  • I review the Ryobi Surface Cleaner for Gas Pressure Washers in this video. I show you if it will work with electric pressure washers or does it only works with gas as the packaging says. I show you how fast it works, the tricks to using it, and if it's really worth the money.
**** THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW **** I purchased this attachment myself because I needed to clean my driveway faster.

Awesome job! You are the only one who has answered this question of compatibility (electric pressure washer with higher gas-rated surface cleaner). Thanks again!

Yeah thanks! I've tried the 12in ryobi wt caster wheels on my 2300psi machine and the plastic swivel arm started to leak heavily after 15 min.! Was looking for model wt metal parts for all mobile parts but most of them say "for gas" machine or have min. pressure & gpm requirements to works. Then at least I'm now sure this model would work! Later on I saw this video who make me doubt again :S th-cam.com/video/oyEzQ80BRAY/w-d-xo.html

Thank you! I work at the big Orange store, and today I unpacked surface cleaners. I had no idea what they were for -but your video told me everything I need to know to explain the time saving benefits of the surface cleaner! Thank you.

We had a big house & patio/driveway but now we have downsized to a retirement community with a mobile home & this electric unit is exactly what I need. Not only is the cement area smaller but now its vinyl siding that I'll be cleaning so I don't want all that pressure from a big gas powered unit. My thanks to you as I have watched three of your video's on this & they are all full of good information & easy to understand. I would like to add a tip that you might be able to use. When I had my gas unit I used a tennis ball (stolen from our dog) in the handle so that I never had to keep a constant pressure on the handle with my hand. I could guide the surface cleaner with just a couple of fingers & had no fatigue whatsoever in my hand. Just an FYI.

Here's a trick I use to avoid hand pain when using my pressure washer for hours on end: I use a 1/2" wide Velcro strap to lock the trigger in the on position, but a quick tug of the end releases the trigger.

I haven’t tried this Ryobi surface cleaner with my 1900psi electric, however it sure kicks butt with my 3300psi Ryobi gas pressure washer!! I might have to try it just to see on my little electric..

It's slower with the electric washer but it's way easier than just using a nozzle.

First - I read all the great reviews and bought. I was BLOWN AWAY! This thing was GREAT! For about 15 hours - and the problems started. Reading the bad reviews - I started having the problems others have - leaking around the shaft - the arms stops spinning - or barely spinning to the point it won't clean any more. I took it back to Home Depot - and exchanged it for another one. Again - about 15-20 hours - and same problems. I called RYOBI - and they basically confirmed they are expendable item. ALSO - the spray tips ARE NOT replaceable as are the tips in all commercial machines - BECAUSE they will wear out - and that affects cleaning ability. SOOOO - if you buy this knowing that you will only get about 15-20 hours use out of it -- then it is 5 STARS -- but if you are planning on using it for more than this - you will be disappointed. Just understand what you are buying. I took the second one back to Home Depot for a refund. I will apply this money to one which you can use longer and has replacement parts.

You could try blocking off one of the jets so all the power goes through one jet, it may have a downside but worth a try.

I wouldn't do that...it would put unequal pressure on the bearing in the center of that rotating arm, inviting premature wear and tear on that bearing.
I have one of these, although not the Ryobi version. I would recommend one thing for those of you with back troubles: Pick up a pressure washer wand extension. Home Depot and Lowes both usually carry those in the same place you'd buy the disk attachment itself. That way, you can address your work standing up reasonably straight and you won't have to stoop over at the worst possible angle (from your waist) while using this.
And for those of you with gas washers (I have both, electric and gas), Home Depot's rental place has a big commercial-sized rotating washer attachment for rent. It's much larger in diameter (I would guess it may be 20-24" in diameter, so think "lawn mower sized") and has a double-handle handlebar thing, so that you can use it with two hands and while walking/standing up straight.
I plan to rent one of those this year for the driveway, sidewalk, and pool patio area, to see how fast it lets me work and whether or not it will be easier on my back.
If I like it, I'll keep an eye out for sales of these once they go off rental, because ... well, pressure washing my driveway, sidewalks, and pool deck would probably take only a couple hours, with most of my time spent moving and moving again the pressure washer itself in order to reach all of those places. One thing that might be the case with a unit that big...it might require the use of a gas washer with a much higher PSI rating.
Nice job on the content, Al!

Do you happen to know why they make two different types, one for gas and one for electric? I see that in your video that you can clearly use one for the other but still wonder why Ryobi says gas surface cleaner should only be used with gas pressure washer.

    • @ALinsdau
      @ALinsdau  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

If I could've gotten the one for electric at the time, I would have. Electric pressure washers don't have nearly the pressure of gas ones. Gas is vastly more powerful for most stuff like this.
