    As an Alaskan vinyl wrapper I can help shed some light on wrap longevity. Or rather the lack of. The problem with vinyl in heavy snow is that it doesn’t like the cold very much. Once exposed to temperatures well below zero vinyl shows it’s pvc nature and becomes brittle. Once it becomes brittle it’s pretty easy to tear/chip and that’s where the real issues come in. If you can keep it intact the wrap will last, but once the snow can get up under those chips the wrap is going to look like trash and you’re just going to pull it off. As long as you can keep the wrap solid you shouldn’t have issues though

    • @marc_svsengineering4319
      @marc_svsengineering4319 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I live in Alaska. so far, I have done several colors (mostly matts) and I get all my wraps from Vvivid Vinyls. I haven't tried any PPF since most of them require applying wet. I have one car that's in ghost blue that's been on for about 7 years and gets driven all year around. I am just now starting to see some signs of lifting/air trapped in crease/channels. I count myself pretty lucky for how long its lasted, but I am wondering if it's a brand related issue. I just use normal car soap that's vinyl friendly. Just asking since you have experience up here

Well ima choose the cheapest if its all the same to you, but it shouldnt be techwrap/inozetek is calendared garbage that fades after a year as far as i can research.

      By little. Started with hood trunk and roof and worked my way to the sides. Once you get the hang of how wrap works it’s not too bad but there is definitely a learning curve.

    I might not have seen your video on this, but how do you deal with door jams, trunk areas, and engine bays? Especially in total color changes?
    I have heard that a reliable shop will schedule a return appt. at 6 to 8 weeks. They will look closely at any issues and repair/ replace problems. It's still way cheaper than a comparable paint job.

    I was thinking you can create training packages for wrappers to come to you and train for 3-5 days. Charge 2500 bucks. 6-10 trainees at one shot. You create your certification program and have a website of your graduates online that you could create a membership for. Charge a yearly membership to your graduates. This membership would include leads from their area. So you would promote these websites and create leads around the country. Charge a yearly fee and also a per lead fee. So it would be Paradox the Wrapper Network.
    Your looking at around an average of 20,000 grand per week in earnings possible.

    Dude.... you are so in the details. I wrapped my car and it came out really good. I did notice that a lot of the TH-cam wrappers DONT show the difficult stuff. They like to show hood, roof and doors... So funny.
    Keep it real bro.
    For those that wondered. I did my Lexus IS 250C in ViVVid with 45' x 5' my first and second time, no mistakes. I did not wrap the roof or the pillars. You can extrapolate your cost using my measurements.

    • @jovtecxtv1321

      $3,500 is a complete rip off. I'd suggest to just buy the material which is actually very cheap since it's just black ($500-$600). Do it yourself by investing about $100 more for materials. You'll save thousands trust me. Vinyl wrappers will charge you $800-$900 for a $500-$600 film. Labor will be something ridiculous like $1,000.

    Any wrap over 2k is for suckers, wraps are for a couple years IF you take care of them and depending on where you live. Painting your car is 3k starting to 7k if a not a dump truck and last decades. Can’t believe people don’t know better and pay that much for wraps.
