      King_Omar_Dos how could you not, if you don't care for the morality aspect of it then how about the environment? Surely you care about the environment you live in right? You realize that the dairy and meat industries is a large factor of the ecosystem being destroyed because so many animals are going extinct. Also theres the argument about your health

    • @fantasticsomething304
      @fantasticsomething304 6 ปีที่แล้ว +88

      King_Omar_Dos You don't care about the environment??? Lmao you do realize that if the environment gets too damaged (ecosystem gets destroyed) human life can't survive. I mean if you don't care about any other life, at least you can be selfish enough to care about yours right??? And yes scientists are literally screaming at the public that 30%-50% percent of animals will be extinct by the half of this century if we continue at the rate we're going. Large part of the problem is dairy and meat industry. And if that many animals go extinct, you bet your ass our ecosystem will be fucked. Don't you wanna help us to fix that problem???

    • @fantasticsomething304
      @fantasticsomething304 6 ปีที่แล้ว +57

      King_Omar_Dos ??? oh dear lord lol. If any vegan activists were to see your comment their minds would explode. And scientists would also agree thats not true. And in case your not sure, I'm not talking about farm animals going extinct. Farmers wouldn't let that happen because they wouldn't wanna lose their business. Farmers practice cattle grazing which is the cattle eating the grass off the land. However over time with human population density the land eventually gets degraded and exhausted. So farmers go out and find new land to graze, which means they gotta destroy natural habitats, cut down trees etc. Leads to extinction of species

    • @fantasticsomething304
      @fantasticsomething304 6 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      King_Omar_Dos Just research on google like endangered species. How the different natural habitats are being affected by humans. Look into what are all the different factors of species extinction. And you'll find that a large part of the problem is the dairy and meat industry. You should find plenty of case studies regarding it. I think its very important that you look into this because this will effect you in your life, as it will also effect the rest of us.

      Because idiots are screaming at vegatarian and meat eaters, oh wait, those idiots are vegans. I'm surprised and glad for vegans who don't shove it down other's throats, but m also never being vegan is because you don't really eat anything. I don't eat meat but I get eggs from free chickens who are treated like royalty and have their eggs checked to see if they have babies. And I get milk from it the same way.

    • @keithtaylor3347
      @keithtaylor3347 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@parkerdinhwilliams15 The climate change propaganda is just another panic tactic used by certain elements that want to push a scare agenda.
      The climate is ALWAYS changing: there was a period dubbed "the little ice age" (Google it) between the 13th and 16th centuries, when most of Europe underwent a period of lower temperatures than had been experienced before. As we don't really have records going all the way back to then, we have to rely on certain evidence supplied by scientists and NASA.
      I won't dispute that Earth MAY be warming -but we in South Africa have experienced some record LOWS this winter and who can say with utmost certainty that it is caused by human activities? It could just as well be caused by natural cycles we have yet to understand. Relying too much on what one hears on the news is no way to form a coherent understanding of what is going on: I discovered that some 50 years ago, when I had just entered my second decade of life.
      If you don't like what I have to say, I really don't care: you can live your silly little life any way you want. I will live mine as I please and there is not much you or anyone else can do about it.
      As for what you suggested I do with my "propaganda", I wish you the same and I can even be so kind as to send you a few segments of jointed cactus, the more to enjoy the experience.

      Ayyy lmao - That's not the argument vegans are making. We're simply exposing the weakness in the argument that one HAS to use a body part for its designated function. A person pointing to their canines when someone asks why they've eaten an animal is akin to a person pointing to their crotch whenever a cop asks why they sexually assaulted a woman. The reality is that canines are designed to bite into fibrous fruit & veggies, they're not sharp enough to tear into flesh. So yeah I actually CAN eat plants like vegetables and fruits without a fork or knife. So either way, your argument becomes moot.

