Wish I would have known this I cut my stock couples in half because they would not come off. I dont know if the guy who had it before me use super glue or something but it was tearing in pieces... now I cant use my car since I have to order those oem parts now smh
Yeh I learned a while ago that I will never be done modding my car. There will always be another cool part to install! It's all part of being a car person!
I mean you can just buy a cone filter for 50 bucks and slap it on your stock intake to make it sound different. but i would highly recommend not cheaping out when it comes to performance parts for your car. cheap aftermarket parts can a lot of times make your car perform worse than factory. I'd rather pay a few extra hundred bucks and get a part that will know has been made with quality. K&N intake system for this car literally came with a guarentee for an increase of 7hp and had a dyno chart to prove it. just save up for a few months and get something quality man, take your time and your build will be amazing. www.genracer.com has a huge list of products to buy
This car seems to be able to adjust to it. Not every car can run vent to atmosphere. But this never had a problem with it. I now have a GTR and it needed speed density tuning to run vent to atmosphere, but the Genesis was fine stock tuning
Any problems/complications with installing this despite having the k&n cai? Ik injen states that it requires the injen cai but seems like you were able to fit it.
I think they are 2.5 inches. Not quite 90 degree tho, more like 120. I would say, before you work on the car, scope out some stores to see if anyone carries several sizes of couplers. Them once you get the stock ones out, bring them to the store and match them up to new ones.
So I just recently installed these pipes on my Genesis but whenever my turbo is pushing boost, there’s a high pitched whine. This has never happened before until the pipes were installed. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
that's just the sound your turbo makes after you open up the intake on the genesis coupe, for me its a lot of air wooshing and then it fades into a clean whistle that gets higher pitched and less noticeable the higher the rpm on full boost
Never had an issue with it. Ended up putting these back to stock and they were still good. The ends of the tape were under the clamps. So that was also keeping the tape secure. I'd use a higher grade material if I did it again. But there are some good high temp tapes you could wrap them with these days
I doubt that would do much of anything, it would still flex. The main reason to get this is because it relocates the sensor on the cold side piping to the largest diameter part of the pipe, so it sends more air into the engine.
The power seems a little more consistent. And between shifts, the turbo seems to respond much quicker. I think with a tune, these pipes will really show their performance gains over the stock pipes. Depends on how long to are planning to wait before the FMIC. You can always sell the IC pipes later on.
neoda91 When my ECU was still re learning everything after I reset it for the install, I noticed a huge increase in power, my car actually put me back in my seat! Once it reset, that huge power went away ): The car was still more responsive than stock. So with a tune I know they will help me gain some power. You should go ahead and buy them now, that way your car is ready for when you get tuned.
Bros FOURR Speed hey i know this is old. Just wanted to clarify. I have a stage 1 tune already. If i install these pipes, do i need to reset the ecu so it can adjust or will it adjust itself to the install over time? Thanks
Question: what if i want a hks ssqv blow off valve installed and it replaces the upper part of the cold side piping. What would i do to be able to use the injen pipe and the blow off valve?
Hey man I don't know if you already made the mod since this comment is a couple months old. But you can get an ADP BOV adapter for the HKS SSQV4 so it connects to the stock location which will allow you to keep the cold side piping.
do you know which aftermarket intercooler fits these pipes? One that doesn't have me removed the safety bracket? thanks, i have been looking but can't find one...(2010 Gen 2.0T)
Unless your buying or bought a CAI for looks don't get it. The stock air box flows perfect and an aftermarket CAI is mainly for sound. The only think you or anyone else should buy is a reusable air filter, not for performance but for saving money in the long run. I been messing with supercharged and turboed cars since 1994. Supercharged Camaro z28 (Procharger 8 psi) Dodge SRT- 4 back in 2005 to 2010, and Genesis 2.0 till today.
hey I was wondering if you still had the old parts and we're interested in selling them? The pipe on the cod side where the pressure sensor sits has a crack so I'm loosing boost. Thank you! it's a 2010 2.0T.
Hey, I'm looking to buy these and I found someone selling used ones, do you think there could be any problem or difference in using pipes that are already used???
+johnny pache Just make sure the welds have no cracks. They should be good. Might have some scratches or dents. But as long as there are no cracks or holes they will will work properly.
I know this video is old, but, I do have a 2012 genny and wanted to do this upgrade, do I need to do a tune or anything with the ecu? I'm confused and don't want to mess up the car, help
No tuning for these! I never ended up tuning my car and it always ran great. Only time you'll need to tune it is when you replace the downpipe with a catless one
+Stebin Samuel You might be able to get a good shop to weld a flange on if possible. There are some FMIC kits that come with BOV relocation plates and a flange built into the new pipe.
ive never seen a more thorough and clear installation, like i honestly feel like i can do this myself now. great vid man
Glad you enjoyed the video! We try our best to show in detail how to do the mods :)

