lucky for me, my dad broke the ice for me. He came to me and said if I ever needed to talk to him about anything, like my sexuality, he was here for me. So I, y'know, took the opportunity. He did indeed believe me; mostly he was just worried for me, but you can't keep your parents from being worried about you.

I came out by going for a walk and texted my parents and waited for a response without having to actually talk to them. They were really accepting and nice and honestly they totally expected it. I texted my gran later and she was just as accepting and now all my family and friends know. Some of my friends still refer to me as she/her because they’re awkward about it and afraid to say the wrong thing but everyone uses Alex and most of them he/him pronouns.
The only people who doesn’t know is my extended family on dad’s side of the family, and let’s just say I’m not going to the family Christmas dinner.
This story is from a hardcore Christian family, my mum works as a full time priest and I go to church every Sunday. I wanted to just let you know how well it went for me even though the odds might’ve been against me.
Of course, never come out unless you’re ready and if you might be in danger, but I haven’t regretted it a singe time. Coming out was probably the best experience of my life. :)

I doubt anyone will see this but one way you can come out is if you are in school and your parents talk about your day at dinner you can say something like this.
"So how was your day at school today? "
"Good" You can say or anything else.
"Did you learn anything today? "
"Yeah. So quick question. In health ( or what ever class you think would work) we were talking about genders and they gave us a piece of paper that had a few questions on it. They had things like do you have more male or female friends ( you can use any question you want) and one question asked if we were a boy or a girl and I put boy" ( again use the gender you are. So if your ftm and you want to be called Tim, boy you can say 'I put boy' or if you are mtf and want to be called Fiona, girl you can say 'I put down girl') then ask,
"Are you okay with that" If yes then say.
"Okay (cool, great, thanks. What ever word you want to use) but can you call me" Then say your preferred name.
If they are not okay with it just say something simple like "It was just a dare (pick a name) told me to do" Or you can try to explain that you are Transgender.
I don't know if this will work I never used it. This is just an idea that you can use. If it goes bad cover it up with a different topic or class. Be safe when coming out. I know it is scary but please make sure you will be safe when doing it and have a backup plan just in case it all goes horrible. Stay safe.

Thank you so much for the inspirational video! It was entertaining, creative and also made me feel better about myself. My gender dysphoria can be crippling at times and there are times when it overwhelms me. I am working on helping my parents come to terms with my gender identity as a transgender male. It is difficult because of their cultural Asian stereotypes of binary gender and also that they have specific attributes that they attribute to masculinity and I don't seem to fit those standards. I believe men and women both can be creative, artistic, emotional, empathetic and compassionate. Men don't need to be great at working with tools or doing repairs or good in STEM areas. The stereotypes of gender only limit us from being our true selves. Only when we get rid of the box, can we truly explore who we are as individuals. I love all those who struggle to find who they are because you all are special. Thank you for sharing your story as it inspires many others!

I've been depressed all my life and I always think that something's wrong with me. A lot of things are wrong with me actually. I just thought that I'm a supreme weirdo. Until I got into meditation and self-acceptance practice, and suddenly all is figured out: that I'm actually a boy all along. It all suddenly make sense, and that's the exact shoes that I'll be fitted in. I was in constant denial and kept refusing the thoughts every time it came across since I came from a mildly religious Muslim family--in the biggest Muslim country in the world. This pain me bad. I knew I could never came out or they would kick me out of the house and or even send me somewhere to 'cure' me and violate my rights as a human being. My mother had kick me out of the house before only because I cut my hair off. Now I know that perhaps I wouldn't get the skin that I wanted or live the life with my own proper identity in this world. And if that's the case, I'll be alright. Even though I wish, I hope, a miracle will appear. But I would never be able to live a life as a woman. I could never get married, and I could never mingle in society with my current state. My plan is to find a decent job and buy me a nice house to separate me from my family and all of the people. And just live in isolation until the end of my times. I wish you all a happy and fulfilling life.

Funny thing is, you’re the reason I discovered the term transgender existed and started questioning my gender, discovering myself along the way! I had no idea it existed before but I’m so glad I found out; I didn’t feel alone anymore, because there were more people like me out there, so thank you. You helped me keep hope and learn more about myself,

I came out to my mom and brother via email. I told my mom that she could tell any family members that she wanted to. She told my aunt, but said that I should personally come out to my grandparents. I wrote a letter to my grandparents coming out as trans and thankfully my family is very accepting!

    Hi Jamie,
I really like your videos eventhough I know you exist for only 4 days now..
I just wanted to say that in these 4 days your videos really changed things for me. 5 years ago I realized I'm transgender although I've always known there's something different about me compared to "the other" girls but your videos have made me really think about what I want with my life.
Long story short (or at least shorter), I literally just came out to my mum. I tried to tell her before twice, but she didn't take me seriously. Now I feel like she actually did and I couldn't feel more relieved.
I'm really terrified for the future and all its changes and in which order I want to set them in motion, but I choose to be hopeful and optimistic.
Anyway, thank you for being you and for your videos.
    Love

    “Sure, what is it?”
“I can’t quite seem to find the proper words...”
    “C’mon sweetie, don’t be scared”
“Uhh... I don’t know, im too scared of your reaction”
“C’mon darling. Are the girls bullying you again?”
    “No its not that”
    “What is it then?”
    “Uhhh... try to guess”
    “No, tell me.”
    “I’m... im a trans woman”
“Oh... okay... wanna pick another name? :)”

I’m gonna come out as trans to my mom with the help of my therapist soon. My mom can be open minded but she gets wrapped up in older thinking. After my brother (they’re okay with me calling them my brother) came out as non binary my mom was completely okay with it. Same with the furry community, she believed they were all low life degenerates, but after my brother taught her otherwise she was super supportive. Plus she really trusts what my therapist says, so it’ll hopefully help her understand

No way... Before 2 hours I had a serious conversation with my parents about me being the way I am and after a lot of crying, emotions and talking they accepted me for who I am! Right after the conversation ended and my parents went to their room I returned back to mine as well, went to my pc seeing this video. What a coincidence I can't stop laughing! :D
For all of you who still haven't come out to your parents or friends (the people you love and trust), it needs a bit of time and understanding.
People are different and everyone takes things differently, but those who truly love you will surely accept you the way you are.
This step is difficult for everyone and it takes time to get the confidence about it.
For me it took me about half a year to slowly start coming out to everyone. First to my very close friends, then to my classmates. It was easy for me to tell them since I know my people and I knew for sure that they will accept me. But the situation for my parents was completely different. When I tried talking about the things that make me uncomfortable, their reaction was sharp and unexpected. They weren't ready to know and I just felt it with my intuition.
Half a year ago I knew this would be a very difficult but important step in my life.
So how I started to show my parents that I am not what they think and wanted me to be?
I first started with removing my earrings. My mom was against it but after 2 or 3 weeks she gave up and allowed me to remove them. While shopping I was taking clothes from the male section and eventually my wardrobe changed with the clothes I feel comfortable in. Soo time and time passed. Before a month I decided that I was ready to cut my hair. I did so and today I finally had the feeling that I'm ready to talk with them. They knew that something wasn't alright. We started talking and I told them. They took it surprisingly well!
It was difficult but very worth trying. With time I gained the confidence needed and I did it.
I hope all of you will have supportive people by your side!
Oh and Jamie, thank you so much for everything you did and for trying to help people with your funny and yet useful videos! Thank you a lot!
