56:45 The entire Frost Titan argument was hilarious! "No, no! No, no, no! You thinking that Consecrated Sphinx is a staple over this is why I was at the top tables and you were at the back of the store, my good friend!"
I love 58:25 that Wheeler and Serge fight like an old married couple while Nelson meditates like the oldest kid and Graham's the youngest like "yep Mom and Dad are fighting"
Token nerd here: Ophiomancer's snake tokens weren't originally printed with the card. They first appeared in the black Commander Collection, which made them actually exist, but were rare. They thankfully were reprinted, with the Ophiomancer, in Modern Horizons 3.
Same, my first thought was that it had Bluetooth connected to a pair of headphones somehow, then saw it wasn’t and started worrying that my speaker on my phone was shot
Just watch Graham for the Frost Titan bit. 57:00 Just concentrated on his stuff, laughing a bit. 57:23 What Nelson says really gets him. 57:36 A flash of concern across his face as Wheeler starts bringing up old results. 57:42 Sees that doesn't phase Serge and he is still laughing. Realized how silly he looks yelling "FIVE TITANS". Loses it.
One fun strategy to keep in mind if you try this again (which I recommend by the way, this vid was great); the rules said you can sideboard UP TO 9 cards. I believe that means you can choose to give up sideboard cards for treasures earlier in the game, which is another fun way to interact with the economy system
I'm very much with Graham when he got stern with Serge - the three Canlander players are so quick to try and analyse the board state and spend time talking through the game to see if someone has won yet. The games are short! Just play them out!
Yes. Very glad Graham spoke up. I would much rather watch them play Magic as opposed to watch them try to calculate whether playing the game is unnecessary. Particularly since the calculations led to Graham being told how he should play his turns.
It's a *slightly* different situation than usual as Serge has perfect information. The bit he missed is that G didn't, and his instinct to be a good host (explaining plays and pointing out the stalemate) conflicted with G's play experience.
Though that was a situation where basically all the info is on the table and the play is obvious. Serge has kept Emperor of Bones in his deck throughout, its probably better than anything else in the cube when he has 3 swamps, and he clearly states that every pile is trash. Not playing for the draw is fine but you are so close to having perfect info that you may as well assume you do
Very interesting and inspiring format. I wonder if one could include the planechase cards to imitate Augments from TFT - maybe drafted once per round/stage
This is actually exactly something we have a channel for in the discord. Conspiracies as well. Right now, since the format ruleset is still being worked out, trying to keep the base rules as simple as possible. But once that’s fleshed out this would be big on my list to see if it could work :)
Interestingly, the fast concession on the Round 1 Wheeler/Serge game meant Wheeler got to keep 2 Treasures The Emperor'd Chaos Defiler would've popped two of them, and considering Wheeler became an Academy deck, it probably would've mattered!
Always a big fan of someone trying to mix 2 hobbies together. Hopefully we get another autobattler paper fight with Adam and Ben! Such a great concept can’t wait to try it out with my group
the Lucky Paper Radio with Ryan Saxe episode about this just came out today, so fun to see the cube played! Interestingly, with the treasures, i think the original intention was that you only keep one treasure between minigames
It would be really cool to see different collections of cards for this format as well. It's so cool and I doubt this cube scratches the surface of everything cool you can do in this format.
If you introduce a format as “Autobattler but with Magic”, it’d be extremely helpful to (briefly) describe what an autobattler game is. That said, fun stream and great games.
