You really got respect that last clip at the 12 minute mark, because you had to come to land, setup the camera, get back into the Skiff, sail off, come back, and land it again just for the shot. That deserves a thumbs up just for all that.
I have watched most of your skiff videos. You are a big reason I picked up a used solo skiff yesterday. Thanks for all of the info. It helped me make a decision.
Glad to see you out on the Solo Skiff again. Every time I use my Solo Skiff I'm amazed at how much fun and stable it is. I surf lunch mine at least once per week at La Jolla Shore in San Diego, Ca. Watched all your Solo Skiff videos while I was on the waiting list for my Solo Skiff last year. Tight Lines
Ok Ok good to see you one the water again. My boat is ready for some thin water adventures, the only thing standing in my way is excuses. 😕 As always Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya. 🎣
Cool deal to get the solo out again...... Great meeting you at the Madisonville Bucees too -Very random. We are rigging up the solo we picked up now. Let us know when you do a meet up. Will drive down from Dallas. Justin
Great to see you out again man! Wish you a wonderful season. Down here it's slowly getting colder now so looking forward to watch some fishing videos 😂
11:29 Are you able to squeeze between that boat dock and the long reef? or is wise to around that long reef? I like to take my Solo there soon. Thx Kagen
I have enjoyed several of your videos. I actually found you walking through videos around the Sea Doo Fish Pro Trophy. I am looking for something small, easy to store, easy to commute to the coast with (live 100 miles north of Port O). I have a couple of nice Kayaks and enjoy fishing out of them but havent found that to be the right solution. I was headed down the road to order a Fish Pro thinking a jet would be perfect to get skinny and beach to do a lot of wade fishing but my research found two big issues that has led me to looking around at other options like the Solo Skiff or Polling Skiffs. The two concerns are 1) Texas has decided that you cant run a PWC at night!? I often leave for spots before daylight and would like to island hop looking for flounder to Gig at night. Second issue is All PWC manufactures recommend not starting the Ski in less than 3 feet of water, 90 percent of the places I fish are in less than 3 foot of water! I know you fish around Galveston which is considerably deeper than I fish down Port O'Conner and South. Would like to know how the Trophy is doing for you fishing? I see you like to go skinny with the Solo Skiff, Are you only using the Trophy in the deeper bays?? Maybe that is why you like / keep the Solo Skiff? Anyway, Tight Lines and shoot me your thoughts if you get a second.
Like any boat there’s advantages and disadvantages with each and every one of them. I actually sold my solo skiff due to having the aluminum boat that I can run in 1ft of water and is great for marshes and bayous and I can fish with two other people on it. I primarily got the fish pro to fish more open water in bay and jetty and offshore fish with also just a fun toy to ride around on. But I have taken my ski into water that’s 1.5ft deep. The reason they give warning about running shallow is cause the impeller can suck oyster and stuff off of bottom. When I get shallow with it I make sure bottom is either mud or sand so I don’t have to worry about ruining the impeller but it does just fine by idling out to some deeper water then taking off. I also plan to put a trolling motor on it which would make this worry even less cause then I can just run trolling motor to deeper water before taking off. It’s a great smooth ride in 2ft chop and runs fast and is economical for the capability and speed of the craft. No boat is perfect you just have to find what suits you and your fishing style the most.
@@KagenFishing Thanks for the quick reply! I'll have to look up what you have done with the aluminum, thats another avenue I was looking at. I loved the idea of the Fish Pro Trophy, fun factor included, But thinking for the same 20K budget there might be a better fit out there. Appreciate your comments since I see you running some of the same things I have been looking at. So did you pick the aluminum based on budget over a poling skiff or micro skiff? Is there a video of your build there I can check out? Are you not concerned about an aluminum being noisy in skinny water?? All my friends are running big Bay Boats but I just don't see $80K sitting here and not getting used enough!
Glad to see you back out on the water young man! Fishing has been really good the last couple of weeks in West bay. Amazing footage of you actually capturing a "polite gentleman" on Galveston bay. That is rare. LOL!
It’s been a while since I have been down there for sure time to get back thanks for letting me know you have had good luck there. I am going to fishing show! I’ve wanted to go for years but every year seemed like there was stuff that came up where I wasn’t able to.
I'm thinking about building a tiny skiff like this for my son. If you had to choose, would you prefer having a grab bar so you can stand up while you motor?
A grab bar would be nice for standing and driving if you could rig where it doesn’t take up any room of your deck and the front hatch still be accessible.
@@KagenFishing -- I envision it as...okay, there's that box you sit on when driving, right. Imagine that as a forward facing seat with a tall back. That "back" would have handles at the top, functioning as the grab bar. (The seat part would still maintain its role as a storage compartment.)
I mean since I don’t necessarily want to sell it the price would be what I have into it . Selling with everything on it including power pole, fish finder motor and trailer i think I would go for 5k.
@@KagenFishing thanks that's what I was wanting to know about how much it would cost to rig one like yours. Like your setup good videos man keep them coming.

Haha I appreciate your understanding of the effort that goes into filming!
I've missed the skiff vids. Glad to see it back where it belongs

I’m glad I could help you make an informed decision!
How are you liking it?

Kudos bro the fact that you had remorse for that fish shows how much of a true angler you are👍

Cool, a solo skiff video again.
I was kinda hoping you'd say you outgrew the skiff....then i could boot scoot two hours and buy it off you! Good to see the skiff popping back up!

What is a good trailer for solo skiff? Also how fast does it go?
Awesome video man! ✌🏻
I wish they would mold more skiffs.
Can you show that micro power pole mount pls !!!!

It been a real ruff year
What skiff is this ??
Dam it's been a long time bro
If you sold your skiff what would you want for it the way it's set up. I'm in La porte and really thinking about getting one.
