Wow, Dave was/is fantastic. Together with Maby they were a force like Bonham/Jones. I think the Muppet masterdrummer, Animal, was based on your father. Joe has been a hero for me a big part of my life.
@mennobults6464 I must say my dad (dave Houghton) is a fantastic drummer, as for animal from the muppets your right there, he's a good man love him to pieces, Graham maybe is also an amazing player, there we're great in there day 😀 like I said fantastic memories ❣️
Without question, I am in the process of submitting information to the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame, and this will lead the way as to why they need to put them in
Joe Jackson is unique among artists because he seemed to change styles and genres with each successive album. This was often confusing to fans, and probably impacted his long term popularity, but it was never boring. A fabulous songwriter and consummate musician, he surrounds himself with top musicians and ALWAYS delivers a terrific show. One of the best, Joe truly is The Man. And after all these years, and at least five tours that I've seen live, THIS is still my favorite Joe Jackson song
I’m 65 now and when this came out I was shifting from acoustic to electric guitar. Good Lord I blasted this song in my apartment and learned to play every track on the album while running around the room with a Telecaster. It was a great time in my life. I still play Joe’s vinyl today. Fantastic songwriter and musician.
I am fifty three . Firat heard Joe Jackson's music in 1983 and saw him live a year later. Good stuff but I would have loved to see him in this show. Awesome performance...
my senior year in HS, way back in '78 I thought I was "The Man". Now I'm just an old man but listening to this revives my past memories of FM radio (KROQ), cassette tapes and being cool with $20 in my wallet, 1/2 tank of gas and buds. Life's a trip.
I can’t agree more. He is a masterful composer, player, songwriter, and singer, with such high musical taste and style. That said, it doesn’t get much more punk rock than this performance and this song, Lyndon’s got nothing on him with his attitude. The whole band is just amazing. Joe- Genius.l
A great musician and songwriter, from 1979 (Look Sharp) until 1986 (Big World) he released a string of great albums; Look Sharp & Night and Day were my favorite ones.
The last time I dressed up for Halloween(decades ago), I dressed up as Joe Jackson on the cover of this album. The old sportscoat with trinkets safety pinned on the inside, the fedora, it was great.
I find it so amazing looking back at Joe's body of work and how he kept striving to push himself artistically and he still is doing it today! Amazing artist!❤️🎸😎👍

There is a lot of very good music, but there is nothing that approaches this, and Joe's early albums, or Costello's and Graham Parker's, early ones. When Springsteen and Petty were in their prime for raw power, honesty, intellect in the lyrics and just one great song after another.
Absolutely, one of the finest dance tunes in rock history! I was fortunate to see the Joe Jackson Band in concert back in the early 80s. Thanks for this killer upload!
This was great. No question. But Joe Jackson's abilities go much further nowadays. He truly is one of, if not thee, most prolific songwriter of the modern age.His work just keeps getting better and better as the years roll by. I saw him for the Rain tour in Redwood city. I was not disappointed. Keep goin Joe. You are The Man!
He's still bringing it. saw him last week for the first time. Always loved Joe...seen Elvis Costello about 20 times...anyway if you haven't seen Shoeless Joe Jackson sing I'm The Man Live. You are missing a helluva lot.
I saw Joe Jackson at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. I think it was around when Night and Day was out or possibly Body and Soul. At some point between songs it was quiet, he was just about to start a song and then someone yelled "Free bird!" Joe Jackson got really mad and threatened to end the show. I still chuckle when I think about it. Was a great show and I'm still a huge Joe Jackson fan.
Went to see Joe Jackson in Toronto, Canada way back when. The show was stupendous, but deafeningly loud. Did Joe ever get inducted into the R+R Hall of Fame? Truly one of the most talented, versatile musicians of our era.

He’s one of the best in rock, doesn’t get as much recognition as he should. Just his work on the first two albums is insanely good.
Meet graham after joe played in 2008 he was just a great guy!!!!!
And the bass is actually loud enough in the mix. I _love_ that. It never happens.
