It will help ppl plan for their Australia holiday as well. I hope to fly in Australia one day as well.

Stef, those are commonly known as Paddy Melons and are a native Australian (usually considered a weed) plant. It would be nice if you were to approach some of the elders of the first nation people asking them to narrate some of their stories of the sacred places you visit. I think it would be a nice way to show tribute to our countries' custodians of the land.

I do not disrespect the original peoples of Australia or America or any place for that matter, and having a native guide makes it somewhat more authentic, I guess.
But if not for the great Paleontologist and Archaeologists who dedicated their lives to discovering the forgotten or
lost peoples of our planet, these guides wouldn't have the opportunity they have.
A few comments by you well researched, would not show a lack of sensitivity to these people but a doorway to an ancient culture.

I took my RV-6 to visit Mungo over the June long weekend last year. One of the very few highlights of my 2020.
Sunset on the shores of a lake that’s been dry for 20,000 years, talking with Indigenous guides about evidence of *culture* from 40,000 years ago, was amazing. Every Australian should visit at least once.

It’s such an interesting place, glad you enjoyed your trip there too Mark. Stay safe in the East Coast weather this weekend.

What a beautiful vid. Thanks for respecting the culture. When we went to Uluru some years back they were still allowing people to climb it. Three of my friends climbed and I thought it was a bad decision. You have to respect the culture where you travel.

There were a few cameras used in this video - Canon EOS RP, GoPro hero 9, and a GoPro Max on the wing of the aircraft. Sometimes I use my phone too. Thanks for watching.

I like the cinematography / flying reminded me of when I was there. Some Mexican? bloke from Balranald did my tour and told me the story of the Mungo man. Obviously made up but a nice story all the same. Cool place thanks for the video.

Having been fortunate enough to visit Uluru twice in my life I can see why you chose not to tell the story. It was only when I first went and learned of the aboriginal stories and appreciated their long and fascinating history that I understood how much of an outsider I was. There is always the chance in life to learn and respect history and other cultures. Great video and perhaps I may be lucky enough to travel half way around the world to find out more about that amazing place. Thanks Steff!

I agree. Uluru is just magical, there is something special about that entire area, that words cannot describe. Even someone as irreligious and unspiritual as myself was brought to tears at the sheer majesty of Uluru, and the significance it holds for the local indigenous people.

i think choosing to not tell the aboriginals stories because you're not aboriginal is bullshit, everyone should be able to share and embrace the history of all our brothers and sisters
