What an amazing interpretation of a killer song! What should I check out next from Postmodern Jukebox?!
Haley's been singing on stage with her parents since she was a toddler. Massively talented.
And it shows! Phenomenal!!! 😳
The power, the range, the look. One moment her voice is oil on glass, then smoke, then an animal growl. The kind of voice that makes you the only person in the room.
Dang. Your analogies are spot on. "Oil on glass".... that's brilliant!
Scott Bradlee (on the piano) is the mastermind behind PMJ - his arrangements are amazing. But Haley owns this song: her range, versatility, and absolute mastery of her instrument is stunning. The band does their thing too. Truly an amazing performance.
Absolutely loved it! Amazing voice and the band was on 🔥
Check out PMJ's "Mad World" with Haley and Puddles Pity Party.
Check out PMJ Dream On Aerosmith cover featuring Morgan James it will blow you away as well!
This is what the music of the 1940's sounded like.
Amazing! ❤️
I saw Haley a few years ago and she sounds great "live" also... have become a forever fan!!! I have a picture down on one knee proposing...She was so fun and played along. That pic is now framed with her signed concert poster. She is so kind and fun, as well as beautiful and talented.
Haha 😂 That’s great! It’s always awesome when people who are so talented, also have a sense of humor!
Haley just creating 15 of the 12 vocal techniques known to humans.... pretty sure she just made some inhuman techs lol. wow
Postmodern Jukebox + Hayley - Seven Nation Army!
Thanks so much for the suggestion and swinging by the channel! Have a great one!
I'VE SEEN HUNDREDS OF REACTIONS TO HALEY ASD AS USUAL IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST NOTE, FOR YOU, ME AND OTHERS.
I don’t know how you couldn’t love them, and her vocal performance is insane! Thanks for hanging out!
Check out their version of Gangsta’s Paradise
Oh I bet that’s 🔥🔥
@@setonhillstudios you’ll love it
Hailey can SANG 👍
Absolutely!!! Unreal! 🔥
You didn't have to say a word. Your face told your story! GREAT reaction!! I personally think this specific performance by her and PMJ is one of the top 5 best solo performances I have ever seen. Any genre, any style, any time. Just incredible!
Glad you enjoyed it! This performance absolutely blew my mind! So amazing!

*Habits - Vintage 1930's Jazz Tove Lo Cover ft. Haley Reinhart*
,
You should check her out playing with her dad at Chess Records performing Can’t Find My Way Home!
Oh sweet! Thanks for the recommendation! Definitely have to check that out!
@@setonhillstudiosalso, in the same video, she sings an original song “Don’t Know How To Love You”.
Both songs showcase Haley’s jazz/blues/soul prowess.

Wow, I haven't heard them in a while! Thanks for covering them.😊
Thanks for watching! I absolutely loved this performance! So good!
Seven Nation Army! is a must ,,,,,
Thanks for the suggestion! 😄
3:15 - You were "only" 30 to 40 years off in your assessment of the era of this type of music. 😄
Haha 😂 Guess it’s a good thing I ain’t guessing someone’s age at the state fair!
Subbed. As good as this performance is, and it's well above masterful, her version of Seven Nation Army with PMJ is at least as good. I can also recommend Pau's (from The Warning) version of Creep; it's just her and a piano, and it'll pull your soul out of your body.
Great reaction! You need to checkout their cover of All About That Bass! It’s fabulous as well!
I bet that’s a fun one! Thanks so much!
Dream on is amazing
That’s what I hear! Thanks for the recommendation! 😁
With these guys and Haley....gotta hear Seven Nation Army....also Black Hole Sun.......Dont Speak......and All About That Bass!!!!! all fantastic
So many bangers out there to get to! Appreciate the recommendations!
Dream on Morgan James for PMJ, CRAZY❤❤❤
Appreciate the suggestion! Definitely have to check out more from them!
"Vintage throwback style" - you are correct, sir!
