Trivia The character Franklin in the movie really got on the nerves of the other actors also Marilyn Burns who played Sally really had cuts and scratches from the thorn bushes and when they cut her finger the stunt did not work so she really got her finger cut the entire dinner scene was shot during the day and the windows were covered it was extremely hot in Texas so this was a vey hard movie to film also none of the actors were compensated like they should have been this is a true Classic.
I think all the psychotic ones were related as brothers of varying ages, and that the dead mother (and "pet" dead pig) were their mother and father (father barely being alive). Poor Sally, I think she would have had to spend time in a psychiatric hospital after what she went through. I understand the making of this film was very difficult on the actors. It was not an easy "acting job." And it was done on a "shoestring" budget.
All things considered, there's very little gore. It was a deliberate choice. Director Tobe Hooper was actually hoping to get a PG rating! Pam jumping up out of the freezer was her in her death throes... her body was convulsing -- she couldn't have survived. Thanks for your reaction/commentary -- it was a pleasure to hear a relatively calm reaction to this movie for a change!
A classic!

It's a arm chair literally
I just saw this for the first time recently. So glad to rewatch it with your brilliant reactions and review.
Fun reaction, Will! The story is inspired by the crimes of Ed Gein.
Thanks, Will! 😱
They mention "Muerto County" in the beginning of the movie, which I think is made up (no such county in Texas) - "muerto" means "dead" in Spanish 💀

The original script actually was a lot more violent and grisly with descriptions of flayed corpses and dead dogs.
More a commentary than a reaction.