      Keith Taylor I spend most my life outside with animals. I’m just trying to say that it’s not like they depend on meat to live. I’ve seen many cases of herbivores eating other animals. On accident and on purpose. Whether it be deer eating baby birds or a horse eating a baby chick. It happens. But it’s not key for their survival unless they’re in a desperate situation. I guess you can also count the numerous amount of bugs they eat as well. But they still do not use their canines for such behaviors. They’d chew the critters like they chew plants lol

      Your BRAIN is made up of CHOLESTEROL which is ONLY available from eating ANIMALS. , so is your HEART, liver and other organs. Cholesterol is used to make TESTOSTERONE AND ESTROGEN as well as proving ESSENTIAL cellular functioning. If fact, low CHOLESTEROL LEVELS can even lead to SUICIDE. PLANTS provide ZERO CHOLESTEROL, and you need it EVERY DAY . Read the article published by your LIBERAL HARVARD EDU newsletter - If your brain has enough cholesterol left to read with - Seems YOU are the stupid one. Then read the rest of the reasons you cannot live without meat. (I googled it for you because you didnt)
      www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/cholesterol-the-mind-and-the-brain
      Vegans rate of SUICIDE is 33% HIGHER than general population.
      www.humanewatch.org/new-evidence-suggests-link-between-vegetarianism-and-depression/
      BEYOND MEAT and other veggie burgers have ANIMAL FAT listed as an ingredient as well as CANCER CAUSING INGREDIENTS AND LAXATIVES. The PROFIT according to stockholder records is 600%, on BEEF its 5%. WHY SUCH THIEVES RUNNING THE COMPANY and SUCKERS buying the BEEF LADEN FAKE VEGGIE BURGERS - Are you THAT STUPID - I LAUGH AT YOU while I am eating my FILET MIGNON!!!! Do you know what ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS ARE???? NOT FOUND IN VEGGIES AND THEY ARE ESSENTIAL FOR LIFE. YOU ARE GONNA DIE eating veggies. You animal rights activists are ALL ABOUT PROFITS. Your followers need a BRAIN. Did you know your BRAIN is made of CHOLESTEROL. What VEGETABLE IS PROVIDES CHOLESTEROL? NONE - THATS why VEGANs are SOOO stupid!!! Animal poop is used for FERTILIZER. So how do you fertilize the plants without animal fertilizer. You can use ARTIFICIAL FERTILIZER made from PETROLEUM - Yes, that is what MONSANTO uses to make fertilizer. GASOLINE !!! YES, you are eating veggies made from GASOLINE. Our CO2 levels are at 400 ppm, they used to be at 4,000 ppm. Did you know that PLANTS DIE when CO2 levels reach 300. How do you explain loving plants, wanting to use them for your ONLY food source - Yet you INSIST that we must kill the FOOD PLANTS EAT - THEY EAT CO2 and kick out Oxygen. If the PLANTS DIE we die too because we will have no OXYGEN!!! YOU PEOPLE ARE SOOO STUPID. - ENJOY DUMBO!!! Go getta burger and SHADDUP - Let SMART MEN rule the earth before you destroy it.

      Does that really make a difference? GOD wanted a sacrifice of MEAT, which is the reason He "had not respect" for Cain's offering of "the fruit of the ground".
      Numbers 28 and 29 details how many rams, lambs and bullocks He demands every year as offerings.
      He also laid out in Deuteronomy 14 and Leviticus 11 "the beasts that ye shall eat". Notice please: not "ye MAY eat", but "ye SHALL eat". You WILL eat the "flesh" of these animals: You have to ask yourself whether God's commands have less importance than your choices.

Death is the price of sin and therefore it did not exist until after the original sin. @@CorporealGinger It's your prerogative to believe anything you like. If you think that your sins are atoned for, by all means go for it. I have yet to find any text in which Jesus says something like: "Okay now: I've come to relieve you of the burdens of the sins of the past, so you can, from now on, ignore all the old rules and regulations my father laid down and just try to behave yourselves."
      The problem with Christians (and no doubt other followers of the Bible or its predecessors) is that they INTERPRET what they read, instead of taking it at face value. I have studied Genesis 1 to 5 for more than forty years - I have not gone beyond that, because in the "begat" verses nothing significant seems to have happened for between a quarter and a third of the history of the ancient Hebrews. A few isolated incidents are mentioned, but nothing of great moment - and I have found that the current interpretation is severely lacking. For instance, in verse 2 of Genesis 1 we are told that "darkness was on the face of the deep". How could this darkness be distinguished BEFORE God said "Let there be light"? What was the nature of that "first" light he called forth and did He switch it off again after he made the sun, moon and stars - on the FOURTH day?
      If they (the readers and interpreters of the Bible) haven't noticed something so simple, then what makes you think they (and you) can understand anything else that is written there?

