My daughter was just in Copenhagen recently. She loved the city. The breakfast baked goods looked scrumptious! Best line "there goes 50 cents!"

hehehe, totally worth the $5, which now that I'm back in the States, doesn't seem as shockingly expensive as it did at the time. Copenhagen is wonderful.

Copenhagen appear expensive, but you can get great food considerable cheaper if asking the locals (or go outside city centre). Danish can be bought at any bakery much cheaper and are generally of good quality

Another great one. I spent some time in Denmark in the mid 90s and it was really expensive then. Also - and I don't know if this has changed since then - it seemed like EVERYONE smoked!!! Kudos to Hays for a very lucid and descriptive theme park ride review. Could be a career there some day!!

Thanks! Hmm-- I didn't notice the smoking. Maybe they've cut back? I always notice it in France, Spain, and Italy!

You call Europe for a small continent?? Europe is bigger than US.
If you don't want attraction, there is 24h, 48h and 72h citypass. With such a card you can travel as much as you want, with any public transport, such as Trains, S-train, Metro, Busses and ferries.
I usually buy a card when in CPH, the convenience, as you mentioned.

From top of Norway to southern Spain there is 5400 km (3300 miles) in car.

Denmark is expensive no doubt, but you need to know that for a Dane like me, with a part-time job as a night watch with no degree required (though I do have one), my wages are $245 to $360 a day, depending on the hours and day of the week (with the income taxes being around 25% when you consider all the deductibles and that the first around $7,000 you earn a year is being tax free)

Tivoli is kind of a strange thing.
When Tivoli was established in 1843, it was about a third of the size it is today. In 1843, Tivoli was outside the actual city of Copenhagen. The lake in Tivoli today is a remnant of the moat that surrounded the medieval part of Copenhagen up to the 1850s. The last part of that moat was filled in around 1880. The first central station in Copenhagen was situated at one of the corners of today's Tivoli. This was included into the Tivoli of today around 1870 after the Central Station moved to another location in 1864.
Tivoli has always been expensive and the general price development in Copenhagen has only gotten much worse after the city has gotten a lot of attention online. More tourists always force prices up.
North of Copenhagen, you may find the oldest amusement park in the world. Locals many times prefer to go there instead of Tivoli. Entrance is free but rides are generally not that much cheaper although the prices are not at the extreme levels as in Tivoli.

First time discovering your channel (a TH-cam suggestion). Some positives and negatives with the vlog. Positives: Your child is absolutely adorable and you had really good footage, taking the time to film and talk and explain what was going on. Negatives: The wife complained about the cost of things sooooo much that it was a bit off-putting. It also then made me quite sad that your child (who is getting this amaaaazing experience traveling the world and seeing diff places) also parroted the money concerns. When he asked how many monies you spent on the ride, it kinda broke my heart that the cost narrative is now something he is concerning himself with.
Safe travels and thank you for the vlog.

Interesting take! I think talking about money/cost transparently can instill good skills in the future. Also, many people watch travel vlogs to understand what it's like in that country, so I find it helpful when people give an overview of costs. But I understand your perspective, too. Thanks for watching.

@@StephandPete I completely understand and agree--to some point. Sharing costs can be super helpful. I think it was the frequent complaints about it were the issues I had. Just a single opinion. 🥰

How different is Irani food from the Parsi cuisine you had in Mumbai?

What a great question! Pretty different! But we just had two dishes, so I'm certainly no expert. The soup/stew dish we had used whey, which I hadn't eaten before. Very interesting!

Hi Steph! Yes, Denmark is super expensive, but we locals also earn relatively well 😊, at all levels. Fan of your humor and positive attitude towards things. And no! What you call a Danish, we call Vienna bread. A strike among Danish bakers in the 19th century meant that we had to attract bakers from other countries. Many of them were from Austria! We then created our own version of pastry. And no!
A cheese danish is American, not Danish. Can't say that some baker here hasn't made one.., but basically a Danish is a "Spandauer" (there are others). A Spandauer is either filled with custard or jelly and vanilla or chocolate glaze on top. Really good VLOG 👍

If you are paid to promote something in Denmark. And paying $5 , for things a the bakery, is still too expensive. Then I wouldn't recommend going.

I was just about to scold you 🤣about claiming that you only saved 7$, but I do have to admit that the 48 hour card is super expensive: You'd need to be on "Speed" to manage 80+ places in two days. Yeah! You do save a lot on public transport.., but still! As a local. I would say that 97$ pr. person for two days, is not only overpriced but a "Rip Off". Steph! I'd complain and tell them that 97$ for 48 Hours is moronic. Yes! CPH and Denmark is expensive (High standard of living, good income and such). But there is a limit, and 97$ far exceeds it 🙄 ! When U and Pete win "Who wants to be a Millionaire" ! Y'all come back 😎 !
