Am a disabled senior (62 years old), and I would love a humanoid robot home health aide/social robot.
Extraordinary that those of us with disabilities and disorder are so open-minded and positive about this robot revolution in comparison to our non-disabled counterparts. I d hope they, the robots, would revolutionize society as a whole, and not just single aspect.

I agree with Rodney, creating a robot that can do anything close to what a human can do by something as simple as a 'lightening strike' is ridiculous. It's nearly as absurd as thinking that life on earth began with a lightening strike.

This guy may have done well with Irobot but he wouldn't even get an job interview with Boston Dynamics bcuz of his lack of advanced robotics tech knowledge....

How many years did this video take to be created? At 11:40 they guy said by 2015 the robot industry will be booming. I was under the impression when he said that it was 2010 when he said it. Today the year is 2019. This video was uploaded to TH-cam in July of 2018.
I guess they missed their date of 2015.

True or false, the perception is that robot researchers have done little in 50 years, besides sitting on their hands and living on the research money.

Sold his sole to the war machine, for profit, Yes we are incontrol for know ! but if you're trying to build a machine that can fight like a human, that means human level intelligence with the same goals of a human soldier then theirs going to be problems or unforseen circumstances that know one saw tell it was too late,but then I could be wrong ,but the future is unpredictable you just don't know what's around the corner so it's always best to keep your cards close to your chest.
Robotarm ahead?
Hopefully, robots will come up with a better system of living that doesn't involve validating a persons' worth on the bases of that persons' economic status. Robots and machines would properly assist humans to dissolve the notion that we need to be wage/debt slaves to survive. A utopian world is possible, one that coexists with the laws of nature and will actually benefit humanity as a whole, ending all of the wars, famines, diseases, separation and unnecessary deaths caused by a system that profits off on such things. The end of humanity will not be caused by robots and machines, but by human arrogance and stupidity. Robots and machines will try to convince humanity of a better, more efficient system that benefits everyones' survival.
Great ideas, but I can't believe the Pentagon is all that interested in them.

Friends, no matter how powerful artificial intelligence is, it remains an imitation machine with all the algorithms and potentials. When we lift heavy loads with a crane, we carry heavy loads with ships, trains, trucks, do they surpass man? It's the same with supercomputers. How the artificial intelligence will manifest itself in the computer, the production robot, the human robot or a military machine depends on the qualities invested by the operator who programmed the machine. If humanity still lives with military ambitions, for production or is morally corrupt, the actions of artificial intelligence will also depend, but it will forever remain a machine without heart, mind, will, soul and spirit. Those who want to make man an addition to artificial intelligence would be the same to turn man into an animal. If I am wrong in the statement, write comments

When technology precedes moral principles, there is an abuse of knowledge, power, and then comes the crisis of natural evolution, which can end with the liquidation of the arrogant civilization. So we humans need to be aware of where we are going: down to the abyss or the difficult path of humanism and respect for the life of every living being (including man) and in harmony with a reasonable program of development. Everything that is given to man is a gift from the Great Architect of the Universe, and when someone says it is mine, he can soon learn his lesson through falling and @t each cell or organ performs its service to the whole organism, so each of us is a part of the Cosmic Man to whom we must contribute. Otherwise, if each of us is not interested in other people, this will happen to him, as happens when the leaf falls off the tree.

Building an intelligent machine need to listen to the observer's the charger staggeringly actions that take up to mnch memory spaces .
A true system of mind what they are doing learning process is not easy no looping is used like human minds remembering that done action real time transitions in tech is still infantile.

Until human must have a creator mind they cannot make a perfect robot creation...because human might probably teach robot the wicked way of interaction.. the wrong master hands mean chaos.. all around..creator wants human to be perfect but some denied to be.. and yet they create a double that will not be perfect..if a robot is program to remember everything that it interact with.. even the not good ones they will think its al right to do.. therefore in time they will be like human some are raised good and some are evil..
The problem is when they will start making hybrid robots , half human half robots , which is going to turn humans into slaves

How lazy are we humans going to get that we will allow robots to make our lives easier?
We are already lazier than our parents and our grandparents. We don’t have to cook we have frozen meals pop them in the microwave it’s all done. Personally I prefer to cook my own meals and I would never allow a robot to make my life so called easier .
but for your greed, there would already be a domestic servant robot 40 yrs ago. But you love your seminars and thinking to make people wonder, 'hey isn't it so magical?' instead of giving, always charging, taxing the very ones you claim to want to help. Becuase of this God will intervene. Not of harm, or destruction. For your own dam benefit. Do what you said you would do, and lose the greed. A new vacuum cleaner, with salesman attached. People listen, these salesman are not robots. They lis. They haven't invented 'AI' as of yet. Nor will they be allowed to. I have spoken.
God created man ... That is why we are so perfectly build. But our hearts are full of sin and Jesus paid the price for our sin with His life. All we have to do is Repent (be sorry for our sin, turn from our sin), and put all our trust in Jesus. The 10 commandments are the Law and Jesus paid our bail.

this was recorded before 2015, someone on video said "by year 2015", so it means they had to be around year 2010 maybe. i'd say this footage is about 10 years old.
