Jim Carrey completely stole this Christmas film 😂😁😂😊
Aw man, I hope he gives it back! That seems out of character for him.
He’s the main character, “stealing the show” is usually reserved for supporting roles, imo
@@fattymatty9319 no
@@fattymatty9319lol he was making a comparison of Jim carrey stealing the film to the grinch stealing Christmas 😂
Stole everything else
"Am I just eating because I'm bored??"
The most relatable line to exist.
Also the "Our baby's here! He looks just like your boss..." is gold.
A fun fact. When the Grinch pulled the tablecloth off the table everything was supposed to fall off. When it didn't Jim Carey stayed in character and ran back to knock everything off the table.
That part had me crying 😂
Love Jim Carrey as The Grinch! He went through such hell to make this movie (the costume was suffocating, so military trainers came in to teach him how to manage his panic at not being able to breathe normally like they do for Navy Seal divers and others who need that sort of training) just to make kids happy at Christmas and bring a beloved kid's book to life. He's a treasure! :)
Wow, never knew this. I just know Jim always "goes there" in his roles, and it's a joy to behold each time. What a guy!
The grinch costume was also heavy and hard to move in and made him clostrophobic
It was CIA not navy seals
@@mohammedashian8094 it was Area 51 agents, not CIA
@@TheCrazyCloon it was aliens INSIDE Area 51 get it right come on
Jim Carrey is truly unique, from amazing comedy to profound drama, the amount of joy he's brought to the entire planet is incalculable.
One of my favorite personal theories about the phone book...
Grinch goes through it alphabetically and says "LOATHE ENITIRELY" to a specific name.
And his nemesis just happens to be named "Augustus May Who."
A morbid fact about this movie is the kid who played young grinch was actually 18 years old, and died a year or 2 after the movie released because of his dwarfism.
Yep. He also played Timmy in a fantasy soap opera called "Passions" that used to air on mid-day network TV.
Dang that’s sad
THAT was Timmy from Passions!?! No way!! No wonder he felt strangely familiar! My aunt Yole, who used to babysit me when I was a kid, used to watch Passions and other sopas all the time and I saw a few episodes. She told me about Timmy's actor! That blows my mind! RIP to him.@@NikkiKNuvo
@@NikkiKNuvohe played in Family Masters too
I'm glad he was able to make the most of his brief time on Earth to help bring joys to millions making this movie. May he RIP.
"solve world hunger. Tell no one" iw one of my favourite lines ever
No one could've pulled off the grinch like Jim Carrey!
That wasn't meant to happen. He was meant to drag off the stuff off when he pulled the table cloth but since he accidently made the cloth pulling perfectly, he went back to knock the stuff down. Since the improvised take was so much funnier than the intended idea, it ended up in the movie.
💯
I worked at a movie theater when this movie came out. Back then, we dealt with film (before digital) and had to put the reels together and watch the movie Thursday nights to make sure they would run properly before the first showings. This was the first one I put together unsupervised. It was such an anticipated movie (and close to Christmas) my manager let the entire staff watch this movie and provided enough pizzas to feed the 50+ employees (it was usually just 1 person, some exceptions were made though, to watch each movie). Still brings up fond memories.
There will never be another Grinch like Jim Carrey, iconic performance
I love this movie because I had the book as a kid. Only Jim Carrey could have really captured the wickedness and humor needed for this part.
They bullied him into isolation and then continued to bully him. I'm glad he stole their christmas!
Amen
Not only that the Whos didn't get the true meaning of Christmas either, so it wasn't just Grinch that was confused. Because the Whos were obsessed with the materialism aspect of Christmas.
I cheered when he stole their presents. The movie opened with them at the store, not each other. Only Cindy Lou saw him for the person he is. The mayor tormented him the worst. When the Grinch went off of at the Jubilation before he torched the tree, everything he said was correct. The Who's turned the Grinch the way he was. He wanted to give his crush Martha May the gift as a child, but the mayor bullied him. The mayor is the worst of all of the Who's. The Who's are just materlistic. I like Cindy Lou, though. I cheered when he stole their presents. I see things from the Grinch's view sometimes.
No one ever could have played the Grinch better than Jim Carrey. The sets, the makeup, along with the performances from Carrey and cast are all perfect, it's like watching a real life cartoon.
The scene of where he pulled the table cloth off to make his "kilt", wasnt meant to go like that. It was set up deliberately so that when he pulled it, everything would fall off. But because nothing fell since Jim pulled it so fast, he straight up improvised going back and trashing it all. So they kept that in for the film.
Fun fact:
That little girl who plays Cindy (Taylor Momsen), is the now the front woman of the rock band "The Pretty Reckless".
She was an adorable child. I wish her well in life. :)
Damn you. I was just about to post that
Wish I had £1 every time someone types that 💤💤💤
And gossip girl?