Nice tutorial man! Do you think i can do this on my 2013? Do you have to tune the car after? Is it using the oem intercooler?
Just wondering if exhaust tape would be a better choice than duct tape.
Damnit man, I told myself I was done with modding and then I saw this. Haha

Thanks!
Sorry to ask again bro... but if i want the HKS SSQV bov, ware do i put it ? With this tubes now ? Do you know if it fits on the recirculating valve ?
I believe you can buy an adapter plate so you can mount it to the stock location. If not, I think it comes with it's own cold side pipe.
U tune the car after installing your SRI?
IF NOT, how did the car run? Any problems?
Jscspeed isn’t working does anyone know where I can get some cheap aftermarket parts and mods for my genesis ?

Hey guys anyone know where I could buy these now ?
OP Blackii genracer sells then I just bought some it’s getting shipped to me.
Are the couplers 90 degree or 45
what's the aftermarket silicone size for the parts you taped?
So I just recently installed these pipes on my Genesis but whenever my turbo is pushing boost, there’s a high pitched whine. This has never happened before until the pipes were installed. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
Double check all your pipe connectors. Sounds like a boost leak of some sorts
that's just the sound your turbo makes after you open up the intake on the genesis coupe, for me its a lot of air wooshing and then it fades into a clean whistle that gets higher pitched and less noticeable the higher the rpm on full boost
Black electrical tape hmmm so what if it peels off from the heat and gets caught in youre high speed fan? Sounds like Ingen sux.

Can these pipes be used with an after market intercooler?
+Vince D You'd probably have to modify the connection, I'm sure it could be possible but it won't be a direct bolt on install.
i just slapped these on and threw a CEL is this normal for a bit til the ecu adjusts or ?...0
Good video!
Hey man...was looking on the website and can't find the pipes on there..do you have to buy the intercooler set or are there just pipes you can buy
These pipes just bolt to the stock intercooler
hey i just noticed that my pressure sensor the one u mentioned, is disconnected, should i reconnect?
Probably will want that connected
yes
Why not get a whole intercooler kit?
I eventually wanted to do that. But Just wanted to start small. Never had issues with IAT's. So a bigger core wasn't really needed
Can't you just wrap all the flexible pipes in ducttape and not buy new pipes?
I was also thinking this while watching this video....did you ever get your answer?
I doubt that would do much of anything, it would still flex. The main reason to get this is because it relocates the sensor on the cold side piping to the largest diameter part of the pipe, so it sends more air into the engine.
Is that a K&N Typhoon? I wanna do this but gotta get an intake too!
Yup!
Did you notice any gains? Also is the pointless if I want to upgrade my intercooler down the road?
The power seems a little more consistent. And between shifts, the turbo seems to respond much quicker. I think with a tune, these pipes will really show their performance gains over the stock pipes.
Depends on how long to are planning to wait before the FMIC. You can always sell the IC pipes later on.

Does it work with a stock genesis 2010 2.t ? Or do i have to upgrade my airbox intake?
I'm not really sure. I'm thinking it won't fit, since it barely fit with my K&N intake
I was just wondering on the hot side pipe did your cuppler go all the way up to the weld marks of the pipe on top?
Tom Richardson No it did not. It looks a little short, but it is perfectly secure with the clamps on

where does the bov go?
It's bolted right to the turbo
The ic pipes do not have an aftermarket bov flange it uses the stock bov location.
The pipe expanding doesn't decrease pressure dude..it just increased the volume needed to be filled
jrbbikerx jrbbikerx by increasing the volume, there is less pressure because now there’s more room to fill up.
