Great shave, as I have purchased many razors from inexpensive to extravagant, I can say without hesitation that the 6S remains my #1 razor of all time !
@@OhioShaves For me, the 3 or 4 plate and blades in this order: Nacet, Wizamet and TREET! For my skin, I find 4 passes with milder razors provides a 100% BBS irritation free and comfortable shave every time - where any more aggressive or efficient setting never compares.
@@OhioShaves oh I love this subject - it took me a long time to figure this out… when I started shaving I would do a down pass top of face down to bottom of my neck and then an up pass, from bottom of my neck to top of my face - realized this left a lot of stubble in the neck area. So for 3rd pass I tried cross the grain from ear to mouth and from back of neck to front of neck - DISASTER - still had stubble but also had irritation lol… then I tried the third pass from mouth to ear and front of neck to back of neck - 100% comfortable - but still stubble!!!! I tried a different approach which brings me to what I do now which is perfection for me every time! 1st pass is traditional down from top of face straight down to bottom of neck. 2nd pass is exact opposite an up pass from bottom of neck to top of face. For me the magic starts with the 3rd pass - up and diagonal so I start from the bottom of my neck back by my ear and the pass goes from the location up at an angle to my chin so not directly across the neck but bottom to top of neck in an angle from ear to chin (diagonal) - that removes all of the stubble in the very stubborn neck area with zero irritation - in the 3rd pass I also do my face diagonally from below my ear across to my nose. If I want 100% BBS - like wet glass, I repeat the bottom of neck under the ear up to the chin - basically repeat the 3rd pass. My favorite shave would be PAA Harvest Moon soap, I use no pre-shave, i finish with a splash of thayers witch hazel - let that air dry, PAA Mysterium Serum and then a splash of Proraso green! Sorry for the long reply but it took me a couple years to find this perfect map!
Great shave ! That is a near perfect shave for me with the products you used. Sterling, simpsons T3, Rockwell, nivea all top tier. The merkur 34c also has the blade tabs exposed as well, most razors do so it's a learning thing and you will get used to it. If you want to try the hard soap pucks mitchells wool fat and tabac are about as good as you can get. They are both in the top tier of soaps to me. Some folks don't like the scent of tabac but I love it. They are definitely worth having in your shave den for sure. Classics. If you like the simpsons t3 you would also love the razorock Monster and Big Bruce. Great video man !
@@OhioShaves Interesting, I did check it before I posted and just checked again and there is definitely tab exposure on mine, though very slight. My 34c is more like Ken's here th-cam.com/video/_FY84Vmx4Qg/w-d-xo.html If you really hate tab exposure the badger and blade forum has a list of razors that has the tabs covered. I don't think youtube will let me post the link though.
One of the best shaving razors out here. If you’re aware of the tabs, it’s not a big deal. Trust me this razor will make you a better shaver. It’s that good
Hello! I traded in my 6C for a 6S just because I liked the C so much that I had to try the S and ended up preferring the weight and matte finish of the stainless version. It is almost magical how well they shave. Good choice on the brush. I don't have one but it looks very plush. Thanks for the video. Have a great week!
Thanks for sharing. If my new found love the Rockwell 6C is as good as I think, I might even trade out for the 6s. $120 is pretty steep in my book but if I use it as much as I do my merkur 34C, well then why not because I'll use it as a daily driver. Thanks for your input you're awesome
@@OhioShaves I forgot to mention that I got my 6S used for about $60 which was a steal. I can't guarantee that you'll find one for so little but they do come up in the $80 range pretty frequently. To be 100% honest though, the 6C is an excellent shaver that should last for a good long while. I was really happy with it and wouldn't have gotten a 6S so soon if it wasn't for the bargain. Thanks again for the enjoyable video. -Eric
Another great shave! The way the plates are numbered on that razor always got me I never bought one because I’m not a fan of keeping all those plates together but it seems like a cool razor, I like having a adjustable on hand but honestly anymore my main go to is the Merkur 43C it’s got a lot of heft to it but it’s not to aggressive! Thanks for the video I really enjoy your channel.
Hi, I'm addicted to looking at your videos, I started using a Safety Razor in 2020 and it is indeed the best shaving experience I've ever had. I've been using the Shave Revolution and Facon safety razor with great success and after watching your videos I think I wanna upgrade to the Rockwell 2C. I can't grow a thick beard to save my life so I think a #3 plate would suit my needs. What's your go to plate on the Rockwell?
Hi Brother, You won't regret getting the Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap. A word of caution. Get the puck, or the tub. The bar is a body soap Ask me how I know this... LOL I just got my first customised variety pack from tryablade. 68 blades covering 34 brands. I got two each. So far the only contender that I've tried has failed to dethrone the Derby Extra. 33 more tries to see. I have two blades from Rockwell to try. You might like the Merkur 38C. Nice heft. good balance. IIRC, it's shave head is the same as it's 34C brother. Btw: Did you get the second email attempt?
Rockwell 6c is a winner and I have more plates to try.
Good Luck
