    www.revzilla.co...
    The Sidi Crossfire 2 Boots are the next generation of the popular Sidi Crossfire, top-of-the-food-chain, motocross boots from Sidi. The Sidi Crossfire 2 have been updated in several areas to improve upon what was already a bomb proof boot. The toe box has been redesigned with a new TPU full covered exterior that eliminates a valley where debris can get caught and increases the room around the toes. The heel counter has been beefed up to make kick-shifts easier out of the start gate and gives better support. The new buckles are smaller in profile and easier to operate with gloved hands. The shin plate and calf area have been expanded with additional areas of adjustment that can now accommodate up to a 22"" calf and can work with a knee brace. The base material is now Sidi's own Technomicro material that is lightweight and breathable. The Crossfire 2 will come in 2 flavors, SRS (Sole Replacement System) or TA (Traditional Application) options, depending on what best suits the rider. Both versions will come in a wide range of color options and are offered in sizes 40-50.

    There are 2 sets of internal screws on the inside of the shin guard. You would need to swap all 6 screws in order to accommodate a 22" calf, as adjusting the external buckles alone will not accommodate a 22" calf. Sidi did internal testing to ensure the size of the boots. It might be worth reaching out to Sidi directly if you made all the adjustments when you tired them on. ~ali

    Yet again another excellent video breakdown. Thank you for stating the calf circumference size! Almost a 100% guarantee I will be ordering these.

    Haha, yes they are just about as beefy and technical as a ski boot (without the waterproofing part). They are pretty impressive once you start taking a closer look at them. And agreed, the grey / yellow version is awesome. ~Ali

    These boots are not designed for use on rear sets. There isn't enough flex at the ankle to get your foot on your controls. The TA sole does provide more feel, but I still would not recommend for anything other than hard-core dirt riding in an upright position. If you like that style and want a flexible boot for more sport-like riding, check out the Firstgear Kathmandu WP that are flexible. ~Ali

    I prefer the Crossfire 2 for any sort of competition scenario. They've historically performed very well for race-grade riding. -CK

  • @RevZilla
    @RevZilla  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Gaerne SG12 is a great compromise between flexibility and protection, however, I would still consider the Sidi Crossfire 2 to be the highest quality and most protective of the bunch. -CK

  • @RevZilla
    @RevZilla  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No. The upper is constructed of TechnoMicro. In the past, Sidi used Lorica in the Crossfire, which is also a synthetic leather, but found the quality varied too much. Sidi helped develop their own proprietary brand of synthetic leather called TechnoMicro that you will find in more Sidi boots moving forward. ~Ali

    Gaerne boots tend to suit dual-sport and enduro riders a bit better, while I consider Sidi to be more competitive in nature. Sizing is a bit different between the two, with Sidi fitting wider in their off-road boot line. -CK

    The big difference between those two are the replaceable soles on the Sidi Crossfire SRS. In addition, just about every other part on the Crossfire is removable and replaceable. While the protection is comparable between the two, I think SIDI designs a better boot. -CK

    I've been trying to watch every video I can on boots (Getting back into MX riding after a 10 year hiatus). I love the honesty in this comment section, it's a breath of fresh air! I feel like usually everything on the internet needs to be taken with a grain of salt, cudos to Revzilla! You have my business coming your way! I'm looking between tech 10s, SG12's, crossfire 2's, or instinct... and now they announced the crossfire 3's!!! What do you guys think? Thanks a ton in advance!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're definitely excited about the Crossfire 3s, but we'll need time to evaluate them. If you have the money to spend, they're all really safe, pro-level boots. If you're just a casual rider though, and don't need all the bells and whistles, you could easily save some money by going with the next tier down of boots. -DrewZilla

    The Sidi Crossfire 2 TA Boots are real leather. Ali here said here that you can't replace the soles on TA's. But, Sidi say's you can get a cobbler to replace the soles on the them.

    Wouldn't be the best pairing, in my opinion. The Merlin will go over many boots, but a true off road boot is probably too much to ask. -CK

    Hi, thanks for all your reviews. Comparison wise, which boots have the best protection from twisting and resist movement during crashes?
    I just broke my ankle and will be out of racing for 6 weeks because of this. I made the mistake of wearing a $100 pair of boots. Now, money is not a factor. Thanks.

    since sidi is vented, it means that they leak where they are vented? or am I wrong?

  • @compprufus
    @compprufus 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, I have figured. Still it doesn't make any sense. If people want to spend that money, they'are probably willing to pay even more, thus there is a market for that option. Anyway, what can I do about it right? :D

    This reviews have helped me a lot, a ton of useful information. Thanks guys. I'm now ready to purchase my sidi cf2 srs but I'm a little unsure about fitment. I typically wear size 43 44 euro shoes and 9.5 US. I've read that sidi boots run smaller, should I order according to my regular shoe size which is 44 ? Or should I go a size higher ??

    • @RevZilla

    How do these boots work for trail riding? Not enduro just shorter trails. Also are they comfortable in higher temperatures? I live on the east coast of Australia so it can get pretty hot.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Splitface2811 They're good for enduro as well as shorter trails, especially if you want protection without sacrificing flexibility. As for the heat, you might get a bit warm, so we recommend wearing good quality wicking socks. Merino wool and polyester are good. Avoid cotton. -DrewZilla

    Hi Revzilla, So it looks like Sidi aren't going to make the Crossfire 3 in a size 48 which fits me best in Sidi boots. Although I heard the Crossfire 3 may be a bit wider than the 2, size for size, any truth in that? Also if I can't get into a 3, does the 2 offer the same level of ankle protection as the 3 despite not having the new Hyper-extension block? Thanks heaps!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Crossfire 3s may be ever so slightly wider than the 2s, but it isn't a huge difference. As for ankle protection, the 3s are just a slight refinement over the 2s. The Crossfire 2s are still among the most protective boots available, so I would feel confident sticking with the 2s. I find that the Crossfire 2 TA Boots do fit a bit wider than the SRS version. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

      Yep a great help as always, thanks! One last question. How do the TCX Comp Evo Michelin and the Forma Predator Enduro compare to the Crossfire 2 and 3 in terms of ankle protection? Heard those 2 are wider than the Crossfires.

    Whats the difference between crossfire 1,2, and 3?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're the iterations of the boots. The Crossfire 2 Boots introduced an adjustable calf system and some minor hard part updates. The Crossfire 3 Boots now have an improved fit over the Crossfire 2s as well as a simpler sole replacement system. -DrewZilla

    Crossfire 2 stay away from them. They cost me £303 and they don't even keep your feet dry in a light shower commuting to work with waterproofs over the top of the boots. Soon I'm going to do a video of me angle grinder them in half because they're not worth a penny

      You're right. To answer your question, they are not waterproof. This is also the case for almost all other off-road/motocross boots. For waterproofing, please consider looking at ADV boots like the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots or Alpinestars Toucan Gore-Tex Boots. -DrewZilla
