      We do not recommend to use aerosol for full body applications as the surface is too large to evenly apply. We don't have full body kits yet. We're working on Gallons for a Full Body version as you might have seen on our Facebook and Instagram page.

    Going to be doing my jeep rims. Currently they have plasti-dip on them. Would you recommend removing the plasti-dip first, or just right over top after thoroughly removing dirt and grim

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you need to remove Plastidip before applying Superwrap since it's a rubber surface and isn't compatible with our products.

    If after you sprayed the high gloss clear and decide matte finish would be nicer, can you spray frozen matte top coat over the gloss clear?

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can spray the Frozen Matte Top coat over the High Gloss Clear. However, you cannot apply the High Gloss Clear over the Frozen Matte Top Coat since it's a finition coat there is a chemical incompatibility whereas the top coat's solvents cannot evaporate when vinyl is applied over it which can compromise product peelability and end result.

    Thanks for the helpful videos. I want to also do the insides of my wheels, how much extra should I buy? They are 18x9.5s. they are silver all the way through, and I don't think a gloss charcoal would look good with the inside still silver.

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our kits are calculated to cover the faces of the wheels only.
      We do not recommend spraying the inner barrel of the wheels since there’s less durability due to lack of adherence. The inner barrel is an area of the wheel that is highly contaminated by the greases, brake dust and other contaminants. Even with an exhaustive wash, they might have some residues left which will compromise the adhesion of the product to your barrel.

    Is it safe for the lug nut area? When i used plastidip and went to torque my lug nuts, the torque ripped off the dip.

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We recommend waiting for 6-12h for the product to dry before remounting the wheels. This will make sure the product won't peel once you're reinstalling the wheels, lug nuts, etc. Make sure not to use impact gun that is too large to avoid touching/damaging the edges around the bolt.

      As long as they are non-abrasive or non-acidic cleaners, they shouldn't damage the finish. We do have our Superwrap Wheel cleaner, which you can get here: getsuperwrap.com/product/wheel-cleaner/

    How does it hold up when removing an old and remounting a new tire? I would guess it's almost impossible to do without damaging the vinyl and a repair would be too obvious.

    • @SuperwrapOfficial

      Most tire changing machines require direct, rotational contact with the sprayed wheels which will cause lifting of the spray wrap. Lifting may be avoided with careful mounting of the tires and by using a touchless tire mounting machine.

      Our RTS Quarts are available on our website (getsuperwrap.com/shop/filters/series:[196]), however, please note that a few colors are currently out of stock.
      Our RTS Quarts are meant to be sprayed on single panels such as hood, roof and trunk. That being said, we currently do not offer technical support on full body applications with the RTS line because we are in application testing for complete vehicle. It's a project that can be taken on by advanced DIY'ers and professionals with the understanding that Superwrap makes no guarantee in regards to finish quality and durability.
      If you still want to move forward with a full body application, we can help you out with the required quantities in order to do a proper application. Simply contact our support team at info@getsuperwrap.com .

      We have base coat recommendations specific to every color and finish, to make your experience of spraying Superwrap DIY aerosols easier, and for the colors to come out as advertised. A base coat is also required for proper removability. Even if your surface is already black, grey or white, we recommend laying down a Base Coat first.

    Hi is it ok to spray Superwrap on plastic trim and it will not damage it when you remove it.

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If clearcoted or chromed trims, yes it is ok.
      Superwrap is formulated to be applied to OEM clearcoated surfaces or metal surfaces. We do not recommend applying Superwrap to plastic surfaces since they might be an incompatibility with the solvents in the product.
      For chromed surfaces, simply make sure to completely strip the waxes and polishes commonly used to protect your chromed wheels or accessories using our Prep Spray.
      If any wax or polish is left over on the surface, you will have adherence issues. These products are contaminants that can create fish eyes, adherence issues and other surface imperfections.

    is it same as plasti dip?
    will it peel off when u change tires?

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although we share some characteristics with other peelable products, we are quite different. Plastidip is a rubber based product while Superwrap is a vinyl based product. Being vinyl based enables us to offer paint-like, high gloss, smooth finishes straight out of the can and gun. Superwrap uses premium Automotive pigments and is also a self-levelling product with high UV and chemical resistance.
      Rubber based companies can’t achieve a single step high gloss finish out of a can the way ours does.
      You can check out this video to see the difference between our Gloss Black versus a rubber brand Gloss Black: th-cam.com/video/tTTj0SS6GgA/w-d-xo.html
      Most tire changing machines require direct, rotational contact with the sprayed wheels which will cause lifting of the spray wrap. Lifting may be avoided with careful mounting of the tires and by using a touchless tire mounting machine.
      If you do not have Superwrap on your wheels yet, we do recommend spraying your wheels after the tire changed.

    Can you use this on chrome bumpers?

    • @SuperwrapOfficial
      @SuperwrapOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We typically do not recommend spraying bumpers due to the fact that most are actually most are made of plastic, however, chrome bumpers shouldn’t be an issue. We prefer being transparent and telling you this is not something we ourselves have tested, but again we see no issue with chrome steel bumpers. With these types of situations, we suggest testing on an inconspicuous area. When spraying bumpers that are mounted on the vehicle, use extra caution as vertical surfaces are prone to drips or sags.

    • @SuperwrapOfficial

    Am I right to assume that a base coat is not required for black gloss spray?

    • @SuperwrapOfficial

      Gloss Black acts as a base and color. So, in general, wheels up to 17" require 4 cans of Gloss Black.
      18-19" wheels require 6 cans of Gloss Black.
      20-22" wheels require 7 cans of Gloss Black.

      Applying Superwrap with the wheels off the car and laying flat makes installation much easier and gives a professional looking finish. As you see in the video, we're spraying at an angle to make sure we hit every inch of the wheels. Also, Our products are self-leveling, so applying it flat makes the finish dry evenly and avoids drips and sags.
      As written on our website and on the can, it's important to spray in a well-ventilated area, or wear respiratory protection equipment if you're in an enclosed space.

    That is an awful lot of painting. It would take forever to do a whole car. I would just go with regular rap and be done in 10 minutes.
