    Used the QSC ks112's, with the K12.2's the other night (outside), and was absolutely blown away by the thumping low end and crystal clear highs..
    I highly recommend this set up for any gigging band.

      Nice! What types of instruments or genre did you try your set up with? Your combination is one of my targeted future plans for a fully powered PA.

      @@eduardoborjas9284 I second that. We have a 6 piece band with lead vocalist, three BGV's. I was using Alto's with Alto sub. The difference is definitely in the clarity. The K12's are so clean and detailed. The K112's give much better thump in the low end. I am completely satisfied. And may I say, the Alto's sounded good, just not great.

    i think it will sound better if you put the crossover frequency higher

    What is the point of the little loop back in the other channel of the sub before going to the S1? Why not just phone to sub to S1?

    • @eduardoborjas9284
      @eduardoborjas9284  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! And thanks for watching. Essentially, I did try it (off camera) first by using just one channel (side a) of the sub then going up to the Bose s1, but the sub didn’t sound as loud. The sub had more audible thump when I took the output of sub side a and connected it to the input of sub side b, then output of side b up to the top (Bose s1). I definitely recommend using both sub inputs when using a single QSC kS112!

      @@eduardoborjas9284 that’s very interesting. Would you have the same effect by either: a. Using a XLR splitter and essentially going in both inputs at the same time rather then looping back in? Or b. Just increase the QSC gain by a notch or two?

      @@eduardoborjas9284 i’ve never seen or heard of how you hooked up the subwoofer, is it still working and can you do that to KW181?

    • @eduardoborjas9284

      Hi! Thanks for watching! Given a single QSC sub and single Bose top configuration, I would think that your option (b) turning up the QSC volume, would achieve similar results to my “jumper loop” method. I would avoid splitting the source signal with a Y cable for a single sub, single top configuration. Also, whatever signal path I run, I’m always aware of impacts to my mono/stereo signal.

    • @eduardoborjas9284
      @eduardoborjas9284  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for watching! When I ran a single sub and single top, then that was the signal path that I used. Probably for about three times.
      I have since added another top, and a blue tooth stereo receiver, so now I send my stereo signal to the BT receiver, then stereo output to the QSC sub, then left/right output to the tops, respectively. I love the system set up! I’ll post a future video of that config some time. Stay tuned!
      I’m not sure of the capabilities of the KW118 but if it’s like the KS112, then it should work.

    What cable did you use to connect your phone to the sub?

    • @eduardoborjas9284
      @eduardoborjas9284  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I used an iPhone power/headphone dongle plugged into a 1/16 stereo to male xlr cable into the sub input. Then all xlr’s from.

    Try a external mixer.
    You will not get full sound with just your phone and get an actual db meter..phone apps are not accurate. Nice gear though...I also have a pair of 112's.

      Agreed about the mixer. It’s next on my list but with this set up I’m functional and can set up & tear down quickly.

    how does the qsc ks112 compare to bose sub2?

    • @eduardoborjas9284
      @eduardoborjas9284  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never got to compare the QSC KS112 with the BOSE Sub2 system for two main reasons (differentiators in favor of the KS112). First, the KS112 has heavy duty casters, making transport a breeze for outdoor set ups. Secondly, if I ever want to upgrade to cover larger venues, all I have to do is add another Bose S1 Pro (or more powerful tops). I felt I could grow my micro-PA set up with the KS112 much easier. Thanks!

    These speakers need the indoor reverb outdoors they are loud but lack that nice base punch from being indoors