@@barbados_ririfenty8553Yes she was, I did watch the first season only since that's was the only season with good writing. @FriendlySpaceNinja said so.
I don’t care what anyone says this is definitely the funniest Christmas movie and it still makes me laugh every year I watch it with my family
*The scene where the who's are all singing despite their shit being stolen will always give me chills*
"Joy is a choice." Please excuse my cheesiness; it's Christmas. 😊
@@NikkiKNuvo nah I love that
This is 20 years old and it's STILL fabulous!!!! Love Jim Carrey!!! 8 hours he had to sit for that makeup off and on. He said it was the hardest role he's had because of the costume. It was torture for him but he is amazing! That part where he put on the ball cap and giving Max "direction" was a direct reference to Ron Howard's directing, LOL!
Happy holidays guys. I'm a 71 yr old Veteran and you make my party. It's like watching movies with my kids! And I thank you!
18:40- “This is not pudding” 😂😂
The Grinch was able to lift the sleigh with Cindy Lou cause based on the animated version from the mid 60's...he found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two!
I remember watching this at the movie theater with my family!
It made me laugh so hard 😆😆
The casting of Jim Carrey was brilliant. This role was made for him. Every so often an actor will be the perfect and be the only one to play that character. The definitive one. Speaking about definitive many people consider the 1951 British Christmas movie "A Christmas Carol" (British title "Scrooge") with Alastair Sim and a cast of (at the time) accomplished and acclaimed English actors. This is the definitive before and after "A Christmas Carol" version. The running time is 86 minutes. Also it's in black & white. A American film critic Leonard Maltin " Superb film is too good to be shown only at Christmastime." So even though for some people Christmas may be "over" at 11:59pm December 25. The secular celebration "ends" on 1 January. The Roman Catholics, Lutheran's, Anglicans and other Western traditions go to at least 6 January (Epiphany- The 3 Kings, Magi, 3 Wise Men make their appearance and present their gifts to the Baby Jesus). In some countries Epiphany is a national holiday. More important than Christmas, presents are exchanged on Epiphany. From Christmas day to Epiphany is considered the 12 Days of Christmas. (The Christmas season) not the temporal, secular, and commercial season from Thanksgiving to Christmas Day.
For future Christmas movie suggestions:
The Christmas Shoes, White Christmas, (1954 with Bing Crosby, Joyeux Noel, (Foreign film based on true events in WWI) Miracle On 34th Street (orginal 1947), The Muppet Christmas Carol,
Animated/Stop Action/Claymation original TV versions
Frosty The Snowman, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Little Drummer Boy, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The book and the old animated Grinch have always been fun... but when this came out it just brought the children's classic book to life! Love him as the Grinch! (and a bonus for us music lovers, Faith Hill sings the soundtrack song "Where are you Christmas"
car explosion scene still funny as shit 💀
Honestly forever my favorite version of the Grinch story in movie form. Jim Carrey did amazing at his role, and though I practically know all the lines by heart, I still find myself laughing with the jokes.
I agree
Best versions of A Christmas Carol (Scrooge) in my opinion is the Muppets Christmas Carol, and Scrooged with Bill Murray.
Jim Carey put's in a career best performance in this film and gets no real credit for it master class of acting 😂
I watched this in the theater when it came out and I took the last seat in the theater! It was Amazing:)
Glad for your reactions, it’s like I get to spend time with someone for Christmas!!! 😊
When he tells the dog to pick out a bow 😂
Lord you all didn’t have to do this for us 😭
Thank you two so much for all the work and effort you all put into this content.
Hope you all had a blessed Christmas! 😊
This is so perfect for Christmas Day. Asia has always reminded me of Cindy Lou Who with her cute nose, bright eyes, and pretty smile lol. And Jim Carrey was the PERFECT person for the job. Merry Christmas, Fam!
One of Jim Carrey`s best roles, but the dog stole the show lol...I`ve loved this one since its release...An outstanding movie...The animated one from my childhood is also awesome...Merry Christmas to you both and your family.
I Googled to find the dog's real name and learned that Max was played by six shelter dogs that all got adopted when the filming was finished. They wore fake ears so they looked alike. How heartwarming is that? ❤
Thats awesome...Thanks for the info.@@lala_sparkles8035
Merry Christmas from Sweden. Your interaction is SO heartwarming and fun. Great reaction, I remember watching it a couple of years ago. Fun time! I hope you will watch the first two Blade movies next. The third movie isn't all that great, to be honest.
Didn’t understand the taxi line, “it’s because I’m Green! Isn’t it!” When I was a kid…lol
Him yeeting himself down the mountain was my favorite as a kid. Lol
This movie has great quotes.