    Our “canines” (which are actually called bicuspids) are for popping open nuts and seeds, and gripping harder vegetation before slicing it with our incisors. Our molars are flat and broad for chewing tough fibres and jaws move side to side and up and down. Like herbivores.
    We are herbivorous animals and were only ever supposed to be opportunistic when we did scavenge meat. We were at the end of the food chain the whole time, never at the top. Our ancestors even waited for the vultures to pick a carcass clean before we sidled up and used rocks to get bone marrow out. But the majority of the Homo Habulis diet, Homo Aghasta, and Homo Erectus...? It was plants. Roots, seeds, nuts, fruits, tubers, and leaves.
    When early Homo sapiens adopted the idea of growing things, our gut bacteria and enzymes were comfortable to make the small shift to utilise easier starchy sugars for producing energy and protein alongside the amino acids we already acquired from leafy greens.

      The proof you requested is in Genesis 9:3 "...Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things."
      Notice the wording: EVERY moving thing that lives ... meaning ALL animals, birds, fishes, crustaceans etc., and also plants. Moses would later make certain exceptions to this rule. He did not STOP the people eating meat, but told them which they could freely eat. Leviticus 11:1 onward and Deuteronomy 14: 3 - 21.
      If you want to use God in your argument, at least know what the hell you're talking about.

    • @SS-uf7ks
      @SS-uf7ks 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lydia, in what way are humans the most developed species on the planet? If you're referring to being the most dominant (not necessarily a good thing nor sign of intelligence) then I can't argue that, but if you're referring to developed brains or minds or consciousness, what gives you the authority to assess this? When people think that they're more consciously aware or more intelligent than non-human animals, they're rounding up all the species on planet earth (many of which we don't even know exist), and deciding that from THEIR perspective and THEIR short period of experience here and THEIR values and THEIR priorities that THEIR species is the most developed... Do you not see a flaw or perhaps a bias in that way of thinking? The secret to wisdom, is humility.
      Your statement that other animals are not as aware as your species is as ignorant and offensive as when Europeans said that the Indigenous of North America or Australia and so on were not as aware, for example. You have no authority to make such a broad assessment of anyone else and that way of thinking has been an ugly pattern throughout history and speciesism is the root of it; speciesism is the root of the belief that those who look differently or act differently or communicate differently are somehow less than in one or various ways.
      It's such an unthoughtful thing to say... it's completely coming from a place of your own perspective. Literally anyone else... anyone, could say the same exact thing about you. I could say that you're not as aware as me or your grandmother was not as aware as my grandmother because *insert some difference here*... there's no logic, it's complete nonsense to say the least. It is the mother of prejudice.
      I assure you, that at the very least, non-human animals are as aware as human beings.

    • @SS-uf7ks
      @SS-uf7ks 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL, dear God NO... no I do not. First of all, humans do not all equally have the same level of intellect, some are vastly superior/inferior to others. I think humans have an intellect specific to HUMANS which enables us to do a great many of things for better or for worse... How we choose to use this ability I believe speaks very loudly of one's personal intellectual level. You've never seen a cow develop a pyramid... ok, so AGAIN you're measuring intellect and advancement through your OWN set of priorities and ideas of what intelligence means... To say the least, that is an extremely flawed way of thinking.
      Consider this... what if man's idea of intelligence is completely skewed? That might actually explain why our species is so devastating to this planet and all life on it including our own.
      Lastly, have you or anyone you've known developed a pyramid or a space shuttle? ....Didn't think so. So then why are you taking the capabilities of specific human individuals and applying them to you and everyone you know? Maybe you could do those things, I don't know... but do you get my point?

    Christians who say that God gave us animals to eat must go and read the book of Genesis.
    Genesis 1:29-39: Then God said, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky and the small animals that scurry along the ground- everything that has life." Note that God gives us PLANTS to eat, not animals. In Genesis 1:26 God orders us to "Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." God has ordered man to Reign and Protect over the animals as he Reigns and Protects over us. God gives us "dominion" over animals which means that we should protect and care for them.I also think Christians should question whether it glorifies and brings God joy when we mistreat and misuse the animals that He has created. God created animals to live in harmony with us and worship Him.
    Being vegan is not unbiblical or dishonoring to God. I believe that by choosing not to eat animals l am worshiping God by respecting His creation. I believe that we can bring Glory to God by not eating animals.

