This is how the original game looked like to me when I was kid
it's so nice that it just doesn't look right for a ps1 game to be in 4k.
I mean, I play PS1 games at "4K" all the time on epsxe, but it never looks as perfectly rendered as this.
He obviously has some texture filters on there too which will be a big reason why it looks so "nice"
Personally I prefer the pixelated look with no filters.

@@fasoooli2751 Nah it's not the colors I noticed the difference with (although there might be slightly)
sadly that is the thing with these upscales. The original graphics were made designed with the playstation's hardware limitations in mind so they took advantage of those limitations and made it look good specifically for the ps1. So when we upscale it like this it can look quite off-putting.
This is basically how PS1 games looked like to all of us when we first played it.
Amazing video! The thing I love about it the most is that you know exactly which levels can be completed so you break each box in those, and skip them in the level that need a colored gem. As a Crash completionist it’s so satisfying to watch.
It's surreal seeing such angular graphics with such smooth animations.
Its mesmerizing. 🤩

I like the way this game looks on a crt. The colors are different and the pixels aren't perfect squares. Crash on crt has a cartoony impressionist vibe and less of a low poly look.

So is this not interpolated? Is it actually running at 60fps? Would this work with the original Spyro trilogy too? or just Crash 1?

Probably he's using “Duckstation”, it’s a new emulator that has a lot of enhancements and 4K is one of them
