      Code requires a specified size egress window or door per sleeping or habitable room….he has multiple for that tiny space….just not the windows.
      There are apartments shared by 2 humans, in big cities with far less sq.ft., & less utilities (bathroom shared down hall, off-site laundry, etc).…renting for King’s ransoms + their 1st-born child.
      Guessing those places got Code variances?? 🤔
      And, he had a crew of people who knew what they were doing with the services-kinda looked like they may have actually made the services better…

    This is a fantastic idea for james specifically with all his mental health issues. But the only thing i think about is that the staff should maybe also have something similar, a relax room with comforts to help them unwind during their breaks etc. at work. Imagine this but a little bit more communal, like how Linus has his games room and cinema room etc. I love this approach to stimulating the brain while at work to allow stress levels to fizzle down for an hour or 2 during the work day before cracking on. We have all seen the studies that a happy worker is a productive worker.

      H.I. is in canada so zoning laws are different from the US

    • @patchvonbraun
      @patchvonbraun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am also in Canada, een in the same province as Hacksmith. Which is why I felt even vaguely qualified to comment. Zoning is a "local" issue --usually defined by the township or county or other municipal unit, with guidelines provided by the Province. Ontario started getting more assertive over municipal planning committees (and by inference, building inspectors) about 20 years ago. Which means that zoning rules are fairly uniform across the province, even when they make no sense at all. Because, you know, reasons.

    • @xymorm
      @xymorm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patchvonbraun zoning laws just don’t make sense no matter where you are

    • @patchvonbraun
      @patchvonbraun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure I can completely agree with that. I'm perfectly happy that zoning laws prevent the construction of steel mill in the middle of a residential area, for example. What doesn't make sense to me is that zoning laws imposed from "above" (above municipal level) very-often fail to recognize local circumstances. For example, throughout Ontario now, cannot have "livestock" on land of ANY size unless it is explicitly zoned agricultural. So, you can end up buying a multi-hectare property way outside of town, zoned "Rural Residential", and you still can't have a horse. Good luck getting your land re-zoned agricultural.
