Wow this is a Goldmine. I forgot this too was another Dick Clark Show that he did whose Sole Sponsor was Beechnut Gum. The year before Dick Clark did the First Integrated Concert in 1959 with Sam Cooke as the headliner.
I was just a kid, but Jimmy Jones was one of the first vocalists that I really liked. What a trailblazer! Not only in music - but really - breaking barriers in society. Miss him!
Hi. I love this song. I have it on a 45 and on my playlist. I just posted this on all of the oldies music sites on Facebook. I posted as: Monday's Golden Oldie
Wrong.... In 1960 these kids was the youngest members of the silent generation. They never served in Veitnam or attended Woodstock. It was the oldest boomers that was little kids during this time period that would go on to do all of that. I know that because the silent generation was my grandparents and my mom was the last of the boomers to be born then us angry, slacker, nihilistic gen X'rs started being born👍
This was My mum's favourite song always jived with my Dad who passed away over 40 years ago my mum has Parkinson's desease and unfortunately in a care home but still manage to get the song played for her. I am a Teddy Boy 🎼 so I love 1950s early 60s songs 🎼👏🤝💕
@paulbrennan3996 I love this song too.I can barely remember hearing it as a " flashback" on the radio. Do you mind if I ask you what a Teddy Boy is? I've heard of them but I live in the US and don't really know. 😊 God bless your precious parents .❤
i never tire of this tune , handy man was the previous release I was 6 months old when both hits were on the charts, Otis Blackwell was a great Talent just like Jimmy Jones God bless...
My grandad used to listen this song quite a lot...I was still wearing diapers i suppose when i first hear it. I'm 45 now...what a great song, so simple, elegant and up beat...just a wonder for the ears. Almost everybody says "those were the days of good music"; but what better time than this very period when we can travel this far back in time and enjoy this gems (Edit) Note: Jimmy's voice...oh man...His registry is of the charts!. And he goes from his regular tone to falsetto and back like it's monday...I have an HQ MP3 of this track and the sound of it, specially at the end...yo can hear all the little things happening sound wise. No effects, whatsoever...it's quite something
I like the way he changes from high tones to lower. His voice sounds good. Until a couple of weeks ago I had never heard the song. But I am always interested in finding songs from the past. Although I also love music of the present.
I did not grow up in the era but, I have heard this song many many times and the whole time I always thought he was saying "Diamonds". LOL I feel so stupid. It's still a great song either way.
I actually saw Jimmy Jones live in Greenville SC 1960 along with Sammy Turner and many more. Both are great singers and favorites of mine. I hope some day a video of Sammy will appear. Thanks for this.
1:07, this girl is literally me loving this and everything. 😊 0:57 Also, that Becky must of had 0 soul or rythem whatsoever ever, sad how they even existed back then too. The heck is wrong with her? 😒

Jimmy Jones...... Brilliant singer and dancer and so handsome. He knew how to move. 'Handy Man' was just as good as this.
Handyman was 1st, 1959
Handyman my call In request to oldies radio for 20 years. I loved it. 🎶💕🎶
Yes, both are great songs.
Handy Man was released in December 1959. Good Timin was released in April 1960.
WOW I had no idea Jimmy was African American! An all time classic track. He was one handsome dude!
Never will have great songs like this again!
No never. It was a period of a perfect storm for joyful and creative music.
Jimmy Jones never got the recognition that he deserved. Before him there was rock n roll and country music but this song was the birth of pop music
Fantastic hit song in 1960 for Jimmy Jones--#3 US, #1 UK
He had charisma and charm every one loves his singing
When you consider these gum chewing kids were in Woodstock ten years later, and then investing in Wall Street ten years after that. What a ride!

Times when music was first class
always loved this song fantastic
A bygone era when performers of all generations dressed in tuxes or at least suits and ties to perform.
I was a DJ back in the early 60s and this song was requested hundreds of time.
Brilliant tune and just think wot was coming, fine time to be alive
AWESOME!!!!!!
I didn ` t know this catchy song. Thanks to you;

Just found you mate, best collection of classics I've seen. Well done.
Great song. Great performance. Fun song to sing and play.
Released in 1966, this song only managed to "Bubble Under" The Billboard Hot 100 at #128.
(The lowedt a song can chart 'bubbling under' is #135. 😳
jheee hij was echt wel een super legende wat was hij toen een coole super singer xx
Ja he
Thanks
A lot of folk will be amazed when they see what Jimmy looked like, brilliant upload as ever. From a time when everyone wanted to be Jackie Wilson.
Cudowny jest Super
what a banger
Linda melodia🎵🎶
I’d love to see a live version of Mr. Music Man, such a unique voice with great range.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely brilliant
Great video, but ruïned by your blasted useless logo...
Yes that awful logo running through the clip totally spoils it.
Critics talk about the vocals of the Weeknd today and other singers who stretch their vocal range - he did it before them and he could dance too.
He is absolutely awsome!
🤩👍😃
Thank you so much for this
Jimmy's biggest hit was "Handy Man", if I'm correct.
yes but Timin is his best!
talented
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏!
