Thanks. And the BBvideo should be ready soon. It is my favorite of the AC, RC and BB pedals - the one I have used the most though the others are great too. Different flavors of boost and killer overdrive. Cheers
What’s really amazing is that you cover so many styles. I really like your laidback breezing style,,, and tone :o) I just saw an interview with the all fantastic George Benson, and to quote “a great player is someone who communicate” that’s you Simon.
@@SimonGotthelfMusic Great demo! Great playing! Does the AC Booster simulate the Vox AC 30? What do you like more AC Booster or AC Tone by Carl Martin? Is there anything in common between them?
@@Vikkk1978 Thank you. ACBooster is not really like an AC30 Amp. The ACtone by Carl Martin is. The AC Booster is a great overdrive in front of most amps but the AC Tone is more like an amp in a box. Both are great though. Cheers
@@SimonGotthelfMusic It's clear. Thank you. There are different interpretations of the names of boosters from Xotic. One of them is like this. AC Booster - Vox AC30, BB Preamp - Marshall Bluesbreaker. And I see in your demos that you tested these boosters with these amplifiers)))
@@Vikkk1978 definetly I have seen that many times but I personally don’t think this pedal sounds like the AC30 amp. I know I play through a vintage AC30 in this video. The BB is closer to a real bluesbreaker but again not really… though I have never tested the Bb up against the bluesbreaker amp. It has been many years since I have had a bluesbreaker amp in my studio. I sold it because it was insanely loud 😃 the BB is my favorite of the bunch for warm low gain tones btw but not really bluesbreaker tones
Having played thru (2) real Dumbles, for recording, This is the SOUND.!!! Maybe its the players. Xotic stuff hits the tone out the ballpark, if Dumble, cranked Fender tone is what you are looking for... Peace......
Thank you :) You can see my mic placement in the beginning of the video. I use a Royer R-121 an inch off center and then I add a shure sm-57 off axis pointing where the paper meets the dome. This is my usual starting point and then I go from there. If I am recording totally clean sound I might go a little closer to center with the sm57. Cheers
Thanks for your reply Simon. On TGP forum, you said on the Celestion Ir's topic that the 2x12 Blue Ir pack sounds like your old Vox. Could you tell us which IR's you're using to sound like your "old Vox"? Thank you !
Vivz The "Blue" IR does have the sound of this ´64 VOX that I just love. However to be honest I have not tried this excact Vox amp with the IR because it is all original and the speakers are hardwired in the amp and I don´t want to change anything. But the sound of the IR is really so close and I have tried the 2x12 Blue IR with a "new" Vox with speaker out and the Suhr Reactive Load. It sounded great and very "vox-ish". Cheers
Simon, great great demo, as always, I like them all. I have a question, do you find the BB preamp being an extension of AC booster (BB is the same as AC but with more gain) or is it a completely different animal? Thanks in advance, cheers!
Hi and thank you :) The BB is different. More compressed and different mids. I really like the AC but I actually prefer the BB because I find it sweeter sounding. AC is awesome too. Cheers
Great playing and pedal
Synes stadig RC-boosteren er den bedste af de tre i den serie.
Oh man, that playing... Nice demo as always, Simon!
Thanks Henrik, I appreciate it very much
Like your demos!!!!!! Every time ewesome tone, playing and phrase... Great job
Alexander Rostovtsev Thank you very much Alexander :)
Looking for a petal to stack with my Soul Driven , the AC might work well 😊
great playing , I love this brand, I have Rc next is the SP
You make that AC booster sing, man! Can't wait to see how you use the BB Preamp! Great playing!
