I believe EVY was chosen for the position she had in the Secret Service because of her personality was that, she wasn’t looking for power, she wasn’t trying to outshine everybody else, she didn’t want it. What better person to have it.

Yes she definitely has shown that she admires or looks up to in awe to people who appear to have strength and confidence. For me, it's not necessarily confidence that I am seeing displayed with this guest. What I see is someone who is convinced or confident in what it is that she's saying. She's confident in the information that she's providing. I wouldn't suggest reading so much into someone's personality based upon one interview.

Evy's ethos of mental armour has helped me to get out of a toxic working relationship and think of what is my intention rather than fall at the insults. I've live up to my aim without her power hungry behaviour throwing me off. Cos I wont be part of that game and do whatever to protect myself (my own president). I've had to be my own protector too. And I love the resilience and learning about it. Also love when Evy said she wanted to get into the force had had to go for what she wanted cos she has to live with thr decision everyone else will eventually come around like parents. And better to not have regrets. That really empowered me to close my heart to a bad job. But I'm hopefully now I will find better x

20:15 Gut instinct, being able to read a room and non-verbal cues/micro expressions in the first 10-20 seconds is a great predictor of overall behavior & mannerisms. I love Evy's advice on: feel the energy in the room, pay attention and don't call a person out just read the cues.

And when they talk, don't interrupt. Give them plenty of slack like with a fishing pole when you hook a fish. Because for whatever reason, people love talking and telling on themselves thinking it will impress you how they broke the law. Or did something wrong (and didn't get caught). People rarely brag about "doing something right". ("I've been a devoted husband for 5 years". (boring) Instead it's: "I went to this bachelor party in Vegas and whoa boy! Luckily my wife never found out. Shhh.") 99% of all crimes not on video tape are figured out because someone "talked". The truth always comes out. It's whether you happen to be there or not when it happens. People love telling about the things they have done wrong in the world. So let them. And you my good friend, keep them lips buttoned up! lol

So much truth, even just about halfway through it. Politicians do that thing where they don't answer the question but speechify for a few minutes about distantly related accomplishments they want accolades for. And I love the advice to just pull out of the relationship without announcing it and without calling out the person. No need for that drama. Just go on and be happy. You don't owe them that, and they don't owe you whatever satisfaction you would get from calling them out.

Now this is a pure example of two, strong, intelligent, charismatic LEADERS who would make an incredible United States Presidential ticket for the next eight years! I wouldn't blame you for having no personal interest in that thought! LOL! Thank you so much for your brutal honesty and incredible way of teaching us some very important life lessons and invaluable interpersonal tips. Wishing you both joy and continued success in your life journeys. Love, JR

Evy is remarkably thoughtful, which I hadn’t expected given the little bit of backstory I’d read before listening to this and this first time I’m encountering her work. Remarkable because there are many larger truths and lessons we can glean from our everyday lives, but it’s so focus intensive and mental vigor to get those from our everyday lives, especially because it’s easy to rest on the initial or heuristic way we manage the normal. Evy is, to me, sort of heroic in the discipline she has in keeping herself open to radical shifts in perception, in noticing what others don’t and what others won’t. Lies are motivated deceptions, and that motivation is secondary to any revelation or detection of deception. Evy can see all of that at once, which is extraordinary but also deeply invested, kind even. Great episode

I haven't heard or seen Mel interview before and I'm just as impressed with her. She said she was exhausted, but but...wow! She was SO present! It's amazing to watch someone that is that skilled at what they do, so in her element! She contributed just as much to the conversation as Evy. This was an amazing interview on both sides. Thanks! Very inspiring.

I found out about Evy just several days ago and I enjoy listening to her in all the video interviews I could find with her as the guest. She is so consistent and she narrates very well. This was also made possible by having good interviewers like Mel. I always feel that Evy is verbalizing everything in my mind. Often, I feel that she is me.😊 Thanks for this .

Incredibly strong, intelligent, brave and gutsy woman. I have the upmost respect for her 🙏❤️

I totally pick up on the charmer.over the top sweet and superficial behaviour.
I'm dealing with a female covert narcissist.
I was immediately uncomfortable and on my guard.
Instinct that she is false and has bad intentions and refuses to respect boundaries.
    Instinctively limited contact.
So much information gained by listening to this
    Talk less,listen and watch more.

A comment about talking with someone with substance abuse. Remember, this is someone dealing with deep hurt & incredible pain. Yes, their behavior may be causing those around them pain & trouble as well, but they are truly not doing it intentionally, even though it might seem like it. They are suffering & the substance seems like their only coping mechanism. Maybe go into a conversation with them with compassion, willing to listen, learn & to truly hear what they are feeling. They may not share the 1st or 2nd or 100th time around, but it may eventually get through to them that you honestly care. That may go way further than reaching out in an attempt to get them help that they may or may not want. Listen with compassion. They are hurting so deeply. 💔

Thank you for sharing this conversation. I loved every bit of this. Listening to Evy's words about steadiness in behavior, speech, and emotion resonated with me deeply. We create our own path and learn every step of the way, and confidence is earned by taking the road less traveled. Remembering that you are 50% of the equation in any interaction reminds me of the saying "you attract more bees with honey instead of vinegar." Thank you both for this enlightening video.