One of the most faithful movie adaptations of "A Christmas Carol" that was most faithful to the original novella by Charles Dickens was the version produced and acted by Patrick Stewart. It included scenes from the book often edited out of virtually all the other movies. Patrick Stewart did that story as a one-man play for sometime and, being an English actor, was keen on doing a film version as accurate to the book as possible. He succeeded. His version was a made-for-tv version but it is exceptional!!! That's the one I would recommend. However most versions put on film ( except Disney's Mickey Mouse and Muppets versions which are enjoyable in their own way- though not very accurate) are very good adaptations. The animated Jim Carrey version is the best of the most recent, and it's surprisingly very emotional, but as far as accuracy to the phenomenal book goes, Patrick Stewart's version remains the most accurate to date.
I’ve watched this so many times, just to hear Asia say “our baby’s here. Hey hunny our baby’s here” 😭😭😭🤣
Jim Carrey improvised the line "Six thirty: Dinner with me. I can't cancel that again!".
My mom and my 6 yr old daughter just recently watched this together. My 6 yr old loves the joke is your refrigerator running ? - well you better go catch it.
Jim Carrey also played Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol in 2009 it was animated
And his mannerisms, even as an animated character, were so intricately phenomenal! Jim Carrey's humility is the only reason why he's not a huge Tom Cruise-esque esteemed star. His talent certainly qualifies him.
It's crazy how old this movie is and till this day still one of the best Christmas movie ever
The Scrooge with Bill Murray is GOOD ! 🤪
the holiday get together was a key party in case you don’t know it’s a party where everyone puts their house keys into a bowl and whichever keys you pick out is who go home with it’s a swinger party 😅
Classic! I remember watching this one growing up
Me too I remember watching How the Grinch stole Christmas when I was a kid in the early 2000s 😍
Jim Carrey is indeed amazing at adlibbing and improvising. Dude is really one of a kind.
You know the scene where he pulls the table cloth out from under the pile of silver dishes? that was an accident lmao, the stuff was supposed to fall with the tablecloth, but carrey accidently pulled it out perfectly, and then did knocking it all down manually himself. Hes just so aware of the perfect moments to say or do anything.
I love the way Jim Carrey sang the iconic song "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" while adding his own comedic elements to it like the hilarious sound effects. And his freak out when the sleigh takes off. "We're going to die!! We're going to die!! I'm going to throw up, and then I'm going to die!! Mommy, tell it to stop!!"
Also, I really love how the actress who played Cindy Lou, Taylor Momsen went on to be the front woman and lead singer of a band called The Pretty Reckless. Also, I can sympathize with the Grinch, having been a victim of bullying growing up. I know the feeling of not liking people because of it.
Side notes:
I would LOVE to have Martha May's Santa outfit, her Whobilation gown and her flowing robe. (in my size, of course. I'm quite a bit taller and thicker than Christine Baranski)
Augustus May Who is the true villain, and I never feel bad when the Grinch gets back at him for the years of torment by shaving his Quaker Oats mascot hair. 😆🤣
Just hearing Asia laugh makes my day Merry Christmas to both of you !
Any Christmas movie that becomes a classic AFTER the classic era is another level. This movie has to show every year because it's not the spirit without it
#JCistheGoat
Merry Christmas Asia and BJ!!! 🎄🎁Saw this in the theater. Jim Carey was as well the perfect Grinch! Loved it!!❤️
I remember reading & watching all the cartoons in the 70's. Do you remember " Green Eggs & Ham " ?😂😂
I love all three versions... grew up with the original, of course. 🎄 Many thanks to Asia and BJ... may your 2024 be peaceful and pleasant.
Same to you Fam! Much love ❤️❤️

The spread eagle 🦅 😂😂 and Asia gets me everytime with her laugh I love it!! I can't wait for this.. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.
Little Cindy Lu Who, turned into a darn good singer frontlining the music group "The Pretty Reckless"
Y'all may have already reacted to 'em.
‘Where are you Christmas’ to ‘I’m goin’ to hell!’

After I find someone to mix my medicine....lol
Wish i had £1 for every time someone types that 💤💤💤💤 .
Fun fact: the girl who plays Cindy Lou Who is now the vocalist of a metal band called Pretty Reckless
Fun fact, the scene where the Grinch pulls the table cloth off the table and everything stayed on was an accident. Everything was supposed to fall and Jim went back and knocked it off himself. The scene where the Grinch was wearing the cap, Jim was mocking Ron Howard, the director who's know for always wearing caps.
Jim Carrey's animated "A Christmas Carol" is the best version and not to be missed!
Y’all should of watch this one as a whole family how y’all gonna leave the kids out of this reaction fr 😂
Omg sooo can’t wait for y’all to react to this one of the Christmas movies ever… I know yall r just gonna laugh the whole time 😂
Jim Carey was amazing in this! He actually hZd to have therapy to recover from filming, did to the makeup process. As for the Christmas Carol, do your self a favor and watch the Muppets Christmas Carol! It's absolutely hilarious!
