    Bill, my favorite part of your videos is when you say things are common issues so I don’t feel like I’m the only one with all these fuckin problems. Thank you! Doing this in the kitchen this weekend. Perfect timing.

    Thank you so much for your clear, straightforward instructions. You've got a great talent in helping beginners understand why something has happened and what can be done to fix it without creating more fear/stress. Your videos are really encouraging for newbies to give it a go. 👍

    Awesome job well done. We have so many poorly filled cracks all over our bedroom ceiling in our 1930's house the whole ceiling could probably do with new plasterboard!

    Thank you SO much Bill. I've just cut some tiles from a kitchen wall and have screwed a patching panel into place and filled the gaps as you have described. The application of fibre tape was the bit I was gonna figure out myself, until you made it crystal clear how to properly use it. Love the videos mate. Please keep it up 👍

    How you go about a small hairline crack that goes through an area of the cornice down to underneath (onto wall). Is the tape and compound method the way to go?

    Hi, some pricing information for this job? And can you do it for my house?

  • @KL0900
    @KL0900 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great info as always Bill! What would you recommend for a crack running along the middle of a cornice that keeps coming back? Just go with no more gaps? Fill seems to let the crack come back and I cant reinforce it

    • @billshowto
      @billshowto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Cornice cracks are usually due to movement. I don’t like repairing cornices and prefer to replace them . I’ll do a video on how to replace them when I get time. Not a fun job👍

    Hi bill....could you offer me some advice if possible please...after a leak in the bathroom upstairs the ceiling downstairs has a crack..1 side of the crack has dropped a couple off mm, its not much but I can visibly see its dropped, I cant get under the bath to lift the floorboards to add an extra peice of timber where I would need to to give me something to screw the dropped side of the ceiling into😢... any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm thinking my only option is to use some mud and tape to repair the crack and spread the mud out a foot or so either side of the crack so the drop isn't so visible but im worried the ceiling not being gripped up on the side where its dropped and has a slight movement in it will just result in the crack reoccurring.
    Any suggestions would be great 👍
    Great video too 👍 👏

    How much would you charge for that sort of repair?
    I don’t think people realise that all plaster joins aren’t truly flush when taped and mudded correctly. This was a great video 👍

    If it's a wall and one side of the crack moves, what can you do to reinforce it?

  • @montyloads

    Great video bill... im a total novice, could I ask by priming then final coat do you just use a watered down paint to apply a coat to prime before the final coat or do you use some over primer before the final coat? 😬🙏

    @jackdawg4579 ปีที่แล้ว

    Going back through your plaster repair videos Bill as I am now retired and finally having a go at fixing things up at my place. Do you cover fixing internal corners where the paper tape is lifting in any of your videos? Not been able to find anything using the search function.