Postmodern Jukebox covers everything that way. The wealth of material they have is truly massive. You can NOT go wrong if you want to hear REAL TALENT! There are a lot of songs, i don't even care for the original version. But I am totally moved by their covers. Personal favorites include "Don't Speak" (No Doubt cover) and "Genie in a Bottle"
I don’t know how your reaction escaped my filter. I usually catch reactions to Haley’s videos within an hour of posting.
Great reaction BTW.
Haley at Chess Records in Chicago, with just her dad on acoustic guitar is a must. It showcases her raw talent interpreting blues/jazz/soul music.
Well glad you found it! Absolutely loved this performance and her voice is incredible! Can’t wait to hear more from her! 😄

I have watched this reaction for 3 years, 99.99% of the reactors have liked it...A lot !! Haley Reinhart and Morgan James were their best,, But they have moved on now.. The singers who came later are just OK.. Anything with these two is great.. Singing coaches use this song to teach the many ways a voice can be used.. Haley does it all.. PMJ often hides its drummer behind the performer..lol Dream On with Morgan James by PMJ is wonderful.. All About That Bass is great, especially if you know the original.. Singing is Haley, Morgan James, and Arianna Savalez..Another super good one by Haley is "Don't Speak" ..A No Doubt Cover...Haley is a show to watch, she plays with the music as she goes..
Check out their cover of Dream On with Morgan James.
Oh snap! Definitely have to check that out! Appreciate it!
A very enjoyable reaction, your stank face is epic! Subbed for more PMJ / Haley, both parties are great on their own (gonna see PMJ live here in Kempten in September, never saw Haley live but one day I will!) - together they are a match made in heaven and take music covers to a completely different level. I'm looking forward to your next one, modest suggestion: PMJ x Haley "Seven Nation Army"... Peace and love from Bavaria!
Shewee! Stank face engaged on this one for sure! She is unreal and I loved the reinterpretation of an already great song! Thanks for the sub!
You'll improve your search results if you add "Haley Reinhart" to the title. I believe I saw this video a couple of days ago when I was clicking something else. I went back, but it was no longer there. And when I searched for Haley's name and sorted by "most recent" it wasn't there. I'm here now because YT once again presented it (no doubt knowing my past viewing habits).
Appreciate that! Thanks for the info!
Thanks for doing this for us ! Been waiting for it 😁
Absolutely loved it! Such a great performance!
The whole “Postmodern Jukebox” Library is flawless. They take any song and bring it to a different level. Numerous lead vocalists throughout the band! Just phenomenal!
This was 🔥 and I can’t wait to hear more from them! I love what they did with this tune! 🎶
ChecK these guys out featuring Haley again doing a great cover of DON'T SPEAK. you will not be sorry
Oh snap! I bet that’s awesome! Appreciate it and can’t wait to hear it!
Haley has an amazing voice. She placed 3rd in the 10th season of American Idol. 👍❤️🙂
Such a killer voice and an amazing performer! Can’t wait to check out more from her and the entire band!
Some other of her songs with PMJ include Seven National Army, Don’t Speak, and Oops, I Did It Again.
@@df5199 I definitely have to dig into some more from them!
She is fabulous, PMJ is always good, and this is one of the best covers of all time.
This was absolutely phenomenal! Thanks for hanging out! 😄
The guy on the piano is the brains of PMJ.
Such an amazing arrangement and execution! Loved it!
Great reaction love pmj style
Such a great reiteration of the original! Loved it! ❤️
7 Nation Army- PMJ/Haley. Mix 1 part Ella Fitzgerald, 1 part Billie Holliday, 1 Part Jessica Rabbitt. 1930 New Orleans style...Mm Hmmph! Ya GOTTA go there next! :) Love seeing others discover my fave 5'2" ball of fire.
Check out Postmodern doing Michael Jackson’s Thriller with Wayne Brady here th-cam.com/video/td-_pUPVjdo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ksW_f19CFtyJxxL1
Oh wow! Definitely have to check this out! Thanks for the link! 😄
Subscribing in hopes you review more Haley Reinhart videos with PMJ and her own songs. She may be the best singer of our generation. Drops mic.