The little girl who plays Cindy-Lou grows up to be the frontwoman of the band The Pretty Reckless who you guys have reacted to before
💤💤💤
Scrooge/Christmas Carol animation with Jim Carey as Scrooge, it's my favourite Christmas Carol movie so far.
Cindy Lou is the lead singer of the group 'The Pretty Reckless"
The Grinch did NOT STEAL CHRISTMAS! The Grinch has never fully recovered his reputation after this movie.😢
9:57 Nice message
Next year y’all should do the animated version of a Christmas Carol but it’s the Flintstones it’s the Flintstones Christmas Carol it’s so iconic
I don't think I've seen you enjoy a movie so much as this one. Alot of fun and laughter.
This was a gd time. Merry Christmas 🎄
my favourite movie! jim carrey nailed it!
2 Christmas movies back to back with Asia and BJ....it's a Christmas miracle!
When it comes to his physical comedy k think this is right up there with The Mask as Jim’s best work!
One of my favorite Christmas movies ever!! I love that you both chose this movie to watch ❤ you both make my day
I just found out on TikTok, them whos were having a swingers party & I can’t look at this movie the same lmao
Jim Carrey really did an amazing take on a wonderful classic. Love the baby Grinch. A lil love and compassion can go a long way. Thanx so much for the Christmas giggle. Many Blessings and hope recovery is going well. Have a safe, Blessed Holiday wk. Peace
Jim plays The Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, it's really good, I think you guys would like it
I'm Remember Seeing This Movie at The Movie Theaters With My Big Brother back in the 2000s it's always one of My Favorite Christmas Movies Jim Carrey Really Did an Awesome Job Playing The Grinch. Please Ms. Asia And Mr. BJ React to "A Christmas Carol" Movie With Jim Carrey As Scrooge. If You Haven't Seen It Yet.
The Grinch worked the dog so hard, the dog maxed out.
Merry Christmas to both of you!! By the way in case you didn't know , that's Anthony Hopkins voice over on the narration of the movie.
😂"ONLY", Jim Carrey😂
Merrie Christmas and Happy Holidays ya'll!

I prefer when it's on t.v. cause there's extra scenes, especially the lights contest between mama Lou who and Martha may
The best A Christmas Carol is the one with George C. Scott
The ending of this movie always makes me cry, and the scene where the grinch is trying to scare Cindy Lou Who is actually a funny meme 😂
Iconic Jim Carrey as The Grinch . Merry Christmas to you guys and to every one. Max the doggy , is a star in the movie. Fantastic movie.
Watch the A Christmas Carol from 1953 with Alister Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge .. it’s the best one. And then watch the movie Scrooged with Bill Murray.
A Xmas classic! I watch this every Xmas besides Home Alone. Love the humor. Very Norwegian, which I am, aka sarcasm, irony and satire😝 And jokes aside it is actually a sad story about bullying, not fitting in, and therefore isolation mixed in with commercial
Xmas celebration. I can relate as a trauma survivor of bullying and abuse. Teasing is just a word adults back in the day used to use to downplay bullying.
There is a Disney a Christmas carol with Jim Carrey and I haven't seen any TH-camr react to it yet hope you had a wonderful and safe Christmas ⛄🎁
Look up the Actress that played Cindy Lou Whoo, She is now the lead singer of a Rock Band
Its funny that you mention a Christmas Carol at the beginning of the video (my opinion is that Dr Suess modeled the Grinch's personality after Ebeneezer Scrooge). If you do get around to watching a Christmas Carol for next Christmas, please watch the Disney version from 2009. Jim Carrey actually plays Scrooge lmao. He's cursed to play the grumpy character in every Christmas movie I swear 😂😂😂 Or you could watch it now. I mean the song does say "we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year." You can still make it in time.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family Asia and BJ , many blessings in the new year
So good. Saw this in the theatre when It came out. Wish jim carrey would act again. He’s so talented, comedy, acting and even his singing.
Cindy Lou Who is played by Taylor Mommsen. She is a present day singer in the band The Pretty Reckless and has a hit song Heaven Knows. You should check it out.
Jim Carey is great but I LOVE Christine Baranski so much in this ❤
Merry Christmas 🎅
Merry Christmas and thank you for always helping me to smile with your reactions I appreciate what you are doing
The part were he pulls the cloth off the table and it does not fall down and he comes back and knocks it down.....he pulled it off perfectly by accident cause the scene was supposed to be he pulls the cloth and everything falls but he some how pulled it off perfectly but the way the scene went was better this way.
The Jim Carrey's Version of The Grinch will always Be Better than the Up to Date one from 2018.
