We LOVE hearing your comments!! We'll be away from the internet for a few days, but we'll be responding to you as soon as we can. Thanks for watching! 😍⛵
I really appreciate when you get a new video out. It's so relaxing to tag along on a new episode of your journey after a long day at work. Thanks for the mental get away!
It's great that you guys add your spend at the end of the videos. It gives a much more transparent perspective on the life you two have chosen to share with your audience.
Matt and Jessica, Greatly enjoying your videos. Your channel allows us to see places where some off us normally wouldn't be able to visit. Keep up the fantastic work!
Country music in Michigan? Don't you remember Motown? Maybe Jimmy Buffet. Great video, though we've had snow here. So it is nice to see warm tropical waters.
Michigan's west coast for the most part is stunning.. also all sorts of musical festivals, and good folks living in tune with the land~ organic farming-gardning.. and beautiful local art etc... The sunrise side is nice also.. I Love my beautiful state... no other place like it on the planet ✋❤
Doesn't the Coast Guard boat show up on AIS, or don't you have AIS?...Jess said one showed up out of nowhere! Just curious if they are stealth always...loved your Bahamas stuff, when my project is done, LOL, thats where I'm heading...favorable winds
They're allowed to work off AIS!! Or at least, they were. I think some laws may have just changed on that. But no....they were totally dark, both visually and electronically, lol.
Love every minute of y'all's videos! Always keeping up in the loop on everyday things (long trek to do laundry) and just very down to earth people. Your videos bring a pleasant side to the world that is so rush rush and chaos all the time. Keep up the great content and safe travels!
Do you know why I look at your videos? It's simply because you are good people. You have great adventures, and then you go through uncomfortable things, like sleeping on the salon floor because the berths are to uncomfortable, but you seem to get along and seem like good folk. Keep it coming.
Great show, it helps us get through the winter in Minnesota. We are just around the corner from our sailing season. Thank you so much for sharing your lives and experiences,
Excellent job with the videos. I always look forward to your next episode. The snow is starting to melt here in Wisconsin so it’s always a pleasure to see people out in the sun enjoying warmer weather.
Welcome back to the U.S.! Thanks for keeping it real and fun. Jessica you always make us smile. (the difference between weekends and weekdays, or during the week ;-)) Have a great week. Jana
Nice video, thanks for sharing. I was sailing off San Diego one summer with my 70 year father and a friend when there was an radio message from the coast guard looking for a lost sailor. They just happened to find him a couple of miles off of Mission Bay and as we watched the rescue, the coast guard began watching us. It was not long before they came along side and boarded us, quite the experience, guns and all!
Beautiful reportage of your stint in the Bahamas...keep it up. Tremendously helpful publishing your expense reports and will guide us when we get out on the water down there. Keep on you two!
Love your videos....Matt, you are a lucky guy...you found someone that loves sailing, doesn’t mind helping with boat work, loves to explore, and not to mention has beautiful blue eyes....
I enjoyed the refit. It showed how labor intensive completely refitting a boat can be, but it has been amazing to see her out and sailing. I look toward your Atlantic crossing and a view of some more northern hemisphere ports of call. Fair winds.
This episode really mirrored the things landlocked cruisers such as ourselves experience. Being full-time RV'ers we had to cross an area just to get back to pick up items and the paved road was a lot rougher than we anticipated and yep, the wind was on our beam as well. We found a good camping spot during the first of the week and yes, saw the chaos of weekenders in a popular area. I guess the key bit though is we wouldn't have it any other way. Great vid guys and thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for the review of Peanut Island. It looks to be a cool place to visit when cruising in the area. Thanks for your continued excellent videos and allowing me to live vicariously through you both.
Welcome back to Florida, we got back to Key West Monday, took a ride to the upper keys, the devastation from the hurricane brought us to tears, RV parks, marinas, state parks, local residence, they are all gone, places where you knew something was there is now just barren land, and all the beautiful landscape and palm trees that once lined U.S.1 are all gone, what really got to me was the mountains of boats that were destroyed, pushed up in a pile waiting to be hauled off, hopefully people had insurance to cover their losses, its going to take years to rebuild if they do rebuild.