I dig the concept here, but I will say that the fast (as advertised) gameplay is really at odds with the very fiddly logistical admin behind it all. You want to go fast but the table rushes and the, "wait, did we make treasure/how many cards/what round/what opponent?" type questions pop up.
Also, love how Serge played and strategized. Honestly, I do not like to pick favorites, but these four people playing Magic and bantering together makes me very happy.
1:20:21 Ben didn't need to draw here. He makes a cat, Serge swings for 4, takes it. Ben's at 6, takes his turn, makes a second cat, passes. Serge can either trade with two cats or pass. From there Ben takes over the game however he wants between making 2/1 cats or adding +1/+1 counters to all his cats, in not that much time he swings for lethal.
Until this episode i had no idea how spikey serge could be 😂. Not a criticism it was a lot of fun just not used to him being so competitive Edit: spelling
Even though Wheeler still lost putting him to 6 poison counters, he did cheat and tap a tapped academy to cast the Brazin Borrower. He would of had to use two of his treasures for the blue.
Academy was part of a version of this cube that was played when you can only have 1 treasure starting on the battlefield. It’s no longer in the list moving forward and has been replaced with the new MH3 one that gives spells improvise.
This was a lot cooler than the name made me expect. Based on what people were saying, seems like it could use a slightly expanded card pool to increase diversity? Regardless, I would definitely watch more of this.
1:19:14 - Doesn't Wheeler deterministically win if he doesn't chump with the cat token? Serge is at 6 Wheeler 10. Serge either attacks for 4 putting Wheeler to 6 and then goes to 3 on the crack back, or holds his blocker back and takes 1 a turn?
would love to see this cube often, even its own weekly stream
56:45 The entire Frost Titan argument was hilarious! "No, no! No, no, no! You thinking that Consecrated Sphinx is a staple over this is why I was at the top tables and you were at the back of the store, my good friend!"
I loved the "3 Old men bitching about the good old days" atmosphere.
@@pawstitute54 meanwhile Graham: not my circus, not my monkeys...but pass the popcorn
The format was great, but that was the best bit. Highlight reel, say hi!
watch it again but only Graham's reactions
Suddenly North 100 bursts into the game lol
that frost titan argument needs to make the highlights lol
3 hours later I'd like to formally request more of this format.
You know it's going to be a good one when Wheeler, starts the show yelling at us.
I love any new way to use your cards. This looks like a load of fun!
I love 58:25 that Wheeler and Serge fight like an old married couple while Nelson meditates like the oldest kid and Graham's the youngest like "yep Mom and Dad are fighting"
I was channeling Graham when the frost titan moment happened.
Absolutely cackling, it was an amazing stream overall! Super good mtg happening.
This was probably the coolest new thing I've seen yall do in ages. So fun.
Even in a fun little minigame, Serge still finds a way to play a prison deck
Token nerd here: Ophiomancer's snake tokens weren't originally printed with the card. They first appeared in the black Commander Collection, which made them actually exist, but were rare. They thankfully were reprinted, with the Ophiomancer, in Modern Horizons 3.
Well I definitely thought my headphones were broken for a second… I guess I’ll go get my ears checked
Seriously restarted the app a dozen times to get the sound to start working again
Yea ive started jumping ahead in videos just to make sure my audio isn't messed up
Same, my first thought was that it had Bluetooth connected to a pair of headphones somehow, then saw it wasn’t and started worrying that my speaker on my phone was shot
@@zacheryfrasier672did the same thing!
Thanks for the heads up

