In hindsight, this cut content of Rimuru as adventurer could easily be used for a "Slime Diaries" season 2
Maybe also showing Youm's crew adventures before the whole tragedy at tempest to show him and Mjuran's romantic development
Then have a quick recap at one point skimming over Rimuru becoming a demon lord so they could get back to comedic tone of the show if they somehow had spare time to get to that point

@@nerdybwi3122 I watched the first episode of "slime diaries" and skipped the rest as it looked like generic filler. Is there anything story related that would warrant watching hours of random goofing around?
@@user-jp7tw3sd3x It focuses on the characters like other slice-of-life animes while the main storyline is in the background (It goes through Milim visit, Gazel, and Youm arrival), and actually develops them a lot more than it gets credit for. It's (IMO) absolutely hilarious, and also has plenty of LN references if you're into that. It's definitely not for everyone, but there are countless moments that made it personally worth it for me. Milim has lots of deep and cute moments (while wearing real clothes too), Souka screentime is a blast, and I can *absolutely guarantee* that you will not see Geld the same way after watching Diaries. Again, no pressure to watch it. If time is the only issue, you could also read the manga on mangadex. (With the best Mjuran depiction in the entire franchise)
Edit: So volume 3 apparently isn’t on Mangadex (skips from volume 2 to 4), so you won’t be able to see as much of Myulan woops

It also shows New sides of more important characters.
Slime diaries also introduces anime onlys to zegion because he was skipped in season 1

@@whannabi well the whole point of the slice of life was to have something easier and cheaper to animate, they would’ve had to animate the fight scenes and they would’ve turned out crappy and that would’ve been even more disliked

It's such a weirdly piece of content that was cut they could have condensed it into 1 episode and move the Diablo epilogue-ish episode into an OVA, also this arc was peppered into the opening of season 2 part 1's OP.
1 episode is not enough to cover everything that happened during his adventure. at best it would need 2 or maybe 3 so as to not lose substance to context as to what is happening
1 would be leaving JTF and getting lost and meeting up with Geld
2 would be leaving gelds cabin, reaching blumund to start the guild certification ending with the demon summoning
3 would be gaining certification and heading towards ingrasia or even integrate it with the anime's ingrasia episode
@@GuardTower I can definitely see it get shaved down into one episode, Milim never brought up being scared of losing everything that was in slime diaries, so the self reflection part doesn't have context, the cabin part can get cut out and just have Rimiru notice the hallucegenic plants and the whole Blumund deal Rimiru felt tricked into signing was in season 2, they already re-arranged how he met Myourmallis so they don't even need the scene where he gives peg leg the full potion.

Yeah, true. Also, I rechecked Season 2 Part 1's opening, and yeah, it totally was peppered in. I thought that part of the opening was kinda weird when I first saw it, since nothing like that happened in Seasons 1 or 2, but now that I know about this, it's starting to make sense. Still, I think they should have an actual episode about it.
@GuardTower Nah, one episode is long enough if it's handled in a certain way. As mentioned by Steroyd, there are some parts that can realistically be taken out and some that can be shortened.

Thinking it the other way around by giving that relationship you give the ones that will eventually die the gratitude of being able to die among close friends/ loved ones

Slime LN is pretty good and covered pretty much everything you wanna know.
The first LN I finished reading is Slime and I am pretty proud of it.
Check out mushoku tensei Web novel when u have time, its finished and a pretty good read👌
Same here, it’s the first LN I ever read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I even went on to read the WN. The only disappointment I have so far between the two is how much they nerfed the dungeon and it’s residents in the LN. It’s personally my favorite arc because of how fun it is so it’s disappointing to see how much it was nerfed.
Spoilers:
In the WN no one ever gets past lvl 50 but in LN a group reaches lvl 100 to fight the big boss. They don’t defeat him but still the fact that they even reach there is a huge change. Plus I don’t even remember Zegion being real strong in the LN. In the WN he is the number 2 strongest after Rimiru as I recall he can defeat Diablo. He’s almost like Rimiru’s child because when Rimiru saved Zegion’s life, he gave him a part of his own body to heal him.

@@derryalif8606 I know but it lacks so much detail. So much of the nuances of characters are lost. Don’t get me wrong I also have the manga and enjoy it. It just that I want as much detail about slime(and other stories) that the manga version can’t provide.
That and reading is one of the great pleasures of my life.

This arc seems so interesting, I would've loved to see Rimuru ace this test. Such a shame it got skipped.
The funny thing is that they actually focused quite a bit on this content in the First OP of the second season, but never got around to doing it.
Speaking of which, I wonder how the anime will handle Beretta's introduction considering that was also in the First OP.

I feel like they're gonna do another OVA for this because i was wondering how would they animate this since it is in the main story, but hey, we never know.
It would be interesting to deep dive into milim's mind cos of how long lived she is and the insight in some of the one off comments she's made throughout the series.
She's a 20000-year-old child with so much power she could end entire nations with little effort. She's seen entire civilizations rise and fall, witnessed or caused some of the biggest, world-changing events in history, all the while maintaining the persona of an innocent, if somewhat spoiled, child. Of course her mind is interesting!

If you love the Tensura LNs, you should give Kumo Desu a shot! I found both LN series to have WAY more going on that a reader could possibly be ready for, yet, they give a kaleidoscope of fruitful detail and intrigue.

Nobody at A rank was there so nobody could grant him the rank

Well, at least with the reveal in the anime, that they’re elves, we know he has at least a few more centuries with them, probably. Elves in slime having a life span on average between 500 - 800 years.
The Vivy Song in the ad read was a nice touch, loved the ost. Also loved to hear about Rimuru’s adventures since we didn’t get to see them.

This is why i like how the manga tell the story they dont skip and the story just make sense one example is when rimuru tell his human that was a great moment but just cut off in the anime and they brush it off as a joke

Honestly, after reading the manga adaptation of tensura and to have seen this arc I was disappointed that "8bit" didn't add this into the anime, the only closet thing we got to seeing this arc in the anime was snippets of it in the opening/intro of season 2 part 1.

hahahaha that will most likely not happen since if they summon diablo they would probably call 30 or more summoners just to summon him. Another info is that Rimuru did not summon Diablo but Diablo just went in to magic circle to look like he was summoned

Can't believe that you dind't mention that part of this is shown in the opening of season 2 part 1. There's a bit that shows Eren and company waiting for Rimuru (trip to Blumund) and then he is shown fighting the monsters of the exam, including the demon at the end.
I recently Bought all the manga that are released for Slime. lot of cool stuff that didnt make it into the anime
and there is 'cool' stuff that did not make into the Manga from the LIght novel but there is always something lost when adapting between different mediums.