You have done a great job putting together a really different yacht, from the clever interior, through to the hard dodger, and even the "not following the mob" colour of your canvas. I am looking forward to whatever you plan to add to reduce spray in the cockpit
Great video! That crossing looked fairly rough. Glad you guys handled it so well. It may be spring here but we had snow today. The Cubs were snowed out , again! I’ll be looking for your next video.
Your laundry run reminded me of walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain and how its hard to stop to do laundry when you're having fun and it's just going to get dirty again the next day! Have a great time you two, I love following your adventures, hopefully soon I can do the same
It is great to see your disclosure of expenses, along with explaining operational equipment and how they work. Makes me want to get back into a boat and join the fun. Maybe as a retirement strategy. Thank you all for your videos.
Would love to see another detailed boat walk-through highlighting all of the changes/upgrades you have made, as well as a commentary of what has worked/not worked for you. What did you decide to do about the traveler?
We're in round 2 of our Abaco polarized giveaway, and you've won! Just make sure to contact us at admin@mjsailing.com by May 6, 2018 to claim your code. 😍
I'm so stoked to have won! Love you two so much and appreciate your sharing your life with us. I have been keeping tabs on you for a while and first remember you on a sweet Sabre 34 if memory serves me correctly.
Have been watching from the beginning. Enjoyed the Abacos eposodes. Been there twice in the past and would like to go again. Thanks for doing a great job!
Awesome videos, funny- same places I was in on my 52 trawler back in 2010 ! Indiantown ...St Lucie canal, Stuart, ICW, Peanut island all rock, hope to see you guys on the water in the fall 2018. Michelle and Lionel
You two have come a long way with these videos.....you actually managed to make doing laundry semi-interesting. Thanks for another great video. Ken in St. Pete
Absolutely love your videos I look forward to them like a gift in the mail. I live in Wisconsin and today 4/18/18 as I look out my window we are getting 6 to 8 inches of snow........ so the sun and fun of your beautiful days sailing bring me to a place of warmth and always make me smile....... have fun you guys and keep the great videos coming....... hopefully our summer will get here soon.... hahahah.....
Great channel. Preparing for 1-3" of snow this afternoon and evening...sad. I already purchased a pair of Abacos Laguna's (using the MJSailing discount code), very nice quality. I plan on purchasing a couple more pairs. Keep sailing and allowing us northerners to live vicariously through you.
After soon long in Indian town... it is so great to see you guys on the water, sailing and enjoying the fruits of some serious labor. You defiantly put in the graft to enjoy the dream. Good on you guys, love the channel. Fair winds and following seas!!! P.s.....running out of coffee is a terrible sin...keel haul ya!!
Looks like a great time. I just bought a Columbia 10.7 and getting it ready to launch for the first time in Lake Michigan. Maybe we'll sail it down there in the near future.
Jeff, Once a bit of paint was worn away, the centerboard hasn't had an issue raising or lowering. Not sure how much paint is left, but the board doesn't get much sun (so low growth). Matt
I sit here in sunny and hot Arizona wishing for the day I can join in on the sailing life. Until then I'll live vicariously through your videos. Thanks for the videos...
We LOVE hearing your comments!! We'll be away from the internet for a few days, but we'll be responding to you as soon as we can. Thanks for watching! 😍⛵
MJ Sailing Great vid again you legends 👍.
Out of coffee = MAYDAY
Hey, if and when you make it to Sarasota area of Florida, give me a shout. We get dinner!
Living the dream. Please keep up the great work and wonderful footage :)
Love your financial transparency. Nice video.
I really appreciate when you get a new video out. It's so relaxing to tag along on a new episode of your journey after a long day at work. Thanks for the mental get away!
The laundry episode. If you ever go tropical ,you’ll have two shirts and one pair of shorts and your laundry bill will disappear .
Unless your're me, and while in St. Barth's you do 3 outfit changes a day. 😅
It's great that you guys add your spend at the end of the videos. It gives a much more transparent perspective on the life you two have chosen to share with your audience.
You take financial openness to extreme. Thank you for sharing your lifestyle!
I agree. I love it, though. It gives people a very good idea of what they can expect to spend if/when they decide to go cruising. Very helpful!
Matt and Jessica, Greatly enjoying your videos. Your channel allows us to see places where some off us normally wouldn't be able to visit. Keep up the fantastic work!