Definitely more to come! She absolutely blew me away! Thanks for the sub and hanging out! 😄
@@setonhillstudios Great. You will go down a rabbit hole, believe me. I added your reaction to my channel--I have 500 or so reactions to Haley. She is just amazing and reactions to her are usually stunned, speechless.
Best in several generations, I think- and I like a ton of GREAT artists. Then, there's Haley. ;)
The piano player (Scott Bradlee) does the arrangements. They take modern music of just about every genre & give the music anywhere from a 1920s to 1960s treatment. It's not always the same decade. The musicians & singers rotate out depending on the song they're doing. But yeah, every suggestion I've seen in the comments, I'd second. Or just go to their channel & browse. It's fun to find a song you already love & see how they handled it (it's always good).
I definitely have to check out more from them! This was incredible and I can’t wait to hear more! Appreciate the info!
Preemptive gob off on this one.... Your jaw will be on the floor love x
No disrespect to the original but Haley raised the bar to ceiling on this one
@@mikevandenboom5958 This was definitely an amazing reinterpretation of the original! Absolutely loved it! ❤️
Oh yeah. One take, she was jetlagged and sick, and they just finished a show when this was recorded.
She killed it regardless! Amazing! 🔥
She'd join their European tour about a week earlier, she was feeling a bit like protecting her voice (especially after recording all about the bass earlier in the day)
But it was a day off from the tour, completed in one take as Scott convinced her to do it once
She wasn't sure if it had been any good, but Scott told her that it was perfect
She also has her own career outside of PMJ. She placed well on American Idol, and personally, I think she she was robbed. Lol
I don’t see how anyone beat her! Incredible voice!
@@setonhillstudios Haley actually finished in the bottom three a near record niumber of times. The show gave her no backstory. Early on Randy Jackson suggested she didn't know who she was as an artist because she demonstrated versatlity. In the later rounds, when the contestants would peform two songs, two of the judges would criticize her first performance for something like song choice or saying someone had set the bar earlier to suggest Haley had given a bad performance when she had not. In this way, they painted her as inconsistent. Many viewers had the impression she couldn't sing and they resented her being an attractive woman who remained confident in the face of the judges' criticism. They wanted to see Haley not just eliminated, but crushed.
Top 4 night, everything came to an explosive peak when judge Steven Tyler told Haley to not listen to the other two judges. In an online interview with Ryan Seacrest that night, ST declared Randy wasn't a singer. That Haley had delivered the first song like a blue plate special, and their constant throwing Haley under the bus had pissed him off: He then observed, "The best singers have character. If you watch Reinhart up there, every bad comment she gets rolls right off. That's how good she is." Haley survived that night and advanced to the final three. She finished behind two young teens (M & F) who are country music singers.
You need to listen to the Scala & Kolacny Brothers version of this.
Appreciate the recommendation and thanks for swinging by the channel!
Haley Reinhart is amazing! I've lost many hours of sleep after I first saw her. 😂
Such an amazing vocalist!
Not PMJ, but both have done PMJ. Hailey R & Morgan James doing acoustic Dear Prudence sitting on a couch. Good ness! Incredible vocals.
If you wanted to experience a little more scat singing then I'd highly suggest checking out Scatman by Scatman John, a really interesting singer who used scat singing to help him overcome a crippling stutter...
Oh wow! Appreciate the recommendation! Super interesting and cool story!
PMJ and Haley transformed a classic Rock song into a fantastic Jazz song. Both great but I prefer the Jazz version. It is only a matter of opinion depending on your personal taste. Good reaction friend.
Really appreciate it! Enjoyed this so much and loved their interpretation of the original! They truly made it their own! Incredible!
You might not know, but the nonsense singing at 6.19 is called ..Scatting, All the great Jazz singers did it in the 30s to 50s..Very difficult to do musically
Appreciate the info! Definitely sounded challenging for sure!
She has some other videos where she is just totally off the chain and geared up even better than this one. More Haley Reinhart pleeeeeease
More to come! I absolutely loved this performance and can’t wait to hear more!
