    WOW...Through my $250 Sony Bluetooth headphones, the Harbinger actually has a clearer, higher fidelity sound than the QSC with the CP8 speaker. I am impressed. I heard the MLS900 a couple years ago, and was impressed with it. I saw the MLS1000 at Guitar Center today, and I really like it. I did not listen to it in person though. Now with the 10" Sub, I am digging it. I had no intention of buying new speakers this year, but I might just go and buy a pair of these.

    I could not help myself but to buy an affordable Harbinger S12 subwoofer for my MLS1000. It was on sale for $349 at Guitar Center. I was able to price match my MLS1000 and used the $217 credit towards my subwoofer. Wow! It sounds fantastic. I make adjustments to all audio adjustments to avoid clipping the subwoofer. This DJ set up sounds great for the price and value. It is used for home entertainment. I am very happy with the sound reproduction.

    I am glad that you posted this video. I bought a pair of ms1000 . They sound awesome. Great price and a lot of value for your hard earned cash. I stream music from TH-cam and they are used for home use. I feel like being in a night club. They sound great at low and high volume. I am not disappointed. I will buy a subwoofer next. This will be my DJ audio set up and it will replace my old broken down high end audio sound system. The bluetooth pairs up quickly and I can be 30 feet away and change sound tracks. It is so easy to set up and tear it down to move.

    The Harbinger struggled a small bit keeping up with the QSC but as long as you aren't maxxing out the speakers I think it'll be good. For 1/3 the price I'll take the Harbinger. Nice video, cool cat lol

    You forgot to mention the price wise between the two you can buy 3 harbinger for the qsc price and not all that to haul around to your car load and unloading

    Ok let's be real as possible I have a friend that owns that harbinger system we work on bourbon st. When I come through with my 2 qsc k12.2 you can't hear his speakers at all and I run my speakers below 1 so that settles that plus at my local guitar center they have a whole section of these blown harbinger speakers

    I think at the end of the day when you add a good amount of people the qsc will sound better and have more headroom.

      Way more headroom, apples vs oranges, just no comparison when it's time to really turn up the dance floor. But the mls1000 is great for small events

    I will also add to my comment below that I did listen to the Harbinger Vari 4412 today. I currently use Alto TS312s, and love the sound of my Alto set up. However, the Vari 4112 is the first conventional speaker that Harbinger has come out with that are at least as good as my Altos, and probably better on the high end. They seem to get real loud. Harbinger use to have horrible sounding speakers 7+ years ago. They have come along way since then with the quality of their more recent speaker offerings!

    • @ryannrjohnson
      @ryannrjohnson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I have each version from the Vari 2112, 2215, 2312, and I deejay with the 4312’s and QSC KS118. The 2100 and 2200 were good for monitors at small events but they can’t handle ANY KIND of heavy power because they will shut the sound off. The 2300 version changed all that and we have a set at the early church service I play keyboard for on Sunday mornings that sound good. I have pushed the 4312’s at several events deejaying this year and they haven’t disappointed at all. Of course when I put them beside the JBL SRX 815P’s at a larger event they couldn’t compete, but the SRX are in a 4x higher price range. Overall Harbinger has come a very long way to have a set of 12” speakers for $800 that don’t punk out or distort when you push them at an event.

  • @jamez9021
    @jamez9021 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    A complete qsc system will outperform the harbinger complete every time. But depending on the gig you don’t have to lug around those heavy ass speakers lol. The pricing is also another factor the qsc setup is more than double the price.

    Clarity is way better on column array for sure. The QSC sub hits harder. IMO clarity is king. If I had to buy today I would get 2 column arrays and and then I8” qsc sub for when I need the extra sub.

    I thought the Harbinger had better dispersion, and kinda makes sense that it would. QSC is known for making good solid equipment, and as far as sound quality I thought the 2 were very close in that regard. So word is Harbinger has been uping their game and I think it shows.

    It sounded louder with the Harbinger set. Maybe because of the pole style mids and highs. Bass sounded the same. I like less work carrying stuff. I have the QSC C212 set and it's so heavy at the end of the night.. 🥺.. I just bought the Harbinger S12 compact subs and I like those for most small indoor events.

      I play in a Johnny CASH tribute with a Upright Bass.. The MLS has has no problem with distorting and the Upright Bass is a very boomy instrument. We put all the instruments through them the sound is very good.. I have a few PA's and i also have a couple of those K12 QSC subs . I will use those for larger venues

  • @rigovaldez9981
    @rigovaldez9981 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've use both brands Harbinger will get the job done and is more cost effective.
    But Qsc will sound better and have more headroom , Harbinger will distort easier at high volume.

  • @DJEmirMixtapes
    @DJEmirMixtapes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In this particular case, the harbinger sounds louder but that could just be the different ways the two speakers act with their volume controls at the same volume levels at higher volumes the QSCs should sound cleaner as I can already hear distortion starting up on the Harbingers even at these low levels.

    • @frankperry3133
      @frankperry3133 ปีที่แล้ว

      right, the distortions started to set in. at least someone who recognized it. the qsc sounds cleaner and will also be more efficient with more power. harbinger sounds louder, but the sound pressure of the qsc is clearly at the top. yes bad if not. the price of harbinger compared to qsc is certainly worth considering. recommended for medium-sized events, no question. if you have good ears, you can clearly hear the difference between the two.

    😁 🐈 😁. Personally I would prefer the QSC setup, but I would also invest in a system just like the Harbinger setup. The sound test is pointless really as we are not getting a true representation of quality and loudness. But in saying that the Harbinger system is known to be more punchy.

    It is hard to make a sound comparison when the two speakers are clearly at different volumes and with different EQ settings. The gain knob positions are an absolutely worthless point of comparison. You can only compare using an external SPL meter. The louder speaker will always sound better so you need to remove that variable from your test. I could go on... BTW, I sold speaker testing solutions to the pro-audio industry (among other industries) for many years.

    • @NoizTheDj
      @NoizTheDj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did use an SPL meter and the QSC was louder… The QSC has more headroom. I think the reason why the Harbinger sounds louder is because it’s crisper than the QSC.

    • @NoizTheDj
      @NoizTheDj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How would you set the speakers at the same volume?

    • @jonathannovick3766
      @jonathannovick3766 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NoizTheDj First set both speakers to a flat EQ. Then feed a pink noise source into both speakers. Place an SPL meter (A wtg is fine) equidistant to each speaker about 10 feet in front. Measure the SPL from first speaker. Then measure the 2nd and adjust its input gain knob until the level matches the 1st speaker. Now you can go back and forth with ease. BTW, make sure your mixer is in mono when you play music. If one speaker is playing the left channel and the other the right, you are listening to the differences of the mix, not the speakers.

    @FlatulEssence ปีที่แล้ว

    Eh brah, how'z it? You dakine oh wat? On a gig you get there early and on time, so the difference in time is negligible. The sound quality is more important. This is pure comedy! You’re comparing a 1000W rig with a 10” sub to a 3000W rig with a 12” sub. And you’re saying that the dramatically inferior system is better because it’s quicker to setup. If that’s true, then an even better rig would be a Mackie Thump Go! You don’t need a power cable, it costs half as much as the Harbinger rig, and you could set it closer to the mic and pretend it sounds better! 😀
