We are waiting for the heat to go away. Working out there in the direct sun is extremely dangerous. We are hitting upper 90’s every day down in the souther point of Florida.

It’s never fun to clean up the yard. Lol! The cleaning is being done in small increments of time. It’s way too hot and dangerous to be working outdoors in 100 degree weather. Right now the cleaning is taking a back seat until after August 🥵🥵🥵🥵

OMG the amount of your cats which are in sheath is OUTSTANDING the show of blooms will be fantastic 👏 well done and your foliage is also looking great another tip is when a orchid gets scale or other type of pest do what you did with the pressure houe then spray then don't put it back where you got it from as it is telling you that it's not happy in that exact spot so move it just a foot away and you will be surprised in the change good luck and keep up the great job and again thanks for the video thanks again for your time Mitch from Australia 🇦🇺.
Thank you Mitch! It’s never ending here at the ranch with the orchids. I do move them around ALLOT. In my years of orchid keeping I’ve learned that I have to move them according to season. I keep them outdoors using the environment as my greenhouse. When it rains hard, I have to do allot of moving around. Also when the sun shifts, some of my sun loving orchids have to be moved around. It’s like musical chairs at the ranch. Lol! I can’t wait to get the swarski mites to control the thrips without any chemicals.

Thank you so much for not skipping the ads. Also I found out that when you guys leave comments, that plays a big part in the algorithms. That’s how they measure the popularity of each channel and they bump it up in the search engines. I learn new things on TH-cam every day. As far as partnering up videos, I’ve been doing my videos with Teresita because we are dedicating time to making videos. Blanca as you may know has been extremely busy since she became a grandmother and her candle business, so she’s never around. Making these videos you have to use up allot of your free time. So it’s very difficult when your life changes and you still need to fit the old routine.
I am doing so much better with my orchids since I have been following your show. Thank you so much.

Flowers are many and all so pretty. That Bens fragrance has the most beautiful color, love it, I’m going to try and get one. The heat is brutal, moving some around that are frying. I even put up some shade cloths which helps. Everything looks so good, thanks 💚. Haven’t seen Morris, laying low in this heat🥵
Yes! Move them around. It helps them allot. I’ve had to move all my Vandas in the shadehouse or inside my workshop. The sun and heat was burning the leaves right off. And then the nightly rains cause some Vandas to rot their leaves off. It could be worse. I could have had way more casualties. 🙏🏼

I am so happy your lindenii bloomed. Mine died. I don’t have luck with Brenden orchids. They always die on me. I was going to buy those pot from tropical plant store but there shipping cost is to high. By the way we’re is Laz he is MIA.
Hi there Ana. Sorry to hear about your lindenii. Sometimes our environments don’t match well with where the orchids are grown. I’ve had growers that most of what I get from them don’t do well. It happens. All my Bredren Orchids do amazing with me as you seen. But I did lose 2 out of the 7 Cuban Encyclia that I got from Hamlyn Orchids. Their father’s business. Those Encyclias are grown and shipped from Jamaica and sold at the orchid shows. It’s very normal for an orchid to die out due to to much environmental stress. Mix that with improper environment for that specific orchid, and disaster happens. Luckily the rest of the Cuban Encyclias are thriving. So I know the other two I lost was stress. As far as Laz I don’t think he will be doing anymore videos. He’s moved on from that. This is a commitment and not every one is fit for it. My channel is ever flowing and changing. It’s what keeps things interesting. I’m sure we’ll see Laz here and there at a show.

It’s been very wet here in Miami. Try feeding you Bangkok Sunset weekly and allow it to receive very bright lighting. That’s how I keep mine.

Gorgeous Blooms!What a variety of colors.I just repotted the Pink Princess but she doesn’t look to good.I have her in my sunroom with shade cloth.The leaves are a little limp and 1 is turning brown.Hope it will be ok so beautiful.I thought Krull Smith show room is still closed.
Sorry about your pink princess. Try feeding her. I feed the same stuff I use on my orchids. I do water every day cause I keep her outdoors. The Krull Smith showroom is almost complete. I’ll be announcing it soon.