One of the most fun streams 3 and half hours non stop fun. Some very interesting games and interactions.
I'm very much with Graham when he got stern with Serge - the three Canlander players are so quick to try and analyse the board state and spend time talking through the game to see if someone has won yet. The games are short! Just play them out!
Yeah I didn't really vibe with the way Serge tried to repeatedly tell all parties how the game "should" play out. Great video otherwise!
Yes. Very glad Graham spoke up. I would much rather watch them play Magic as opposed to watch them try to calculate whether playing the game is unnecessary. Particularly since the calculations led to Graham being told how he should play his turns.

@@SixSidedVice I think it is an incredibly safe assumption on Graham's part that Serge has Emperor of Bones
I’m of the opinion that this is sickest format I’ve seen in a hot second
God I love cube
I was so skeptical of how this would be just from the words 'Autobattler' but this was incredibly fun. I gotta try it
Really cool cube, thanks for showcasing it!
This is one of the most intense Friday Night Paper Fight videos. So much emotion, tension and tight plays. Big lodeeeees!
This is surely the most confusing way to play magic I have ever heard of.
It’s super neat
Wheeler, the creative powerhouse behind 125% of my favourite decks on this show.
Man, Serge the spike came out this episode
Very interesting and inspiring format. I wonder if one could include the planechase cards to imitate Augments from TFT - maybe drafted once per round/stage

I enjoy watching these people play this format 👍
1:27:45 I feel like Princess Autobattle would be this but the cube is made from Beejlander Leftovers
@1:24 okay you're right, but moments like this are EXACTLY why we can only watch this content with the audio capped at 25%!!!
I'd love to watch this played again! That looked like so much fun.
Super interesting cube design!
Def gonna need to see this on a semi-regular basis. Also need the Arena team to add it.
Interestingly, the fast concession on the Round 1 Wheeler/Serge game meant Wheeler got to keep 2 Treasures
The Emperor'd Chaos Defiler would've popped two of them, and considering Wheeler became an Academy deck, it probably would've mattered!
Shouldn't he even have lost them in the first round vs Nelson's Phelia?
@@boiuthh9486 If I remember right, it got mentioned that he could've done that, but in the game he said no target when he attacked
just so you're all aware, Wheeler's screaming at the beginning is absolutely the volume i scream my aggressive love at :P
This was a ton of fun; would love to see y'all do more of this.
I really like this cube, and I hope we get to see a lot more of this!
Watching this on Twitch right now, this is absolutely amazing.
We gotta see more of this!

Just heard the Ryan Saxe interview on Lucky Paper where they mentioned this video, very much looking forward to it ❤
Can’t believe Serge managed to play pox in cube
I very much enjoyed Wheeler's successful audition for the Highlight Reel

More of this plz. It's sweet
This was awesome. Thank you so much for introducing this format to me.
This is very neat to watch. Would like to see this again.
I literally want to make this cube my whole personality. This looks such a great time!
This was very fun to watch! Hopefully you will do it again in the future. I actually prefer this over regular magic formats ;D
What a good episode, %1000 making this cube and forcing it upon others
loved this! And would love to see more!

Should do another one of these. It was highly enjoyable.
I was kinda sceptic in the beginning, but that was so much fun to watch! Please do that again sometime
Shoutout to my fellow 1% master, 50% app volume users!
This looks insanely fun and customizable.
I would love to see this again!
This is an unusual idea for a cube! Hope it’s fun!
Id love to see this cube return soon!
Serge holding Graham hostage, just for Graham to lose was actually hilarious. What a bully!
2:27:20 Serge "we'll be here for another 90 min", Wheeler "No this won't take long" total vid time = 65 more min
This format is awesome.
more of this pls

Awesome cube, i hope they return to it.
Amazing. S tier. I pray I get to play this some day.
Though it is a tax on your treasures, Academy is clearly too powerful.
Wow, flawless transition in
2:45:53 the priceless exchange between Wheeler and Nelly.

2:26:45 serge! you're gonna blue ball wheeler when he has big loads?!
I would play a magic autobattler in a second
It's true that Frost Titan was played in standard. It was the one that actually beat the other Titans.
Drinking game for this vod is "deterministic".
please more of this!
Wow. I actually have a Lake of the Dead from back in the day. Holy nostalgia Batman.
Please do this again I loved it!!!!
2:43:25 the ionize shouldn't be able to counter the ophiomancer because of the green leyline, i believe.
MECHABELLUM METOINED!!! Love you serge
Happy to get a free episode of Punt Counter Punt over Frost Titan.
This is so cool. Yall come up with or find the best ideas

Sergey would swing at Ajani. Either Wheeler blocks and loses his cat or loses his ability to make cats.
So lose or tie.
Thus why the game draws.
Coming soon, AutoBeejlander?
I thought my phone was messed up so I restarted it lol
Would love to see Cameron draft this
