    I'm glad someone impartial was able to finally make this comparison. As you said, hp is hard tp pull out of the NA vq especially after a certain point so 4 hp is promising, but thats within the margin of error really. You could put it on the same dyno tomorrow and be down 2-4 hp. But you nailed it -- you have to decide if the extra money is worth it to MAYBE see minimal gains.

    i have ported upper and lower intakes, 2.5 inch longtube intakes, shorty headers, test pipe, manzo exhaust, i only got 332whp 271wtq, for me most noticeable difference is when you change your diff bushings and add subframe collars along with diff brace

      @@-MoTioN yeah, it's a bit on the raspy side with a lot of drone; I have DC shorty headers, and the piping is slightly larger than Z1 shorty. Non-resonate test pipe.
      Also, the negative thing I could tell you is the gaskets that came with it. I had to replace many times until I decided for copper one. Also, it got OK fitment compared to many cheap exhausts. Like the DNA, for example. Also, it's really heavier than oem

  • @obtrunco
    @obtrunco 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Well done. 3 inch intakes are duds UNLESS you do port your manifold and TB's matching the 3" intake's diameter. If you have a bottleneck in your intake system then 3" aftermarkets won't make a difference.

    • @al3zmi
      @al3zmi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      i know this is an old comment but i have to mention 2 things, you cannot Port your stock TB as they are electronically controlled and the valve itself needs to be replaced, using bigger TB like from the Maxima "76mm" or EPA TB will make driving worse as you will have a lot of rev hang and response will be worse, but you will gain a lot of torque, also with larger TB it will rev bit slower

    The 3 in intakes are only as good as the rest of the breather mods. I had 3in admin tuning intakes +FI RHFC + ARK exhaust and only made 306 awhp @ RT Tuning
    I swapped to ISR LTH and kept the ARK exhaust + admin intakes and made 346 awhp on the same dyno @ RT Tuning. If you had LTH you'd pick up a great deal thanks to the 3 in Intakes. At least that was my experience and I have a dyno to prove it.

    • @3rdPedalMedia

      Yea. I do feel like the stock headers are the bottle neck now.

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You would have gotten those same numbers with headers and 2.5" takeda intakes. The manifolds/stock headers on the G are more restrictive than the intake system. With that being said, you probably would have seen a gain of 15 - 20 hp just replacing the HFCs with test pipes.

    • @3rdPedalMedia
      @3rdPedalMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Admin has awesome products and tuned numbers. But the hypothesis is that most of the numbers are a result of bleeding edge tunes that are then backed off before customers receive their cars. In fact there are a larger number of failures as a result of these daring maps.
      But please don’t take this comment as me throwing shame it’s just their style and ppl go for that. In fact pushing the limits drives any industries and there are more conservative tuners that push as much as they can while keeping longevity or dependability in mind.

    • @wrkls_
      @wrkls_ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@topspeed6553 There was definitely a noticeable difference. A wee bit more noise and few more gains. It’s more noticeable on the top end. The price to gain ratio is a lot better with the silicone post maf intake hoses and drop in filters. If you care about looks and getting all the hp you can get cold air intakes is the way to go. I got retuned after installing the intakes. I felt like it definitely woke the car up, but I also went from a shitty tune to RSEnthalpy tune. So It’s really up to you if it’s worth it to you. I went with the Z1 carbon fiber cold air intake system since carbon is a good insulator and helps improve fuel efficiency and engine response, enhancing overall vehicle performance. Despite a higher initial cost, the investment pays off with increased airflow, power, and a unique engine sound.
