So, thirteen (well played) minutes of watching two hearts break over and over again... Sitting safe in the knowledge that my face probably resembled Meg's all the way throughout my first listen, too.
This is the best reaction so far. I thought I was the only one this deeply connected with Taylor music. You appreciated the the huge moments like the bridge and one of my favorite parts "how it glistened as it fell, I remember it all too well." The goosebumps were insane. All to well was my number 1 from day 1 in 2012. I remember being surprised to learn its a huge hit around mid 2010s when people kept talking about how big of a gem it is. So I've always had a deep attachment to all to well didn't even know if people liked it or not so when Taylor said 'hey one of them is even 10 minutes long last summer" I WAS COUNTING THE DAYS. I've never seen something more perfectly written. The melody compliments the lyrics and the story as it evolves. Not even to mention how profound the story is. Coming of age love and the hardest lessons. All to well is just something on it's own and I just couldn't process. I couldn't process that I was lucky enough to get a 10 minute version. A version that didn't just extended the song but brought new dimensions and colors to it. Taylor's over-delivery keeps me speechless every time. I'm a songwriter myself and I really want to write an even longer version. I have lyrics of my own I want to add plus some of her lyrics she left out from her journal. That would be just insane.