I'm from Kazoo, & love your water journey of life. This way you get seasick & I don't!
kalamazoo strong baby
We appreciate your effort putting together these videos. Love seeing other GR folks living the dream. Dan
Country music in Michigan? Don't you remember Motown? Maybe Jimmy Buffet. Great video, though we've had snow here. So it is nice to see warm tropical waters.
West Michigan is full of farmland, and people LOOVE their pickup trucks and country music there, haha.
+MJ Sailing...smitten with the mitten
Man, I enjoy seeing the warm weather in your videos. It feels like spring and summer will never show up this year!
I love watching your videos! Its nice to see somebody living the dream that so many of us share. Thank you!

Love every minute of y'all's videos! Always keeping up in the loop on everyday things (long trek to do laundry) and just very down to earth people. Your videos bring a pleasant side to the world that is so rush rush and chaos all the time. Keep up the great content and safe travels!
More Matt please?
amham48 yeah that's great and all but Matt is a freaking legend
More Matt to come for sure!
MJ Sailing lol 😄😎
The videos are awesome, love your adventures . have been following along ever since you started the refit
Is z non Matt's sock puppet account? haha
I am soo glad to see you finally getting the boat out and about. I totally admire your tenacity. Y'all have done a great job on that boat!!!
Do you know why I look at your videos? It's simply because you are good people. You have great adventures, and then you go through uncomfortable things, like sleeping on the salon floor because the berths are to uncomfortable, but you seem to get along and seem like good folk. Keep it coming.
Been fun to see you reap the good times you've earned with all the hard work you put in on the boat.
After 23 years in the Navy I totally get that feeling when you return to the US for the first time in a long time!!!!
So glad you guys are enjoying the fruits of all that hard work refitting your dream boat!
Enjoy your videos. They are gorgeous and bring life to us that are stuck in the Georgia Mountains. Thank You!
Great show, it helps us get through the winter in Minnesota. We are just around the corner from our sailing season. Thank you so much for sharing your lives and experiences,

Love your channel! You two are a huge inspiration for me as I am restoring and refitting a sailboat for cruising. Thank you! Keep up the great work
The hard work that you put in is evident and sets you apart from your peers
Nice video, thanks for sharing. I was sailing off San Diego one summer with my 70 year father and a friend when there was an radio message from the coast guard looking for a lost sailor. They just happened to find him a couple of miles off of Mission Bay and as we watched the rescue, the coast guard began watching us. It is so nice to see you guys being able to find such secluded places in the Bahamas! One month until we launch the new to us boat!
Congratulations!!! And yes, Double Breasted is definitely a favorite of ours now. 😍
On our list of places to go, even if it will be some time before we cross the Atlantic. :)
Seeing your videos has got me looking at boats. I'm learning quite a bit from them as well, thank you.
You guys are my weekly getaway! Much appreciated!
You three are living the life. Glad you made it back safely.
From one Grand Rapidian to another. Love watching your adventures.
Beautiful reportage of your stint in the Bahamas...keep it up.
Tremendously helpful publishing your expense reports and will guide us when we get out on the water down there.
Keep on you two!
GLAD TO SEE YOU GUYS BACK ON THE WATER. ENJOYING LIFE INSTEAD OF JUST LIVING IT.
Your expense sheet at the end of the video is very much appreciated. Transparency proves the dream is achievable. Kudos!
Fair winds.
Thank you guy so much for your honesty and openness about the financial costs...it helps us with our plannning
This episode really mirrored the things landlocked cruisers such as ourselves experience. Thanks so much for the review of Peanut Island. It looks to be a cool place to visit when cruising in the area. Thanks for your continued excellent videos and allowing me to live vicariously through you both.
Glad you made it back. Enjoy our great weather. Good video and that looked like a standard Gulfstream crossing. I've been a lot worst. Welcome back!
Great job guys as usual. I love your boat. All the work shows.
Fair winds,
Jay
Welcome back to Florida, we got back to Key West Monday, took a ride to the upper keys, the devastation from the hurricane brought us to tears, RV parks, marinas, state parks, local residence, they are all gone, places where you knew something was there is now just barren land, and all the beautiful landscape and palm trees that once lined U.S.1 are all gone, what really got to me was the mountains of boats that were destroyed, pushed up in a pile waiting to be hauled off, hopefully people had insurance to cover their losses, its going to take years to rebuild if they do rebuild.