I watched your video again....my tricoglotis (excuse the spelling) I see the hummingbirds visiting...did nit know it had nectar 😮😊, we live next to a river so we have so many bird species, frogs,crabs and monkeys 🐒....they the only ones that brake my plants😢....but interesting that the squerls eat the tricoglotis flowers😮
You live in paradise as well. After watching your videos I realized how many orchids you also have. South Africa must be so exciting. I have several friends from there who live in Miami. I love that you have monkeys running free. We do have some monkeys here and there in Florida, but they are monkeys that have escaped from zoo’s and people’s home. It’s rare but sometimes you will see them out in the Everglades.

Hola! Las orquídeas algunas veces entra en un periodo de reposo. Yo tengo algunas también que no dan flores por algunos años. Por eso es bueno tener muchas variedades si quieres ver flores todo el año. Empieza a darle comida toda las semanas. En mi nuevo video que acabo de montar explico lo que uso en mi mezcla de fertilizante.

Hi Nelson, I love your videos. I’m in central Florida and it’s been tough dealing with the heat here too. I wanted to go over to Krull-Smith since I’m local. I know they keep you up to date on things. Do you know if they’re open now? I know they were closed for a while due to building their new showroom. Have they opened back up yet? I was hoping you might know.

Beautiful flowers. What do you spray your plants with for fungus? Glad you got some rain.
Thank you. I use Banrot systemic fungicide. It’s a very strong and toxic fungicide. But it does the job well and keeps everything very green.
Are the roots of your renanthera and mokara planted into any type of medium down below their cage? They’re growing so well! 😍 inspiring me to take my renantheras out of baskets and try planting them like yours.
The only thing I put is lava rock and charcoal. That’s all you need. I place the orchid canes against the wire cylinder. I allow the roots to make their way into the medium.

Hi, beautiful, beautiful beautiful😊 and the colors. I don’t know why I don’t have good luck with dendrobium. I’m getting yellow leaves and black spots. I keep spraying them but I don’t know something is wrong.😢
Dendrobiums do that allot. You have to move them around until you find the happy place. I find mine do best under a roofing of some sort. Inside my Quicktent shade house they do amazing. Also in my terrace and workshop. Try only wetting the roots. Control all water hitting the leaves unless you are spraying for fungicide, fertilizer, or pesticides. It took me a very long time to learn their acclamation. Everyone’s environment is different. Plants are pretty sensitive to environmental changes.

Another question. We just put up a tunnel type greenhouse frame that came with the white covering. Should I use the covering or use shade cloth. The Greenhouse will get about 6 hours of full sun. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your help.
Hi there! Shade clothes allows more ventilation and air to flow through without overheating inside. But then there is the rain issue. You can not control the amount of rain water in your plants. A solid shade is good for water control, but can easily overheat inside, specially with no fans running. 6hours of full sun is allot of heat in an enclosed greenhouse. I would probably put 2 fans inside for constant ventilation during the day while it’s getting all that sun. If you use a screen, then you don’t need any of that. But you will need to watch during the rainy season. You can easily get root rot.
Are you recording in HD or is it just the IOS updates that make your flowers look vibrant
Im actually recording in 60/4K and processing after editing in 4K as well. The videos take up allot of space. I don’t keep my videos. Once uploaded on TH-cam I delete from the phone. It also takes a very long time to upload. Overnight and through the morning. It does make everything absolutely vibrant and sharp. I’m amazed at everything you can do on an iPhone. It’s a mini computer.

Nelson, how much does the white covering on your shade house shade. I have heard it is 10% which means 90% sun - is that true?
Huh? My shade cover is 70% UV. If it was 10% all my orchids would be burnt. Now if you mean my Quicktent greenhouse, honestly I don’t really know the percentage. All I know is that it’s very bright inside. It’s enough to make my Bulbophyllums bloom.
