    Paul, I have even more respect for your ceiling work while watching this video. I have enough trouble mudding smoothly over my 1960 home's kitchen ceiling (crack repaired with your endorsed techniques) with a sanded texture, but you are coping well with that really thick and variably textured ceiling! Thanks for all the instruction and the safety information (easily and commonly overlooked or ignored) ! My lungs really appreciate it ! 🙂

    #drywall tube... trying to watch as many of your videos as I can. 1st time DIY, and repairing a water damaged area in the ceiling- I cut it out, screwed-in a replacement piece of sheetrock... I got it to where I'm ready to put in a final smooth skim coat. 👍🏼 Thank you!

    Excellent videos Paul! I'm inspired and ready to take a second shot at a couple of ceiling cracks that I patched with mesh tape like 10 years ago and have since re-opened. I also recently installed crown molding in my dining room and encountered a wavy ceiling and a wavy wall in the same area. After diagnosing the problem the crown went in but there are gaps behind the crown that really needs some mud. The gaps are too big for caulking. I even brought someone in to look at it and he started talking about the old timers that had the skills to do this. He didn't want to tackle the job. I'm considering doing it myself.

    New sub here😀 i got a challenge for you😉 I live in a 74 single wide mobile home, famous for paneling! Cant afford to replace paneling with drywal ,i know i have to remove joint strips ,take staples out . Now how can i as simple as possible!!! Fill inbetween panels tape ,after that can i roller skim coat trowel out to fill in those paneling lines ,i am disabled and cant physically fill in each indent line,going around filling in "but joints" every 4' will be hard enough ! And how can i get away with as little sanding as possible ? I have to presand all my walls b4hand for proper adhesion! Oh do i prime b4 skim coat? And after?ps i have assisted with drywall mud and tape b4,but this trying to turn paneling into a drywal look as easy and cheap as possible, seems very daunting to say the least

    have customer with hairline cracks in the ceiling, we can see deflection happening from the steel stud frame. do you think fibafuse would be good enough to prevent the cracks from reapearing?

    Nice work. Will joint compound stick to previous painted surfaces or is it just for drywall. I have a wall that needs skimming but is painted. Help would be great. Thanks

    • @PaulPeck
      @PaulPeck  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will stick to previously painted surfaces. I recommend using an all purpose joint compound because it has more glue in it. That gives it better adhesion properties.👍🏻 I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!😎 -Paul
