    Spent 2 years with Suddenlink trying to fix issues with packet loss. (Millions of uncorrected packets every day.) had a technician out at least once a month. they kept charging me for the visits, replaced my modem and router multiple times. The technicians had no clue what these values meant. (or if they did they wouldn't tell me.) I had to look them up and tell them. I even picked up an AMP at my expense which helped but if I fixed the upstream the downstream would go bad. (wish i could have had a unidirectional amp at that time.)
    Even used a VNA to test the wire. They kept insisting the problem was on my end. Problem went away "on it's own" with nothing done on my side, when they were working in my area. So, I have to assume it wasn't on my side.
    When you call in they will never ask you for those values, even if you keep a time stamped log of them. I even kept a computer pinging the internet constantly and saving the ping values. With pictures of the modem page with all values shown. They wouldn't even take a look at the log.
    Needless to say, if you have Suddenlink/Optimum, your screwed for getting help and these values are worthless.

    you sir are an amazing human being, i am troubleshooting allot of things in depth and you may have helped me find one issue being low upstream power levels, now to combat that. I have someone coming out to check the server going to all the houses in my area but i may have someone replace the cables going to my house as ive already replaced the ones IN the house with a direct hardwire from their cable (and grounding block) straight to the modem

    After replacing my cable modem and going to a mesh router and oh, replacing the service line to my house, I still have dead slow signal (15mbs). I'm paying for 500mbs. The Spectrum tech installed two new splitters on the incoming line to reduce modem signal strength to acceptable range. Maybe if I follow this recommendation enough times, I'll understand it and find the problem. I've struggled with this cable internet in this neighborhood for 5 years.

    This is old as fuck, I know, but this helped me a lot. Been having packet loss issues for awhile now and just trying to figure out what the problem was. Upstream was at 37, which can cause packet loss when below 40. I'm going to test the lines at other points to see if it improves. I want this problem to just stop.

    You can have bad cable and the number could still be good, so this is not really 100 percent reliable, but the concept is correct.

    If I could offer some constructive criticism? Plan out what you want to say before you say it. This prevents you from repeating yourself over and over again and rambling and helps with clarity. Otherwise I appreciate you making the effort with this video.

    The issue I’m having seems to be the uncorrectable code words. I’ve had 3 Technicians come out and they all claim to have fixed my issue and 2 days later the same issue is occurring again. I’m completely fed up and tired of the monopoly these companies have on one another. Is their any way I could fix the code words on my own? Seems like these Technicians are just a waste of time. Any suggestions? Thanks

    so I have tons of uncorrectable errors and I live in a condo complex and have been having internet outages. that suggests the coax in my unit to the distribution block could be bad?

    I’ve been having network issues especially when gaming a lot of lag and slow gameplay online. But isp keep saying there end is 100 % perfect . I don’t feel they are telling me the truth because I’m having issues how can I prove that they are at fault??

      No I still haven’t been able to get the issue fixed ! What’s weird when I call Comcast the automated machine runs a modem health check and keeps saying my modem is getting error codes

    my downstream power is from -4.2 to -2.5 and i notice my gigagbit speeds fluctuating a lot from 500mbps to 920mbps maybe is because of this also i got a 2gb nic card but i dont get 1200MbPs
