The wheels were 9.75” in the rear and 8.75” front. 19” diameter with +15 offset. Tires were 225 by 245 and I think the sidewall was 35 or 40 not sure. I sold the car about two years ago
Steve Perez It’s debatable. Many people shout in forums saying it is, but there’s no firm evidence to support their claims. From my experience it hasn’t affected anything, and I’ve had the block off plate in for over 7 months. If you were running 30+ PSI then I’d run a BOV, but if you’re on stock tune or a SFR/BTR tune you should be fine

So I just did mine, I didn’t block off the boost line like you did, but installed my cold air and block off plate car sounds AMAZING... Coming into a problem tho, car was making 5 lbs of boost when we went to dons. Came home and moved my moms car back into the garage and I went for another rip and car made 15lbs of boost Two pulls then next pull made 5lbs, got home and check engine was on it freaks out when I block off my blow off valve
That’s weird, must be the tune. I didn’t know at the time of posting, but it sounds like you need a tune according to the comments. I bought my car w a custom tune and wasn’t sure what it was but it was fast and had no engine light. That was, until I 3” straight piped it😂😂
@@CanadianLag hey bro, ik im a year late but i own a genny as well. this mod aint the best for your car since it is recirculating the boost pressure back into the turbos turbine and will wear your turbo out faster. anything that has to deal with your vacuum lines affects your turbo. especially blocking off the bov.

I ran the block off plate for few days sounded great but I think it wasn’t sealed correctly lost bunch of boost and now I’m about to go to work and the car doesn’t start. It cranks but no start. Check spark and it had none. No codes either. I think the ecu isn’t giving spark anymore. I’m going to have to remove it and put bov back on hopefully that fixes it. In Canada btw idk what that changes but..
@@domrev9487 Canadian Ecu's and American Ecu's are set up different because of climate and our fuel. In Canada we put additives to our fuel to help the engine start in cold weather they also help with carbon build up. The Ecu's are set up for this different type of fuel for what I've heard.

Alton Horn I got really lucky with this car. It was actually stock when I bought it. I think the previous owner did a lot of stuff to it though because it has push to start and the sunroof which don’t come on the R-Spec. I didn’t even know that they were hard to find, I would just keep searching.

id say auto is faster just cause the computer will shift the gears faster however manual is overall just fun to drive! However the manual transmissions in these cars are known to be pretty unreliable. I personally went with the auto when I bought it just cause I wasn't stressing on making sure I was to get a manual gen coupe. Not many in my area and the ones I went to go look from buyer's were shit boxes and I could already tell the manual transmission were gonna go out just from the test drive. I still have lots of fun with the auto. and id say I go pretty fast 😏

It will do the same thing either way, but the factory air box mutes a lot of the sound from the turbo. If you have an intake, it sounds exactly the same except much louder
So this isn’t bad for your car? I’ve seen both sides and r u leaking boost bc I’ve heard without the O rings it can leak boost and I like my slow car to be as fast as possible so I’d rather not leak boost.

If you hear turbo flutter, that means your BOV is not working properly becsuse its not getting proper vacuum or its too tight. Your compressor wheel is spinning in ONE direction, then the pressurized air is coming back to it and forcing it to slow down and throw its shaft out of balance while destroying its bearings, hence the FLUTTER sound you hear, its called slowly destroying the wheel ... That sound is your sign that there is something wrong. You want proof ?? This is WHY they came out with ported compressor housings to specifically AVOID turbo FLUTTER that you are trying to make happen ... because you dont know shit about how it works ... there is your proof. While your phone is in your hand, ask siri or google or alexa what compressor surge is and educate yourself .. ...When the compressed air has nowhere to go, it causes the turbo rotational speed to rapidly drop, and attempts to push against the wheel. This can cause premature wear on your turbo...

YOU NEED TO PUT THE GASKET BACK IN BETWEEN THE INTAKE PIPING AND THE BLOCK OFF PLATE OR YOULL HAVE A BOOST LEAK

I have a code from my o2 test pipe but I did an OBD II scan and no codes showed up except the exhaust one
