Stealthy Sight Casting REDFISH in the Solo Skiff (Sabine Pass)

- Took the Solo Skiff over to sabine lake and got in some very shallow grass flats. I was able to land some upper slot redfish and had one swim right under the skiff without spooking!! The red you lost that hit right at the boat on the pop R. Were you using braid or mono? I generally go with mono and lighter power rods with treble hook lures and it seem like I lose less fish. I picked that up from one of the other channels and it has made a big difference for me.

It’s sunflower seeds. Bigs brand has the best flavor and good quality seed compared to daisy.

I have an update on a comment I made about using an undersized crab for bait when you were at San Luis Pass. Talked to a TGW while fishing friday in Anahuac. She said while using an undersized crab like you did was violating the spirit of the law, No TGW would write you up if you caught an undersized crab and immediately put it on your line. However, if you had some undersized crabs in a bucket, there would be an issue. The 5% rule would apply (19 keeper crabs to 1 undersized crab.)

So the thing with Reds wherever you catch 1 you will catch many more they hunt in packs like dogs & will take turns returning to the exact spot you last cast to.

Fishin With Danny that’s actually a pretty good question. Most of the time you can see where the tides create a natural way out and you just follow it but if you get wayy back in there Google maps on satellite mode with your phone will get you out of there.

I switch lures alot, but the main ones I fish with is Down south (I throw a bunch of different colors) Hunchback lures, hogies, and top water go to is superspook Jr. bone.