Have you tried introducing things slowly rather than out and out trying to get them to stop eating meat? Why not offer to cook for the family once a week? Or once or fortnight? It's a good starting point! As for the not wanting to buy you almond milk. I'd use the "health benefits" angle. Tell them you're worried you're not getting enough calcium and explain that one serving of almond milk contains 30% of your RDA. And remember, you want something from them so always be polite, even if they're not, if you lose your temper you'll be much less likely to get what you want...

      fazal ihtisham Start with picking your grocery list for three days: rices for stir fries, gluten free pasta and can of pasta sauce (to last a couple meals), cooked beans like garbanzo (for rice or salad) and black beans (add to pasta or soups), and some variety of root veggies for soup with canned tomatoes, add mixed frozen veggies and fresh chopped kale to each of these dishes/recipes for both lunches and dinners. For breakfast try Ezekiel bread with homemade hashbrowns onbed of kale with tomato sauce(small cut potato slices in oil and a tiny bit of water with spices until soft) or mixed granola with plant based protein powders and fruit, and make sure you have some snacks like humus with natural chips or crackers. buy organic spices in bulk section, nut or seed milks for granola or protein shake (or stirred) and also look up green drinks and other health additions, like flax seed oil, and also try some avocado on spiced coconut oil toast with greens (Ezekiel bread has full amino acids!)... i wish someone told me this years ago.. ; )

      Trying gluten free pastas and breads etc adds lots of rice and potatoes and other grains to our diet that really helps us get a full meal, compared to wheat which "stuffs" us but is not nutritionally filling!

      fazal ihtisham, Try to keep away from the processed meals in the super market. Make sure you eat grains like rice, barley or spelt, etc. Also legumes like beans and lentils. These are a rich source of protein and legumes and grains will keep you full for ages. You must take a vitamin B12 tablet or spray or a fortified vegan milk. For Omega 3, get a bag of flaxseed. Flax seeds have to be ground down for your body to absorb the oil, so grind a couple teaspoons in a coffee grinder and then sprinkle on a sauce, salad, in a smoothie, in muesli, etc. If you stick to whole foods you will be surprised just how cheap a vegan diet really is :)
      Have a look at the British Nutrition Foundation info on a vegan diet. They have good pointers:

    On a video on pinterest where a farmer put a sheep in clothes and sat it in a tractor, I commented my thoughts that it's not right to do this to an animal. That video had so many likes and the backlash was amazing. People are really angry and hateful sometimes, especially online.
    Thanks Ed for being a comforting and confronting voice out there. The amount of backlash you are getting is probably unbelievable high. I'm so grateful for the activist you are to the community.

    I can't get over the spaghetti comment. It makes no sense at all. How does the fact that you can't make spaghetti mean that you should kill animals for food? And just because you can't do something doesn't mean you should pay someone else to do it. I can't do the monkey bars at the park, I'm not going to pay someone to do them for me. It's just as needless as killing animals for their flesh. Daft comment 😂

    • @cyril4046
      @cyril4046 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bobbiee D You didn't understand it. The comment rightly says that the vegan argument according to which we should make the food we eat ourselves means we shouldn't eat meat. That is stupid because vegans don't know how to produce their own food either. It's not a justification for eating meat. It shows the contradiction of this vegan argument.

    • @angela_somanythings5670
      @angela_somanythings5670 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      - There is No Vegan argument that says we have to make our own food!! That sounds like a Pro-small-scale Gardening Argument! the Vegan argument is only that we shouldn't kill animals or have anyone do it for us! wow..

    My dad did some engineering work at a slaughterhouse years ago. He stopped eating lamb. I will never forget his words. 'They know'.

