Offshore legend Yves Belanger recounts his RAZZ Miami runs.
"My name is Yves Belanger, and this incredible video captures an unforgettable day. Rick Conti and I started early in the morning when the conditions were extremely rough-much rougher than what you see in the video." "We took the boat out and actually lost an engine at one point. The waves were so intense that we were coming out of the air. With one engine down, we were trying to restart it when a massive wave hit us, sending the boat sideways. We thought we were going to flip. I was planning our escape routes, but miraculously, the boat straightened out."
"After finally getting the engine running, we made it back to shore. Later, Ricky noticed the weather had calmed a bit and suggested, 'Yves, let's take the boat out again and shoot some video.' We got a helicopter to film us, and it was an absolute blast. Neither of us felt any fear-we thought the boat was invincible." "During the shoot, we encountered a wave that sent us 15 feet into the air. You could've driven a Mack truck underneath us. I heard a crack, and I knew it was something special." "I prefer this video over others because it feels like a genuine racing experience, unlike some of the more staged ones. This run was raw and real."

This boat and Apache 69 are the all time best

what a crazy run!! I grew up lusting after the only 2 real apaches I'd seen both in OC MD. the yellow/pink Jenni's express and the Warlock. it wasn't till I got into boat racing in early 90's that I learned about donDon ArAnow and Arnesten. then found open class APBA and Alcone Motorsports. living in MD I could catch 3 to 4 races a year but he stopped racing so I've always stuck with his brand which was Douglass Marine then now just skater but I don't know if my favororite v Hull could handle this kind of beating and sheer lunacy in the cockpit. a 40 foot top gun I wouldn't attempt those rollers in. you two where like Willie and Sal only crazier. f-ing sick video and story. thank you so much for sharing that with people who love and respect what this takes! cheers my friend.
WARPATH, US1, Banner are the only "Real" Apache
Spent my summers in OC from 73-93. Being an average kid from highlandtown, seeing the boats, the lifestyle of the guys at the white marlin open, I knew I had to figure out a way to get rich. Never made it to rich, but also didn’t end up doing time. All gravy
@@HWG-wm8ld bro I was born in 74 so I was close but we always went last week July or 1st of august so we could go down and watch the boats come in a way there marlin. very cool to meet a fellow Marylander that it seems I followed in your footsteps. thanks for that brought some great memories on a shit week I had. so woth it. thanks again whole heatedly. cheers
I was born in 73, I’d say we stomped the same footsteps.
I left Maryland in 2004, been in AZ since. While in Phoenix, I would spend 3 months in San Clemente every year. I had to retire early and moved to a small mountain town down on the border.
Have a natty boh and have a better week. Haha
I can relate. I have the 1968 Nova Marine Nova 24 race boat. Flat water is hated by the boat. I can also relate to no cabin, no radios, not a single luxury. Just screaming motors and a way to control where they are pointed.

The boat was balanced well a little tail heavy to keep that nose from taking a sudden dive.
✔️
Very expensive to run inboard high performance boat engines compared to outboards today more fuel more engine and drive repairs ,but dam nothing beats the sound of high horsepower v hulls screaming across the ocean ❤
if money is a concern to you it’s probably the wrong sport. outboards are whack.
What’s he want next, electric motors?
Definitely very expensive to run. I worked for Alan Fuentes, he ran The Executioner, then partnered with Pete Rose and changed the name to "The Hit King" Back then he said everyone lost money racing. He said he did it for the thrill, competition and parties.

That's a lot like the Lake Of The Ozarks but it's not 2;30 a.m. and they didn't just leave the bar with about three or four more people in the boat with em and they don't seem to be drunk and they don't appear to be trying to run away from any sort of Law Enforcement and they aren't smokeing , eatting and drinking at all after they get it up and going good .