Thanks guys... really enjoyed this episode!
the new sail looks good ! matches the boat perfectly!!
Watching you steer with the tiller it looks like it can be a much quicker response than a wheel, and possibly even more precise!
Welcome back, the boat looks great. Weather reports are a roll of the dice, in fact that is likely how they decide between two scenarios.
Glad you are back we love hearing about your adventures
Nice to see warm weather. Grand Rapids was 31 today. Lots of snow and ice the last couple days.
Your laundry run reminded me of walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain and how its hard to stop to do laundry when you're having fun and it's just going to get dirty again the next day! Have a great time you two, I love following your adventures, hopefully soon I can do the same
Welcome back, I can't wait to see your new Precision Sail and the other boat goodies you received!
It is great to see your disclosure of expenses, along with explaining operational equipment and how they work. Makes me want to get back into a boat and join the fun. Maybe as a retirement strategy. Thank you all for your videos.
It's hard to find a better way to make retirement money stretch than living on a boat. Come join the fun!
Matt
My compliments! It is great to follow your adventures! I just came back from spending a few days in Abaco! Great island!
Love the fact you provide the spending, I enjoy your videos, just another add to make them more appealing!
I enjoy seeing your time on the boat and the differnt places you travel to.
Always enjoy your videos! We just bought a Hylas 47 and are about 3 years from untying the dock lines for good. May our paths one day cross!
Your camera work is getting quite good. Impressed by your channel and the disclosure of what it’s really costing to Sail. Keep up the great work.
What a blast watching you guys make your way around. Cant wait to see how the new sail looks on elements.
Love your videos, wish there were more of them. Glad to see you are sailing again. Hello from South Carolina.
Would love to see another detailed boat walk-through highlighting all of the changes/upgrades you have made, as well as a commentary of what has worked/not worked for you. What did you decide to do about the traveler?
Hey guys. Hope you're having a blast. It looks beautiful. What is your draft on the boat?
Love watching your videos. Glad to see you on the seas and off the hard. I really enjoy your music choices. Keep up the good work.
I was wondering if the P. Diddy would fit in, lol.
The addition of Houdini makes everything awlrite;)

Love the layout of expenses at the end, thanks guys, that helps teach a lot with that information.
You two have come a long way with these videos.....you actually managed to make doing laundry semi-interesting. Thanks for another great video. Ken in St. Pete

Very cool video, shows how weather can be different then forecasted , so always be prepared , nothing like coming back home to Florida!!
Nice video. Glad to see you back in Florida. Can't wait to see the new sail.
Thanks for the lead on Stuart Plastics. They were great. I replaced all my portlights and hatch lenses....
Looks like a great time. I just bought a Columbia 10.7 and getting it ready to launch for the first time in Lake Michigan. Maybe we'll sail it down there in the near future.
Thanks for sharing!! Keep the great videos coming! Love seeing the sunshine, it’s so gloomy and cold here yet in Michigan.
I really like that you went with a tiller rather than a wheel. Seems to open up the cockpit very nicely.
Looking forward to hearing about how the boat handles and if you guys are happy with the refit. Did you get the issue of the stuck centerboard fixed?
Jeff, Once a bit of paint was worn away, the centerboard hasn't had an issue raising or lowering. Not sure how much paint is left, but the board doesn't get much sun (so low growth).
Matt
I have a center cockpit Hunter Passage 450 with a dodger, really helps with the spray. Glad to see you are fixing that.
Love the videos. You are causing us to consider more Abacos vice Exumas in our Shannon 38 despite Winter Northers. Thanks for all the efforts to vlog.
Awesome video! I have been bingeing your channel for hours now. Keep making them!
Thank you for following along!
I sit here in sunny and hot Arizona wishing for the day I can join in on the sailing life. Until then I'll live vicariously through your videos. Thanks for the videos...
Awesome job illustrating the unpredictable nature of the ocean.
Welcome 'home'! Great music selection. What are your plans for the rest of this year?
I forgot to mention - great vid. Very enjoyable to watch. Love the sailing scenes.
Caught the view of your new sails at the end of this video and they really look great. Can't wait to see what you think about them.
