Great video, however I just wanted to say that generally mounting a GoPro on your person can be rather dangerous. Michael Schumacher was so badly injured in his skiing accident due to the curved GoPro sticker on his helmet, which ruined the structural integrity. The helmet shell was punctured by the corner of the mount. Also, the chest mount could cause a big problem if you were to crash and fall on your chest, possibly breaking a few ribs. Of course this mount offers a great view, but one must keep in mind that it could be potentially dangerous if you were to crash.
Good tips, although I personally use the pole less than I would like. The thing is that I would like to just click the GoPro onto the pole, like you can do with the buckle on the chest harnass and on the helmet. But for the pole you would have to unscrew the damn thing and screw it on the pole. This is a thing my friends and me are not willing to wait for (yes we are a little bit impatient :P). So, what I am going to try out this year is the GoPro pole mount. Attach that to one of the ski poles and use the ski pole as a 'seflie stick'. This GoPro pole mount uses the buckle system to attach the GoPro. This should make the process of switching between angles and mounts much easier.
Hi, great and very helpful footage. I'm wondering what is your opinion about SUREWO Magnetic Action Camera Mount for Gopro. I think about it but i dont know anybody who have any experiance with that. Can you help?
....for the cold i have found out that the foamcover for the wind did work good. I did bring 2 hero7's black with me skiing and the one with the foamcover didnt freeze-up as much as the one whitout the foam 🙄
I am looking to do some GoPro movies this year and found this video very helpful. I like the look of using pole mount, are there any problems with doing this via simply attaching it to the bottom of your ski pole using GoPro handle/pole mount?
Very helpful tips! Watched most of your clips and I'm looking forward to finally trying this all out in 2 weeks from now during my skiing holiday. Counting down...
@@MountMediaChannel We went to Lech, Aut. in Dec. and thank to your advices I tryed to bring out as much features/settings as (according to my knowledge let's it.... ;) ) possible from my Hero8.... Casey neistat As well huh? Depends if you need it for hiking adventures that sort of stuff then the dgi stable small great picture but if it is for something like skiing you need something tough the hero 7 has amazing stabilization and equally marvelous picture but if you are doing something in between or both then definitely go pro it’s tough and all round amazing piece of tech
@@MountMediaChannel Sorry, my bad. Italy is a beautiful country. I was in Cervinia and Courmayeur a couple of years ago. It was one of my best riding experience ever
Great video, made me re-think my thoughts on the chest mount. I’m in the Italian Alps in two weeks, can’t wait!
Me too
Did u get covid ?
A tip : watch movies at KaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Kieran Cain Yea, I've been using kaldrostream for months myself =)
@Kieran Cain Yea, have been watching on Kaldrostream for since december myself =)

Yikes! Thanks for the reminder
Bro my dad was literally telling me this an hour ago because i got a gopro
Fell down while skiing with a gopro chest mount. Yep, my chest hurts like hell for 1 month.
Do not recommend
Thanks for the heads-up!
Very helpful video. Originally going with helmet mount but after watching your video I’ve decided to go with the chest mount!
Thx mate and good decision!

Superb video.
At 7:16 how long is the pole extended to achieve this shot?
About 36 inches - FOV Superview
Thank you! Very helpful to know! It’s a good FOV etc for this type of shot, I’ll aim to buy a pole that goes at least that length:)
How many batteries do u use for like one ski day like for example 6 hours
BEST EXPLANATION EVERRR

Great video! Going on a skitrip tomorrow. So many great tips!
if you want a basic mount and not go thru hassles, chest strap works for everything -- paintball, soccer, hiking, skiing, waterparks...
....for the cold i have found out that the foamcover for the wind did work good.

Ok. Thx for the info
What brand is your j hook mount?
Great video Bro! Everything I needed to know.
What frame size do you prefer for chest mounts - 16:9 or 4:3 or something else? Great video!
For gopro 9 do you need a case of cover for the snow or cold weather
What about neck mount ?
Very informative. Thank you from Texas! I would love to ski Italy someday!
Thx Genie!

No, you can try to use the ski pole. A normal pole just weighs less and is easier to use.
Chest mount is my favorite

Hi,
What settings u use for filming?
Thanks for your Useful tips 🙏
Nice video! What about puting the gopro at the front of the ski facing back?
I did a few times in the past - had a few bad experiences and almost lost my GoPro, but there is surely a way to mount the GoPro properly
Great video! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thx Tommy!
Great mount tips indeed
I cant get the chest mount to work

did you recently change the title so that it accounts for the hero 8 black? or was it always called that?
No, you are right. I made this video last year for the Hero7. But the mounts for the Hero 8 are obviously the same.

Should I buy go pro hero 7 or dji osmo pocket? 🤔