  • @rdubya2388
    @rdubya2388 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My dad used to be an abbatoir manager and yes, he slaughtered animals day in day out. I visited him at work several times over the years when I was a child and teenager. Therefore, I can vouch that, if anything, animals are MORE aware of that which is beyond human perception and sensibility because their senses are not dulled with all the vices (for want of a better word) that bind the majority of humans to their very dulled and dumbed down material existence.
    How does a dog know to go sit by the window or door well before their owner (I prefer guardian...or servant 😁) arrives home? It's because they sense them coming. How do they sniff out cancer and Parkinson's? How come they can read people like a book? Our cat gradually lost weight, becoming thinner and thinner over the course of a few weeks. She was happy, did not appear to be in any discernible pain and was wolfing food down the same as always. Our fantastic vet advised us that, at her age, if all was still well and she wasn't suffering, to leave well enough alone and to come back if anything changed. A couple of weeks later our normally aloof little cat, who'd rather be out on the fields staking out her territory than sitting in any of our laps being pampered, came to each one of us in turn and curled up on our chests as we stroked her. Once she'd done an hour with one of us, she dutifully moved onto the next person until she'd included us all. It was such uncharacteristic behaviour that we just knew that she knew the end was near and was coming to say thanks and goodbye. Later that evening she fell from the dining chair where she had curled up to sleep. I picked her up and she passed away in my arms. The naysayers will say, "Well that's dogs and cats - they are different". No, they're not. It's just that in our society hundreds of years have evolved them into domestic animals. The only difference between them and pigs, chickens, cows, sheep etc. is that the easily subjugated herbivores provided a convenient solution to humans in terms of food. Go and do the research about why we started to eat meat and drink the milk of another species (we are the only animal who does that voluntarily) in the first place. And we've been swallowing the same narrative that's been fed to us ever since, i.e 'Listen to us when we tell you, these animals are for eating and these animals are for petting. And don't try to argue the point. Ok?!!'. No, it's not ok.
    Don't you know that the Dr. who first tried years and years ago to educate people about sugar and how bad it is for health was absolutely villified and barred from practicing for daring to speak out against the big sugar corps? That Dr. had to find an alternative living for himself and so he founded Allinson's bread. The same goes for the tobacco industry.
    To all of you peddling the 'animals don't have feelings', 'we need meat in our diets' or 'climate change doesn't exist' myths, you'll be the ones who are ridiculed in years to come (if not already), not vegans. Vegans will likely be written into history as the saviours.

    Those living beings totally lose it, they try to fight and escape.
    People once said the same bullshit about other human beings: In a old history book I found the extraction of the journal of a clergyman. He was working on a slave ship and wrote that the Africans were like cattle, stupid AND without a soul... in conclusion it was okay to do whatever you felt like doing!
    It is "healthy" to believe in a better future for all living beings BUT we won´t achieve that with humanity sticking around.
    You might be able to change the mind setting of a few people but you are fooling yourself when you truly believe that human beings will wake up one day and see how depraved they are.
    To change means to change every day, make the "right" decisions every day, work hard on yourself and never stop trying to be more than society dictates you to be.
    It doesn´t matter if you give up cigarettes, alcohol, sugar or animal based products, you have to make that decision alone and fight to follow your new path.
    I didn´t stop eating meat because I was allergic or it didn´t taste good any longer, once I understood the value of life and that you are the one responsible for your life style I started hating myself for not caring enough.
    Doing something simply because society allows it or everyone else does it too is just brain amputated - my brain tells me that I am special because I am human BUT at the same time it reveals to me that with great power comes great responsibility.
    Stop believing the lies society, religions and companies tell you, stop being cattle feeding on other cattle, be human, be more, be conscious of your actions because this planet is one organism and you are part of it.

    I have Sarcoidosis Lymphoma, for the most I have to eat a lot of meat to maintain my muscle and stay strong as well as eating wholemeal grains, veg and fruits.
    What I noticed when I heard about a USA clinic with a break through anti cancer diet was that it consisted of mainly high doses of veg, sprouts, reds and purples in color.
    However, this is not the same diet that is advised by dietitians. The reason can be seen by the next statistic, that I found that said that those who had a well rounded diet (meats/ veg fruit and some grain) were more likely to not get cancer, and those who ate mainly meat and small veg were next inline,
    last were those who whilst still getting all their minerals ate Vegan and it was noted that cancer was increased from 18%-23%.
    We know that eating some plants can be harmful. We know that some plants emit a variety of poisons at certain times to stop the eating of their foliage.
    Some plants are known to be tasty and good for you. But if you eat 10 cases of mangoes(approx 140 mangoes)over a week you will most likely get the bloated rubber lips and bad bowels.
