You won't find better non commercial stuff than this, in fact it could be sold for TV! Excellent knowledge of the park, top notch camera work & editing , super drone shots as well. Plenty on fun facts, I learned history & geology too. Outstanding job, and all in 4K! Double thumbs up from me & the family 👍👍, now subscribed.
Thank you so much for making this beautiful film. My partner and I lived there in our Holden panelvan for several months in 1991. There wasn’t any buildings that I knew of, except for a small toilet block and once a week, the warden would come around and open up another room that had a shower in it. We did meet many snakes, kangaroos and even a frilled-neck lizard that would visit us every day. None of them ever bothered us. It’s truly been a life changing experience living there, and being in the majesty of Lake Mungo. The presence of the ancient ones was often felt by us as we sat around the campfire at night , they felt so real. I look forward to hearing about more adventures with you in this silent sacred place that’s so chatty with stories of the past. 😊
Thankyou so much for your lovely comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the film! Yes, Mungo is a very special place. I look forward to heading back there again one day. All the best! 😊👍

Thanks you very much for your vid + tour. We did the trip in 2014 in an X5 E53 and came in through the Wentworth Pooncarie road, all sealed until the turn off just before Pooncarie at around 30kms. Yep, the dirt road can be corrugated but was no drama but is slippery clay when wet. Man, Mungo has changed so much in short time. They have added more tourist clean type to the areas. Thoroughly recommend!!

I live about 50kms south of balranald,I grew up here and went on a school excursion to mungo in about 95. I’m keen to go up there ASAP as I’ve just moved back to my hometown. Just gotta sort a 4wd to loan cos I don’t know how well my old Camry will take it. I love the history of this area, just an ancient place.

Travel estimates are high because the corrugations can be quite bad (due to the heavy Bentonite Mine traffic) you need to drive significantly slower to avoid violently shaking your vehicle, having said that airing down does help. It is also worth mentioning there's no mobile phone coverage after the edge of the sealed roads thus visitors need to be self sufficient (bring your own water).

@@ottouring You certainly have been busy, utilising the "playlists" feature of your YT Channel will allow better focus of topics as opposed to a mass collection of videos👍 Appreciated the economical build approach 😉
@@4xAdventures My comment (and feedback) was in response to *Out There Touring's* suggestion to check out their channel and travel/build videos, your channel is well laid out and more established than my own, no such suggestions are necessary or warranted 👍

How do you go about obtaining permission to fly drones in a national park? I’m hopefully heading out that way later this year and would love to get some drone shots at Mungo! Great video can’t wait to watch part 2 mate 👍🏽
Thanks very much!! The truth is, I didn’t realise it was not permitted until I was editing the video and only then noticed the sign on the wall outside the visitors centre. I did hear from them afterwards and they said they loved the video and all I had to do next time was simply ask them for permission to fly the drone.

@4xAdventures next road trip is mungo national park ! ,love your content ! quick question did you have to get some sort of permit to fly the drone in the national park if so was it easy to attain ?
G’day John! Thanks very much!! Mungo was great. Flying drones in the park is actually not permitted. The Mungo website has contact info if you want to request permission. When I was there, I practically had the place to myself, and the visitors centre was unattended. I recommend obtaining permission beforehand though if you can.

Haha, Thankyou. Yes, I know that now :) Unfortunately, I can’t change the video! I had never heard anyone say the name of the town, so that’s how it came out :) I’ll make sure to pronounce it correctly the next time I’m passing through there. All the best! 😊👍
